Chapter 534 Grail

"I'm gonna find Grail. They're taking forever, so I'm gonna give 'em a hand," Ethan said, not even glancing back.

"Wait up!" Angela called out, rushing to catch up with him.

This time, Ethan slowed down so Angela could keep pace.

"Do you even know where Grail is?" Angela asked, trailing behind him, sounding skeptical.

"Nope, that's why we're looking," Ethan replied, shaking his head, dead serious.

Angela was left speechless.

"Angel, can you help me find Grail's location?" Ethan was still chatting with Angel in his mind.

"Chill, as long as it's within a mile, I got you. My divine sense is way stronger than yours," Angel reassured him.

"Ethan, are you for real? How long have we been wandering around?" A few hours later, as dawn broke and they still hadn't found anything, Angela finally voiced her doubts.

"What's the rush? Got a hot date or something?" Ethan stayed calm. He figured if he searched all of Lope Town, he'd find it eventually.

Other teams had been searching for days with no luck. Ethan wasn't sure if their info was legit. If they came up empty, they might've been duped. But that seemed unlikely. Cross Christianity wouldn't pull something that dumb.

Just then, a small team appeared in the distance. Ethan's face changed, and he quickly pulled Angela behind a nearby hill.

"The Pantheon guys are here too. We gotta snag Grail before they do."

"They've got everyone out here, but finding Grail in this huge area ain't easy. Think our info's good?"

"Who knows? Just hurry up and search the front, or we're screwed when we get back."

The small team passed by Ethan, moving away with detector-like gear, totally different from Ethan's search method.

"Are they from Cross Christianity?" Angela asked, frowning as she watched them leave.

"Yeah, but they probably won't find squat either," Ethan replied.

"Should we check out where they just were?" Angela asked, looking in the direction Ethan was heading.

"I bet they didn't even realize they missed it," Ethan laughed.

An hour later, as the sun rose, Ethan and Angela stopped under the morning light.

"You saying it's under the sand?" Angela gave Ethan a weird look. She hadn't seen him do anything special to search. He just walked here and stopped, saying they were there.

"Yep, I was starting to doubt their info, but I actually found it," Ethan nodded seriously.

"How do we get in?" Angela asked, not sure how to argue with him.

"Easy peasy. Close your eyes," Ethan chuckled.

"What are you gonna do?" Angela asked, suspicious.

"Relax, I'm not gonna do anything bad. You asked how to get in, so I'm taking you in," Ethan explained.

"I'm warning you, don't mess with me!" Angela glared at him before closing her eyes.

Ethan smiled and then they both disappeared into the sand.

Angela felt like she was wrapped in something. She couldn't open her eyes or speak, totally freaked out.

After a few seconds, she could move again and found herself in complete darkness.

"Ethan, where are we? What did you do?" If it weren't for feeling Ethan's hand, Angela would've lost it. Then a light appeared, and she saw his face and the phone in his hand.

"We're here," Ethan said seriously.

Angela's eyes widened in surprise. Ethan shone the phone's flashlight to the side.

A massive gate made of earth appeared. Though she couldn't see it clearly, the tall gate was overwhelming. Her mouth dropped open in shock.

"This place is buried fifteen hundred feet under the sand. No way their detectors could find it," Ethan explained calmly.

"How did we get down here?" Angela asked, even more shocked.

"We just drilled down," Ethan said with a smile.

"I found the place for you. What you want is inside. I kept my promise. Now it's your turn," Ethan reminded Angela.
