Chapter 374 Informing Dorian
Daniel's face lit up when he saw Alvin.
"Surprise! I brought Shirley to your store to shop!" Daniel greeted warmly.
"Shirley's here too? No need to be formal. We're like family! If she likes something, it's on me!" Alvin replied enthusiastically.
It was clear Alvin was meeting Shirley for the first time.
Despite the warm exchange, no one knew if it was genuine.
"What's going on here?" Alvin noticed Jessie and her group looking shabby and frowned, asking the salesperson.
The salesperson quickly whispered an explanation to Alvin.
"Alvin, ever heard of the Miller or Harris families?" Daniel asked quietly.
Alvin hadn't thought much of it initially, but his eyes widened at Daniel's question.
"Why are you asking about them?" Alvin asked, surprised.
"Those two girls over there, one claims to be from the Harris family, the other from the Miller family. Are these families significant?" Daniel pointed at Sarah and Chloe, pressing for answers.
Alvin's expression changed instantly, and his tone grew serious. "Daniel, do you know who owns this store?"
"You mentioned it before. It's the Ashford family, right? One of the top families in Everglow City!" Daniel nodded quickly, feeling reassured.
"Good, then let me tell you straight. Both the Miller and Harris families are on the same level as the Ashford family. You've messed with the wrong people this time!" Alvin's words nearly gave Daniel a heart attack.
"What should I do? Luckily, things haven't escalated. Should I go apologize now?" Daniel stammered, breaking into a cold sweat.
"Hold on, you're my friend. How would it look if you apologized to them?" Alvin stopped Daniel.
"But you just said they're people we can't afford to offend," Daniel asked, bewildered. Was Alvin planning to stand up for him?
"You're in luck. I said those families are on the same level as the Ashford family, but they're actually our arch-enemies. So if the Harris and Miller families want to cause trouble here, the Ashford family won't stand for it!" Alvin sneered.
He made no effort to hide his words from Chloe and Sarah, seemingly wanting them to hear.
"No wonder I felt uneasy as soon as I entered this store. So it's owned by the Ashford family! But you don't seem to hold much power in the Ashford family. Are you sure the Ashford family still dares to act arrogantly in front of the Miller and Harris families?" Sarah laughed in anger. She knew Dorian was already in hot water with Ethan, and here Alvin was, daring to offend both families. Clearly, he was out of the loop and likely just a hired hand.
"What does my standing in the Ashford family have to do with you? Are you the heiress of the Harris or Miller family? How dare you cause trouble in our store? You must have a death wish!" Alvin's face darkened as he called over several security guards to surround Jessie and her group.
"What do you think you're doing?" Jessie asked sternly.
Several of the Miller family's experts outside noticed something was wrong and prepared to intervene. Just then, a car pulled up at the store entrance.
When they saw Ethan get out, they stopped in their tracks.
Ethan ignored them and rushed into the store, spotting Jessie and her group surrounded by security guards.
"Ethan, why are you here? How did you deal with Dorian tonight? Tell this guy so he knows his place!" Sarah shouted as soon as she saw Ethan.
Alvin's legs went weak at the sound of Ethan's name, nearly collapsing.
Even the most marginalized members of the Ashford family had likely heard of Ethan!
He never imagined Sarah and the others would be connected to Ethan!
"What's going on here? Is this an Ashford family business?" Ethan asked, frowning.
"Yeah, and this guy said we must have a death wish!" Sarah snorted, pointing at Alvin.
"Who are you?" Daniel asked, glaring at Ethan with jealousy.
"Me? I'm someone you'll never be able to mess with in your lifetime!" Ethan sneered, then looked at Camila, who was still hiding in Hannah's arms.
"What happened to her?" Ethan asked, noticing the tear stains on Camila's face.
"Let me explain!" Chloe stepped forward and briefly explained the situation, causing Ethan's expression to darken.
"Mom, are you okay?" Ethan asked Jessie with concern.
"I'm fine. It's Camila who was wronged!" Jessie shook her head slowly.
"I was asking if your hand is okay. Even if that slap didn't hurt your hand, it must have dirtied it. From now on, let me handle these things!" As soon as Ethan finished speaking, Shirley let out a scream and flew, landing at the store entrance and passing out.
"Who are you, a thug? Security, arrest him!" Daniel was shocked that Ethan acted so quickly, trembling and forgetting about Shirley.
"Stop! No one moves!" Alvin suddenly shouted at the security guards.
"Alvin, what are you doing?" Daniel was stunned.
"If you want to die, don't drag me down with you!" Alvin kicked Daniel in the stomach, but being weaker, he ended up falling to the ground himself.
"Mr. Wilson, it's all a misunderstanding! It is all Daniel's doing; it has nothing to do with me or the Ashford family!" Alvin crawled to Ethan, desperately explaining.
He might not fear the younger members of the Miller or Harris families, but Ethan was someone he couldn't afford to offend. Even Dorian might not be able to protect him!
"Really? Weren't you just about to stand up for them?" Ethan sneered at Alvin's pale face.
Daniel finally realized the gravity of the situation, his face turning ashen.
"You should be grateful you and your men didn't get a chance to act! Since you're an Ashford family lackey, call your master over. How to handle this is his problem, not mine!" Ethan kicked Alvin away in disgust.
"Call Mr. Ashford?" Alvin's eyes widened, and he collapsed to the ground, utterly drained.
