Chapter 561 Leo's Past

After the big face-off with Angela, Giuseppe, who was already hanging by a thread, totally crashed and burned, dropping from Half-Step Grandmaster to just your average Joe martial artist. Even if he somehow bounced back, he'd still be just another dude in the crowd.

To make things worse, his heart meridian got messed up, leaving him with a permanent issue. Dude's probably not gonna do anything epic ever again.

"If you really give a damn about him, you better get him outta Everglow ASAP and never look back," Francesco told Matteo.

"Alright, I got it. I'll take him away, but don't start partying just yet," Matteo knew Giuseppe's clout was toast, and sticking around would just make them a laughingstock. He grumbled, then with his crew's help, dragged the knocked-out Giuseppe outta there.

"No way! Mr. Green actually lost like that?"

"What kind of crazy martial arts did Angela use? She wrecked Mr. Green with just one hit!"

"Mr. Green? After today, he’s history in Everglow!"

"So, does that mean the RD Club is up for grabs?"

"Are you nuts? The RD Club isn't just Giuseppe's. There's still Matteo, Giovanni Jones, and Roberto Collins, right?"

"Do you think those guys will back Giuseppe after today?"

"They might've before, but now? Who knows."

"Why not?"

"Didn't you catch who the guy next to Angela said he was?"

"I didn't hear it clearly. Wasn't it Ethan?"

"Yeah, that rings a bell. Oh, I remember now."

As Giuseppe left, the chatter got louder, and some folks even recognized Ethan.

"Alright, show's over. Let's bounce; I don't wanna hang around here," Ethan said to Angela and the crew, looking kinda fed up.

Ten minutes later, Ethan and his gang strolled out of the RD Club.

Francesco gave Ethan a weird look and then said to Angela, "Congrats, Angela. Looks like you finally found a guy worth sticking with."

"Thanks." Angela nodded at Francesco, her cheeks turning pink.

"You're just jealous, aren't you?" Leo sneered.

Francesco looked super awkward hearing that.

"You must have a ton on your plate. Thanks for everything over the years. I won't keep you," Angela said, hinting at more than she was saying.

"Yeah, you're right. With Giuseppe down, there's gonna be a ripple effect. A lot's gonna change in Everglow. I gotta get back, tell my dad, and figure out how to keep things from blowing up." Francesco nodded, not really catching Angela's drift, then hopped into his car.

"Francesco's kinda interesting," Ethan said, watching Francesco's car disappear.

"He's a phony," Leo scoffed.

"Seems like you've been different since Giuseppe showed up. What's the beef between you two? Spill the tea," Ethan asked Leo, looking curious.

"Let's chat in the car. I owe you an explanation. I admit I might've used you, but I'm not the main player here," Leo said, shooting Angela a meaningful look.

"You just need a smack. When did I ever use Ethan? I was just testing if he was serious about me. It's a test, get it?" Angela snapped at Leo, her face all stormy.

"Whatever you say." Leo backed off and hopped into the car.

On the drive back, Leo slowly spilled the beans about his beef with Giuseppe.

Besides Ethan, Angela and Marco already knew the deal, but they kept quiet 'cause they knew it bummed Leo out.

Turns out, Leo once had a thing for a girl, but he accidentally ticked off Giuseppe. The girl got humiliated by Giuseppe and ended up taking her own life, leaving a letter for Leo before she did.

Since then, Leo's been burning with hate for Giuseppe, waiting for the perfect moment to get back at him. Tonight's showdown wasn't just a random thing; it was all part of Leo's plan.

From Leo's balcony, he could see Angela's courtyard. As soon as they stepped out, Leo was in the loop, and everything fell into place.

"Man, that's rough. Letting him leave Everglow is too easy," Ethan sighed after hearing Leo's story.

He admired Leo's patience and was equally shocked by Giuseppe's cruelty.

"Giuseppe's done worse. Angela knows better than any of us," Marco chimed in.

"Shouldn't you fill me in too?" Ethan asked Angela with a grin.

"What do you want me to explain? Didn't I say it before? This was just a test for you. You saw how Giuseppe acted towards me. Don't you think you should do something?" Angela shot back, all casual.

"You think I should do something?" Ethan raised an eyebrow.

"Shouldn't you? Or can you stand a guy always thinking about me?" Angela asked, dead serious.

"You're right. I can't even argue with that. In that case, I guess I still need to try harder." Ethan nodded, smiling wryly.

"What do you mean by that?" Angela asked, frowning.

"Find the nearest hotel. I wanna have a good talk with Angela about life and show my sincerity," Ethan patted Leo, who was driving, on the shoulder and ordered in a tone that brooked no argument.

Leo and Marco exchanged glances.

"Leo, take us home right now. Don't listen to him," Angela blushed, feeling both shy and anxious, and shouted at Leo.

"Think carefully about whose orders to follow," Ethan reminded.

So, three minutes later, the car pulled up at a nearby hotel.

After Ethan got out of the car with Angela in his arms, Leo and Marco didn't stick around. They just gave Ethan a thumbs-up and sped off.

"You jerk, now they'll laugh at me," Angela finally got free and glared at Ethan, gritting her teeth.

"Aren't you my wife? I'm taking my wife to a hotel. Why should I care what others say?" Ethan chuckled, totally unfazed.

"You're not really planning to sleep with me, are you?" Angela asked, nervous.

"What do you think?" Ethan raised an eyebrow, smirking.
