Chapter 151 The Origin of the Beads
Ethan thought, ‘I also want to know the principle!’
"Just like what Francis said, Qi is something mysterious. I also don't know how to explain it now. Just understand it as a method of mine to heal and save people, or a necessary price to pay," Ethan said with a bitter smile. But Ethan’s intuition told him Francis definitely knew something else.
Just then, the medical professionals arranged by Bennit had entered the ward with their equipment.
"Ethan, my friend. Remington doesn't need us to worry for him now. How about we go to the Quiet Breeze Pavilion and have a private chat with the old master?" Francis seemed to sense t Ethan had something to ask, so he smiled and invited Ethan.
"As it turns out, I also have something to consult the master. Grandfather, Sarah, please wait outside for me. I'll be out after chatting with the master for a while!" Ethan's eyes lit up, and he told the Harris family, then followed Francis and left .
"Why do you have to chat privately like that if there's something? Are you afraid we will overhear?" Sarah pouted and muttered discontentedly.
"Sarah, everyone has their secrets. If Ethan doesn't say it, don't pry too much. Otherwise, it will backfire!" Clarence, with a meaningful look, reminded his granddaughter.
"I know. I don't care if he doesn't say it!" Sarah replied disdainfully.
Soon, Ethan arrived at a separate courtyard in the deepest part of St. Benedict's Priory with Francis. There was only a loft built entirely of bamboo in the courtyard with a sign hanging at the entrance that read Quiet Breeze Pavilion.
Just by looking at these three words, Ethan felt a profound artistic conception with a sense of lasting charm and a touch of sharpness.
These three words must have been written by Francis himself!
"Does the master live in this bamboo building normally?" Ethan followed Francis into the Quiet Breeze Pavilion and curiously asked while looking around at the simple furnishings inside.
"That's right, this is the place where the old master rests. Please have a seat, Ethan, as Bennit has sent us some coffee. Let's drink and taste it!" Francis smiled and invited Ethan to sit in front of the bamboo coffee table, then started to boil water and make coffee.
Looking at the complete coffee set on thecoffee table, Ethan couldn't help but sigh, "You truly have an elegant taste. It seems you are also knowledgeable about the coffee ceremony?"
"It's just a way to enjoy oneself during leisure time. Drinking coffee is just a matter of the state of mind!" Francis nodded with a smile, then focused on handling his coffee utensils.
Ethan didn't interrupt and just observed everything in the room, waiting for Francis to serve the coffee.
Until he finished his cup of coffee, Ethan could still taste the lingering fragrance of coffees in his mouth. He couldn't help but take a deep breath.
The coffee that Bennit gave to Francis was indeed extraordinary. He had actually detected a hint of special flavor from it.
The special characteristic was not about the true taste of thecoffee, but he discovered the coffee contained a subtle warmth, which contrasted starkly with the coolness in his body. It also resonated and blended with it, making him feel comfortable.
"Have you felt it?"
Francis asked with a smile.
Ethan's heart suddenly stirred, and he realized something.
Even the best coffee could not have such a presence. The only explanation was that when Francis steeped the coffee, he infused the aura into thecoffee.
Who would have thought this so-called aura could be used in this way?
"The esteemed one brought the junior to taste the coffee for me to experience the aura in the coffee? What does the esteemed one want to tell me?"
Ethan knew it was time to get straight to the point, so he took the initiative to speak.
"I'll show you something!"
Francis took something out from his sleeve and handed it to Ethan as he spoke. .
Looking at the object in Francis's hand, Ethan's eyelids twitched because the thing Francis was holding was actually a round pearl. Except for the fact the color of the pearl was milky white, everything else looked almost identical to his own pearl!
The same size, and the same texture!
It turned out Francis also had the miraculous pearl!
Ethan picked up the pearl from Francis's palm and immediately sensed something was off.
This pearl was different from his. There was no icy cold feeling when he held it. When he squeezed it, there was no aura permeating out!
What on earth was going on here?
"Esteemed one. What is this?"
Ethan was full of questions but didn't know how to ask or could only ask what this pearl was!
"This pearl is called the Sun Bead. I don't know how it came into existence or where it came from. But this pearl was entrusted to me by my Magister before his passing! You are curious why this pearl has no aura and is different from the one on your, aren’t you?" Francis asked with a smile.
"Do you know I also have this kind of pearl on me?"
Ethan stared at Francis in astonishment, while covering his chest with a cautious expression.
This mysterious bead had such great significance to him. It was something his mother had left him. Carelessness was out of the question.
"You don't have to worry. I will not try to snatch the bead from you. And if you like it, I can give you this bead as well!"
It seemed that Francis could see Ethan's thoughts and continued to speak with a smile.
"Give it to me? Isn't this something your Magister left for you? You said it's called the Sun Bead? Then what about the one on me. What is it? Is it also a Sun Bead?"
Upon hearing that, Ethan was shocked by Francis's generosity, and even more speechless about the name of the bead.
He knew well the bead he had on him was clearly filled with a chill, and the name Sun Bead was too inadequate for it.
"This one is the Sun Bead, and the one on you is the Moon Bead. These two beads were passed down through generations in the Guild where my Magister was. The Sun Bead belongs to Yang and is a sacred object used to assist in cultivating techniques, while the Moon Bead belongs to Han and is a sacred object used to assist in medical cultivation. The two have different attributes and uses, but their essence is the same."
Francis's smile finally disappeared , and he explained earnestly.
"Moon Bead? You're saying that these two beads were originally a pair, and they are the sacred objects passed down through generations in your Magister's Guild?"
Ethan widened his eyes in shock.
The news was completely unexpected, and he had previously thought the bead was some rare jade!
"That's correct. I may have been a bit impulsive in saying it like that, but if you are willing to inherit the teachings of my Magister, I can make the decision for him and entrust you with the Sun Bead as well, and I will also tell you the true uses of these two beads!"
Francis stared straight at Ethan and calmly spoke.
"Wait a minute... I'm a bit confused! What Guild does your Magister belong to? Is there still such a thing as a Guild in the world? And... if you know the uses of these beads, why don't you keep them for yourself instead of giving them to me?"
Ethan simply could not believe this unexpected stroke of luck had fallen into his lap, suddenly receiving so much information about these mysterious beads, making it difficult for him to process it all at once!
"Let me tell you a story, and you can decide for yourself after you hear it!"
Francis realized Ethan was still wary of him but continued to speak nonchalantly.
