Chapter35 The Head of the Wilson Family
The office was in chaos.
Clark tightly grasped Zachary's scalp, pushing his head into the basin. He didn’t let go, no matter how much Zachary struggled and cried out in pain.
Zachary had desperately tried to keep his mouth shut, not daring to breathe.
However, he didn't last even two minutes.
A series of strange sounds came, mixed with his agonized screams!
They were truly horrifying and bone-chilling screams!
Clark finally released, and Zachary, with a face covered in shit, rushed to the side and vomited uncontrollably.
Everything he had just eaten, along with the lunch he had earlier...
He continued to vomit violently until he could only upheave stomach bile.
In the span of a few moments, Secretary Aaron had finished his investigation.
He walked up to Robert, holding his phone with both hands as he handed it over.
“Embezzlement, accepting bribes... “
Robert pinched his nose with one hand and watched the phone.
After reviewing the investigation results, he gave Ethan the phone with a solemn expression. “Mr. Wilson, the total amount involved is 280 million dollars. This is truly despicable!”
“The sum is enough to sentence him to life in prison while having all these illicit gains confiscated. We can't tolerate and condone such trash and corporate parasites!”
Ethan didn't look at the investigation results, simply returning the phone back to Aaron. After a brief thought, he smiled at Robert and said, “Cloud Group's investment plan in Novaria's southern development zone is already completed. After the project has been completed, it will provide at least 8,000 job positions with annual salaries of no less than 600 million dollars.”
Robert was moved and his heart started racing. He couldn't contain his excitement!
This was a great achievement, a major one!
With just a few of Ethan’s casual words, he had solved the employment problem of 8,000 people. With over 6,000 dollars in average monthly wages, these jobs could sustain 8,000 families and support many people.
It was also another step in Robert's promotion, a tremendous favor!
“Mr. Wilson!” Robert's excitement grew, and even his usually-composed demeanor couldn't hide the excitement on his face, repeatedly expressing his gratitude.
“Within the next three days, Zachary will be sentenced and imprisoned, and the embezzled funds will be returned to Cloud Group. If you have any troubles in the future, feel free to call me. After all, your matters are my matters! Cloud Group, as a super company, will receive full support from Novaria!”
Ethan smiled knowingly. “Mr. Torres, you're just too kind. We've already taken up quite a bit of your time today, so let’s meet up another day.“
“Alright, we must meet again another day!”
Robert laughed heartily and hesitated for a moment. Afterward, he glanced at the secretary and the others kneeling on the ground. “Mr. Wilson, what about them...?“
Ethan didn't even spare them a glance and calmly said, “Take the secretary and Zachary away. As for the security guards, leave them to me.“
Robert nodded, raising his big hand and waved as he shouted, “Take them away!”
Several officers rushed forward and handcuffed the secretary and Zachary.
The secretary was in somewhat better shape than Zachary. Although she was trembling all over and was afraid to say a word, she was still able to walk on her own.
Zachary, on the other hand, was in a miserable state. He had been vomiting continuously since he ate sh*t, and he was now unable to stand up straight. Two officers grabbed him by the ankles, dragging him out like a dead dog.
As they dragged him, he continued to vomit, leaving the entire office in a disgusting mess and an unbearable stench.
It wasn't until Robert and his men left that the commotion settled.
“And you!” Ethan sat on the sofa, looking at the ten kneeling security guards with a cold face.
They were just low-level employees who followed Zachary's orders, but their malicious accusations needed to be taken seriously!
“Everyone will have their monthly salary penalized and receive a formal warning!” he scanned the crowd with his gaze and said solemnly, “If there's a second time, you’ll be fired on the spot!”
The ten security guards were instantly grateful, especially the captain, who couldn't help but burst into tears.
They thought they’d be grateful by not even going to jail, but thankfully, they were also spared from getting fired.
“Have the cleaning staff come and clean up.“
Ethan wrinkled his nose and waved his hand, “As for the vice president, call him over immediately!”
The ten security guards quickly stood up and bowed deeply to Ethan. The captain picked up the stool on the ground before they all lined up and ran out.
In just a few minutes, two cleaning women came and cleaned the office spotless, opening the windows for ventilation and spraying air freshener to extinguish the horrible odor.
Edward, Cloud Infrastructure’s Vice President, hurriedly entered the office and stood in awe in front of Ethan.
“I have two things for you to do,” Ethan spoke lightly, “Zachary’s going to prison, so you’ll temporarily be this company’s CEO for three months. If you do well, you will be given the position permanently.”
Edward was overjoyed and thanked Mr. Wilson profusely.
“Secondly,” Ethan turned his head to look at Chloe, smiling faintly, “The final payment for Chloe Renovations should be paid immediately according to their contract!”
Edward didn't dare delay for even a second, quickly grabbing his phone to contact the finance department.
It took less than half a minute for a notification with the transfer amount to arrive to Chloe's phone.
“6... 6 million and 800,000 dollars?!”
Chloe looked at the transferred amount, her face filled with joy, “Mr. Wilson... “
Ethan replied seriously, “The final payment is 6,200,000 dollars, and the extra 600,000 dollars is compensation. Cloud Group must bear the losses caused by the delayed final payment, especially since we’re friends.”
He extended his right hand toward her with a sincere gaze, “Miss Miller, it's a pleasure to work with you. “
She shook hands with Ethan, gazing into his eyes. She couldn't help but feel her heart racing as her cheeks blushed.
Cloud Group’s chairman, Ethan, was the most outstanding man in all of Novaria.
He was truly remarkable!
“Now that things are settled, we should leave.“ he gently withdrew his hand and got up from the sofa, walking toward his office.
However, just as he took his first step, his phone rang from his pocket.
Stopping, he took out his phone and checked the caller before answering, “Jayden?”
In a nervous voice, Jayden spoke on the other end of the phone, “Sir, something big has happened. I'll try to buy some time, but please come back to the headquarters as soon as possible!”
There seemed to be something he couldn't say over the phone as he offered no explanation before hastily ending the call.
“Something big... “Ethan's expression slightly changed.
Something's not right!
Jayden had been following him for over three years, and always handled things with composure. His behavior just now was completely out-of-character, almost showing some fear!
“Miss Miller,” Ethan didn't hesitate, immediately turning to Chloe as his voice deepened, “Please take me to Cloud Group headquarters immediately. The sooner we arrive, the better!”
Chloe didn't hesitate either and quickly nodded.
On the other side of town, in Cloud Group's office building...
In the top floor conference room, a young man sat on the sofa with his legs crossed, chewing on gum with an impatient expression.
He was Tim, the Wilson family’s new head as well as Ethan's cousin.
“It’s been half an hour, but Ethan hasn't returned yet.”
He glanced at his diamond-studded Rolex and sneered at Jayden, “Which little s*ut did he meet up with this time?”
Jayden's face darkened as he whispered, “You should show respect to Mr. Ethan and address him properly as your cousin.”
“Cousin? Ptuih!”
Tim casually spit out the gum, wearing a disdainful smile, “After today, whether Ethan lives or dies is uncertain. Now, you want me to call him my cousin? Is he worthy of that?!”
Jayden's heart shook, his face filled with shock, “Are you implying... “
Tim glanced at Jayden from the corner of his eye, smiling maliciously, “Old man, you better know your place. You're the Wilson family’s servant, not Ethan's lap dog!”
“He's in a lot of trouble this time; he might even die. If you're smart, you should quickly pledge loyalty to me... “
Jayden's face turned pale; his lips trembling for a moment as he tried to say something more.
Just then, the conference room door swung open as Ethan walked in with large strides. He only glanced briefly at Tim's face before swiftly going to Jayden and talking sternly.
“Jayden, what happened?“
