Chapter 179 Ethan's Determination
Upon hearing this, KuYi simply smiled and turned his gaze towards Mr. Grant.
“When I fell ill, I had already arranged for Master KuYi to come and help. Unfortunately, Master KuYi was unable to provide assistance, and I was essentially waiting for death in the sanatorium. It was a pleasant surprise when Remington brought you to me. Master KuYi hurried from Mount Wutai upon hearing about your ability to clear the stagnant qi in my body," Mr. Grant explained with a wistful smile.
"I shouldn't ask too much. I'm just curious about why Master KuYi wanted to see me?" Ethan didn't want to touch on the subject of the origins of stagnant qi, whether it was an accident or intentional harm on Mr. Grant's part. Getting involved in the details would only drag him deeper into a quagmire.
Ethan wisely chose to avoid this topic.
"To form a good relationship, that's all!" Master KuYi smiled at Ethan, seemingly having no other thoughts.
But the more this was the case, the more Ethan felt as if he himself was being seen through by the other person.
This so-called Master KuYi and his eyes gave Ethan an eerie feeling, as if, when staring into them for a long time, his own mind would unconsciously be affected.
"If that's the case, then it's the good fortune of the younger generation! If there is nothing else, the younger generation would like to take their leave!"
Ethan also had no intention of investigating the truth behind Master KuYi's words, just wanting to quickly leave this uncomfortable big monk.
Just a moment ago, he realized that he was the leader of the ZF Guild, so what was he doing getting friendly with high-ranking monks from the Buddhist monastery?
Although Francis didn't go into details, Ethan was also aware that the decline of the ZF Guild was definitely related to these abnormal members of the Buddhist monastery.
From this perspective, the Buddhist monastery could still be Ethan's hidden enemy!
This time, Mr. Grant didn't intervene again, and Master KuYi just smiled and watched Ethan leave Mr. Grant's room.
It wasn't until he got in the car that Ethan finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Master KuYi always left him feeling uneasy, but thankfully, that uncomfortable feeling disappeared immediately after getting away from him!
"Master KuYi, how do you see this kid, the Wilson family?"
Ethan didn't know that after he left, Mr. Grant and Master KuYi had another conversation about him.
"Norman, I do have some connection with your son, but the mystery behind it cannot be revealed for now. But rest assured, I won't harm him! As for KuYan, that traitor, for doing such a despicable thing to Norman, this old monk will definitely not let him go and will seek justice for Norman!"
Master KuYi said in a serious tone, and later, a hint of fierceness appeared on his originally innocent-looking face, forming a sharp contrast with before.
"Master KuYi can also rest assured, KuYan's actions will be buried deep in this old man's heart and won't be mentioned to anyone!"
Mr. Grant nodded in agreement, promising.
"God bless you. Norman, your kind-heartedness is commendable. Although there may be dangers in your destiny, you have encountered your son and are destined to not meet a terrible fate! As I said before, under the heavens, the only person who can currently remove the stagnant energy on you is him, I'm afraid!"
Master KuYi shook his head and smiled at the words, unable to help himself.
"Oh? Please forgive this old man's boldness, but does Master KuYi know the origins of Ethan's skills?" Mr. Grant asked with curiosity.
The Master replied, "God said it cannot be spoken of! Norman, please do not trouble this old monk anymore! The old monk will stay in Houston for a while, until Mr. Wilson leaves. I will not disturb you today!"
KuYi shook his head and seemed to be ready to leave.
His purpose in coming here was actually for Ethan, and since Ethan had already left, he naturally had no reason to stay.
"Ethan will come to me the day after tomorrow. Will Master KuYi come again?" Mr. Grant seemed to want to retain his presence.
"I and Mr. Wilson will meet again. There is no need to meet here, we can meet in other places. Take care, Norman!" Master KuYi said, then turned and left freely.
Watching him stride away, he disappeared from their sights in the blink of an eye. How could one tell he was in his seventies or eighties?
"Ethan...you really make this old man perplexed!" Master KuYi's attitude towards Ethan once again furrowed Mr. Grant's brow, causing him to sink into deep thought.
Coming out from the inner courtyard, Ethan was still crouching and sneaking out from under the seat. It seemed that the Miller family had put in a lot of effort to find him!
But Ethan knew very well that it wasn't the time to confront the Miller family yet. The Card of Rodolfo could only be played at specific times to have a surprising effect!
Returning to the Remington home smoothly, Remington and Sarah asked about the progress of Ethan's treatment for Mr. Grant as usual.
Ethan casually brushed it off, still pondering on who KuYi really was. It would be necessary to ask Francis about it when they meet again!
Of course, Ethan didn't tell Remington and Sarah about Master KuYi. Even he himself couldn't be sure of the other's origin, so there was nothing much to say.
After staying with the Walker family for a night, Ethan bid farewell and left the next morning with Sarah.
The driver drove and directly sent the two of them to Houston International Airport because Clarence's plane was about to arrive in Houston this morning.
It had been prearranged that Ethan and Sarah would pick up Clarence and go to the Harris family together in Houston.
"It's been a few days in Houston, is everything going smoothly?" Clarence asked with a smile when he saw Ethan again.
"Thank you for your concern, everything is fine. Remington is living up to expectations and will be resolved soon," Ethan replied noncommittally.
Great! I was worried you might be unsure and think it's all settled. You need to understand that this is a crucial opportunity for you. Especially in a competitive city like Houston, it's essential to leverage your strengths to solidify your position," Clarence nodded approvingly.
"I not only want to secure my position, but also win the game!" Ethan said earnestly.
"Good! I look forward to seeing how you plan to play this game! Today, I will take you to the Harris family, and you will definitely meet my older brother. I have already talked to him, his attitude isn't clear yet, but there shouldn't be a problem. Are you ready?" Clarence asked, pleased.
Clarence nodded appreciatively before shifting the conversation and inquired, "It's all about seizing opportunities. But as of now, I haven't had the chance to showcase this advantage. It might be challenging to make Grandpa truly appreciate me. Today, I'll need your help, Grandpa!
Ethan chuckled and nodded. "No worries. All you need is a chance to attend the engagement banquet with the Harris family. That should be easy to arrange. The crucial part is proving to my stubborn older brother that you can deliver the results he expects tomorrow. That will shape the future relationship between you and the Harris family.
Clarence emphasized with a serious tone, "Understood. Tomorrow, I will make sure everyone remembers my name!"
Ethan nodded in agreement as they spoke. Just then, the car sent by the Harris family to pick up Clarence pulled up. They all got into the car and made their way to the Harris family's residence.
