Chapter 541 Meeting Raymond Again
"You don't gotta be so formal, man. There's a tea set on the table, and some leftover tea from last time. Help yourself." Raymond grinned, not the least bit annoyed.
"Well, don't mind if I do!" Ethan's eyes lit up, and he started pouring himself some tea.
"So, what's up?" Raymond finally cut to the chase.
Ethan, cool as a cucumber, said, "To be real, I just got back from Kyro and even had a run-in with Cross Christianity."
Raymond's interest piqued, "Oh yeah? So, you must've found something juicy, right?"
"Yep. I found Herman, the guy who went MIA from the Wilson family years ago, and brought him back to the Tiger Mount secret realm," Ethan laid it all out there.
"Oh?" Raymond's eyes sparkled with curiosity.
Ethan went on, "From what he said, I confirmed one thing. Our hunch was spot on. The token of Cross Christianity the Wilson family found was indeed left by Matthew."
"So, it's a done deal. Matthew was part of Cross Christianity." Raymond nodded, piecing it together.
Ethan got serious, "That's right. But here's the kicker—I think he had his own agenda, or he was just using Cross Christianity."
Raymond frowned, clearly taken aback, "What makes you say that?"
"If I told you he had crazy power years ago, way beyond yours, would you buy it?" Ethan paused, then asked seriously.
Raymond looked surprised but quickly said, "I believe it."
"At first, I couldn't wrap my head around it. Why do you believe it so easily?" Now Ethan was the one surprised.
"Because of you." Raymond nodded, still smiling.
"Because of me?" Ethan frowned, confused.
Raymond chuckled, "Yeah. You must've felt it yourself. Everything happening to you seems like it's been set up by someone behind the scenes, right?"
"So, you noticed it a while ago." Ethan was even more surprised.
"It's not that hard to pick up on these clues. But I bet you got more to spill, right?" Raymond switched gears and asked.
"Man, you really are a mind reader. Looks like you already know what I'm about to say." Ethan nodded slowly.
"What do you think of the Celestia Vale secret realm?" Raymond asked, still smiling.
"You want the truth?" Ethan raised an eyebrow.
"Of course." Raymond nodded.
"Honestly, the Celestia Vale secret realm originally belonged to the ZF Guild and was part of the Tiger Mount secret realm. It's always good to have your own stuff, right?" Ethan stared at Raymond, waiting for a reaction.
To his surprise, Raymond just nodded with a smile, "That's right. Let's not get into the whole Celestia Vale debate right now. There are actually a bunch of secret realms like Celestia Vale all over Vexa."
"Man, you really do know what I'm about to say. Herman told me that Cross Christianity has this ancient book that shows where and how to open some secret realms. Apparently, that book came from Celestia Vale," Ethan squinted, keeping his cool.
"Yep, it did come from Celestia Vale. That's why we've been busting our butts to keep Cross Christianity from pushing east all these years." Raymond sighed, looking a bit worn out.
Ethan pressed on, "Just as I thought. Can you spill more details?"
"I've already told you about the origins of Cross Christianity, so you should be in the loop. A lot of them were defectors from Celestia Vale. That ancient book was swiped by one of them ages ago. This was way back, and I only found out from the Celestia Vale archives." Raymond smiled bitterly.
Ethan frowned, "Didn't they leave any clues? I mean, that ancient book originally belonged to Celestia Vale. It doesn't add up that no one knows its contents after it got stolen, right?"
"You know, it's tough to pull one over on you, but I'm being straight with you. If anyone knew where those secret realms were, we wouldn't be constantly on guard against Cross Christianity trying to snatch them," Raymond said with a wry smile.
Ethan was left speechless. Raymond's logic was solid. If Celestia Vale had any clues, those secret realms would already be theirs. It made sense.
Raymond got serious, "Actually, that ancient book was never really discovered before. It was just sitting in the Celestia Vale library. It was only when that sneaky person stumbled upon it that they decided to defect."
"So, the only clues to those secret realms are tied to Cross Christianity." Ethan was clearly bummed out by this. But he didn't dwell on it too much because Matthew might already know the locations of those secret realms. To be precise, besides Cross Christianity, Matthew was the only one who knew.
Raymond advised earnestly, "Ethan, since you showed up in front of Cross Christianity this time, trouble might come knocking soon. You need to watch your back."
Ethan raised an eyebrow, "You mean Cross Christianity is gonna come after me?"
