Chapter 579 Killed Without Hesitation
Seth's heart dropped like a rock when he heard that. He saw the killer glint in Ethan's eyes and knew he was in deep trouble.
"Look, just don't kill me, alright? I swear, the ML Guild won't mess with you anymore. Better to have a friend than an enemy, right?" Seth pleaded, trying to change Ethan's mind.
"Do you think I care? I said it before, not just you, but the whole ML Guild is done for," Ethan shot back, cold as ice.
"Help me, guys!" Seth's face went pale. Realizing he couldn't sway Ethan, he yelled to Patricia and the others, "If he takes me out, you're next! Do you really think you can get away? We've all pissed him off today!"
Patricia and the others looked worried. Seth had a point. They might not care about him, but Ethan wasn't likely to let them off easy either.
"Trying to drag everyone down with you? Fine by me. Anyone else wanna step up? I'll take you all on," Ethan sneered, not giving a damn.
Hearing this, Patricia and the crew hesitated again.
Ethan's fighting skills were off the charts. They couldn't even scratch his defenses and had already lost a key player. Their fighting spirit was pretty much shot.
"Your big mistake was threatening Angela! No one messes with my wife," Ethan said, pointing to Angela, who was still wrapped in the Grail's aura, his face stone-cold.
"I know I messed up. Please, spare me. I didn't hurt her; she just passed out," Seth begged, his voice shaking.
"Too bad you figured that out too late. If you'd owned up when I first got here, maybe I'd have let you live," Ethan sneered, then threw a punch straight at Seth's chest.
Patricia and the others watched in shock as Ethan's punch landed. Seth's eyes went wide, and the sound of bones cracking filled the air. His eyes lost their light, and he slumped over, dead on the spot. Even in death, his eyes stayed open, unable to believe he'd been taken out by someone way below his level.
"Anyone else wanna stick around and fight?" Ethan asked, turning away from Seth's lifeless body like it was nothing. He glanced at Patricia and the others, a smirk playing on his lips.
"Today's mess was my bad. I apologize and promise it won't happen again. Later," Ambrose said, knowing when to cut his losses. He'd lost the will to fight against someone as fierce as Ethan. No point risking his neck.
Ambrose took off, and the other late master levels followed, vanishing in no time. The only ones left were Patricia and the dead Seth.
"Just a heads-up: by offing Seth today, you've seriously pissed off the old man from the ML Guild. He won't let this slide," Patricia said, giving Ethan a look full of mixed emotions.
"Not your problem. Honestly, I'm more worried he might chicken out and not face me," Ethan chuckled, totally unfazed.
"Guess I was sticking my nose where it doesn't belong. But I'm curious, what's your deal with Francis?" Patricia asked, forcing a smile.
"I didn't spill earlier 'cause I didn't want him to bolt. But now that it's just us, I don't mind sharing. Francis is like an older brother to me," Ethan said coolly. He figured it wouldn't hurt to let Patricia in on it, thinking they might cross paths again. If she was smart, she'd know how to play her cards next time.
Patricia instantly regretted asking. The bombshell about Ethan and Francis's relationship hit her hard. She realized knowing this could be dangerous if word got out, no matter who spilled the beans.
"I swear, I won't tell anyone about you and Francis," Patricia promised with a bitter smile.
"Relax. Francis isn't that scary. Want me to call him over? Seems like you know him pretty well," Ethan raised an eyebrow, smirking.
"No need. Just remembered I have something urgent. I won't bother you anymore. If we meet again, I'll make it up to you," Patricia's face changed, and without waiting for Ethan's reply, she vanished into the forest.
The eight late master levels, except for the forever-gone Seth, disappeared like they were never there. Ethan glanced at where Angela and the others were lying, then grabbed the Grail.
Angela and Marco soon woke up thanks to Ethan's needles, looking totally confused. The change in their surroundings only added to their shock.
"What just happened?" Angela asked, still dazed.
Apparently, when Seth knocked them out, they had no clue and didn't even have time to react.
"Just a little incident, but it's all sorted now," Ethan said with a smile.
"Who's that?" Angela asked, pointing to Seth's body in the pit, clearly surprised.
"He was the one plotting against me and took Giuseppe. Tried to use you to get to me, but I handled it," Ethan explained calmly, like it was no big deal.
Even though Ethan made it sound casual, Angela could imagine how tough his opponent must have been. After all, the guy was a master level expert.
"He's dead. What about Giuseppe?" Angela asked, snapping out of her shock.
"Isn't he lying over there?" Ethan pointed to a spot not far behind Angela.
He had woken Angela and Marco but left Giuseppe out cold to avoid any hassle.
"He's not dead," Angela sighed in relief after checking Giuseppe's pulse and heartbeat.
"Let's head back to the car and talk," Ethan said, lifting Giuseppe off the ground.
