Chapter74 Ethan Takes Action
If they didn’t know the truth beforehand, they might’ve been swayed by his affectionate appearance!
“Get lost, and stop pretending here! I can't stand to look at you anymore. You already fooled me once; are you planning to do it again?” Mia angrily shouted. Under the bystanders’ surprised eyes, she threw the bouquet on the ground.
“Mia, I have genuine feelings for you. Why can't you give me another chance?” John's face instantly turned ugly. Ethan could clearly see the hidden darkness in his eyes. Surprisingly, this man continued with his show, making Ethan take notice.
Sarah lowered her voice and asked Ethan, “I can't help but want to beat him up. Can you do that? After all, you’re our bodyguard today!”
Ethan gave her a reassuring look. Without waiting for Mia to speak again, he warned John in a deep voice, “My friend has already said that she never wants to see you again. If you’re still a man, stop harassing her! Will you leave by yourself, or do I need to throw you out?”
“And who do you think you are? What right do you have to interfere in Mia's affairs?” John immediately stood up from the ground, his expression hostile as he glared at Ethan.
“They’re my friends, John. If you don't leave, I’ll call the police and report you for harassment!” Mia immediately warned him. She didn’t expect Ethan to stand up for her. She was grateful, but she also didn’t want to drag other people into her problems.
“Mia, it's just a couple's quarrel. Why bring the cops in? Besides, isn’t your friend meddling too much?” John snorted disdainfully, his gaze toward Ethan growing even darker as if he had developed a grudge.
Standing firmly between the two, Ethan cut Mia off before she could speak. “You're wrong. You two have already broken up, so this isn’t a couple’s quarrel anymore. If you continue doing this, she has every right to call the police! As for today, I’ll personally handle this matter!”
John glared at Ethan with a fierce and menacing look, “Judging from your accent, you're not from around here, right? This is Seattle, not a place where poor outsiders like you can run wild freely. Do you know I can get you locked up for days with just one phone call?”
He did want to please Mia for his goals, but that didn’t mean he’d tolerate Ethan’s rudeness.
“Oh? I’ve actually never been to jail. Should I fulfill that wish?” Ethan laughed instantly upon hearing this. If someone didn’t know any better, with his relaxed face, they would’ve thought he was going somewhere nice!
“John, stop messing around!” Mia shouted, but Sarah immediately pulled her down to sit.
Sarah comforted, “Leave this kind of thing to the men. Ethan will take care of it!”
“You don't know, but John...”
“Once things escalate, Ethan might suffer!” Mia commented, her face full of worry.
“Do you really not believe me? Do you think that even if he has connections, he can surpass Shine Group’s influence?” Sarah scoffed, unconvinced. If John's reliance was only on this kind of power, she wouldn't have taken him seriously!
Upon hearing this, Mia fell silent.
“If you insist on starting a fight, then don't blame me for being merciless!” John threatened confidently as he turned to Mia. “I'll give you one more chance, Mia. If you leave with me now, I can spare him. Otherwise, I'll show him the consequences of offending me today!”
In his eyes, Ethan was just an ordinary outsider. It was entirely up to him how things went.
“You yap so much!” Before he even finished talking, Ethan had already grabbed John's collar and lifted him up.
John's face instantly turned red as his legs kicked and struggled. His breath was labored as he tried to pry Ethan's big hands apart.
Unfortunately, before he could struggle any longer, Ethan casually threw him out and left him crashing heavily on the ground.
“I already warned you; if you don't leave by yourself, I'll throw you out! Do you not understand such simple words?” Ethan's words almost made John get a stroke from anger. His body felt sore from the fall, and he couldn't stop coughing. The pain had obviously enveloped him, rendering him unable to speak in his current state.
At that moment, four suited young men nearby rushed over, quickly helping John up from the ground.
“What’re you all standing around for? Can't you see that I was attacked? Kill him for me!” John finally caught his breath and angrily shouted at the four young men.
Without hesitation, the men lunged toward Ethan.
They came fast, but left even faster. Before anyone could react, Ethan kicked all four of them to the air, the men landing in the corridor outside the café’s entrance!
He had shown mercy by not using the mysterious energy in his body. Otherwise, these guys would’ve been crippled or dead!
On the other hand, John was completely dumbfounded. His father had paid a high price to hire those four bodyguards from a security company, yet Ethan defeated them so easily!
The surrounding people finally reacted, screaming and running out in a panic.
Mia wasn’t much better than the others, staring at Ethan in a daze for a long time without recovering her senses.
On the other hand, Sarah was calm in her seat as she sipped her coffee.
Ethan calmly stared at John as he asked deliberately, “Will you leave now? Or do you want to join them?”
John trembled, not having the courage to provoke Ethan at this moment. Scared, he quickly ran out of the café, not even caring about the four bodyguards!
“Sorry, Boss. I'll pay for the meals from the tables that ran away just now.”
At that moment, Sarah pulled out a stack of cash and placed it on the table. She then turned to Mia, who was still dazed. “Let's leave as well. Otherwise, that guy might return with more people!”
Only then did Mia snap back to reality and said, “You're right. Ethan attacked first, so John will definitely use his connections at the police station to cause trouble!”
“I'm not afraid of him, I just don't want any trouble. I don’t want that guy bothering us again!” Sarah muttered, curling her lip in disgust.
Mia said with concern, “So where are you going now? Back to the hotel? After what happened today, it might be better for Ethan to leave Seattle completely if he can.”
“Is it necessary for Ethan to leave over such a small thing? You really underestimate him, don't you?” Sarah teased, winking at Ethan.
Ethan was silent for a bit before asking Mia, “If it's convenient, I'd like to meet your father. Would you mind introducing me?”
This surprised not only Mia, but also Sarah.
