"Miss, you have to eat something. " Cherry, the maid assigned to take care of Chloe, pleaded from outside the door. However, Chloe refused to open the door. The porridge in her hand was cold.

Munro, who had been busy all day, came back later than usual today. Cherry couldn't help but ask, "Why were you busy until so late today?"
"Don't mention it. The old man was critically ill in the afternoon, and I rushed to Fragrant Garden as soon as I got the news. Thankfully, it was a false alarm, and the old man was temporarily fine!" Munro explained with a slightly unpleasant expression.
"How is he? How much longer can he hold on?" Cherry's face changed upon hearing this and she anxiously asked.
In the Miller family, Munro and Merrick were the only sons. Munro and his wife had a daughter named Chloe. On Merrick's side, there was Maria, the eldest daughter, and an eighteen-year-old son.
