Chapter 450 No Contact

Curtis and Michelle finally rolled up. The second they stepped into the accident hall, they started grilling Bradley with questions. Once they figured out everything was chill and no cash needed to be forked over, they let out a big sigh of relief.

"Dad, Mom, today's mess was all sorted out thanks to Mr. Cox and Mr. Coleman. If it weren't for them, I'd be in deep trouble!" Bradley quickly introduced Jimmy and Enrique to his folks.

Hearing this, Curtis and Michelle showered Jimmy and Enrique with thanks.

Jimmy was all polite about it, but Enrique couldn't care less and straight-up ignored them, making things a bit awkward.

"I'm doing you a solid today. I'll be in the car!" Enrique patted Jimmy on the shoulder and bounced, clearly not wanting to stick around.

"I'll head out too. Next time, watch your driving. I can't always bail you out!" Jimmy warned Bradley before rushing after Enrique.

"Curtis, since Bradley's good, we're outta here!" Gerald stepped up to say goodbye to Curtis and got ready to leave with Ethan and Jessie.

"You should've left earlier. You were no help at all; you just made things worse!" Bradley sneered, looking all disdainful.

"What are you doing here?" Michelle finally noticed Ethan and Jessie and frowned, questioning them.

Since Bradley said they made things worse, Michelle needed to get the lowdown on what went down!

"They were just trying to help, but Bradley's buddies handled it. It's better this way; no need to trouble them," Gerald quickly explained.

"Gerald, why are you with them?" Curtis asked, clearly annoyed.

"Come on! This is my sister and my nephew. Why shouldn't I be with them? And she's your sister too. Have you forgotten who took care of you when you were little?" Gerald didn't expect Curtis to be so cold and scolded him.

"When I was little, I considered her my sister. But after she ditched us, I don't have a sister anymore!" Curtis said coldly.

"Why are you so stubborn? Jessie's back now. Do you really plan to cut ties forever?" Gerald sighed deeply, surprised at Curtis's deep grudge against Jessie.

"We've already cut ties! Let's go!" Curtis snorted and left with Bradley and Michelle.

Michelle wanted to ask about how they made things worse, but seeing Curtis's face, she held back.

In the car, Michelle finally got the scoop from Bradley about what happened.

"Jessie, thinking her son was some big shot, really dared to take charge. She almost got Bradley into big trouble!" Michelle complained angrily.

"Enough, Jessie is not my sister. Don't mention her again!" Curtis shouted angrily and drove away from the police station.

Bradley had thought about getting his car fixed, but seeing Curtis's dark mood, he decided to keep quiet and call someone else for help.

Fixing the car was gonna cost a lot, so Bradley might have to hit up Curtis for some cash.

He totally forgot that leaving would've been a nightmare if Ethan hadn't stuck around at the police station.

After all, it was an accident, and the cops hadn't wrapped things up yet!

But hey, rules were for regular folks. Anthony knew how to play the game and would handle it for Ethan.

"Mr. Wilson, could you ask your cousin Bradley to come back to the station to sign some papers?" Anthony asked Ethan, all cautious-like.

"Call him yourself!" Ethan snapped, clearly annoyed.

"Alright, I'll get back to it then!" Anthony sighed in relief and scurried off.

Mark hadn't seen Ethan's credentials, but Anthony had!

Ethan was an honorary military advisor with the rank of major general. Even without a formal rank, he was not someone to mess with, not even for Mark!

"Let's bounce!" Jessie said, feeling helpless.

The three of them left the station, and things got tense as they piled into the car.

Curtis's earlier attitude had really gotten to Jessie and Gerald, especially Jessie, who couldn't shake off Curtis's harshness.

"Jessie, Curtis didn't mean it. You should know that after you left, he missed you the most! I don't get why he's acting like this now," Gerald tried to comfort Jessie, noticing her mood.

"I know he's mad at me. I'm not blaming him; it just feels off. I'll be okay in a bit," Jessie shook her head slowly.

"We'll deal with Curtis later. Did you notice the guy who came in after us?" Ethan suddenly reminded them.

"Are you talking about Mr. Coleman?" Jessie asked, her heart skipping a beat.

"Yeah, that's Enrique, the Coleman kid who used to compete with Jared in school. Laura's been his side piece all these years!" Ethan explained calmly.

"Really? I didn't notice that. Do you think Enrique's involved in Jared's wrongful conviction?" Jessie was surprised.

"What are you talking about? I'm lost!" Gerald asked anxiously.

Ethan then gave a quick rundown of the info he had and his suspicions.

"So, you think Enrique had Laura frame Jared?" Gerald got all worked up after hearing Ethan's take.

He couldn't believe they had just bumped into one of the guys who might've framed Jared!

"We're not sure yet. We need proof!" Jessie reminded Gerald, seeing him get all riled up.

"I was planning to ask Jared for some clues and possibilities when we see him," Ethan nodded.

"Jared's getting out tomorrow. We'll find out the truth then. If it really is Enrique, I'll make sure he pays!" Gerald said angrily, gritting his teeth.

"Chill out. We'll know more after we see Jared. Let's pick up Emily from the guesthouse first, and don't tell her about this yet. We'll talk tomorrow," Jessie continued to calm Gerald down.

After a bit, Gerald finally cooled off. Worried about dragging Ethan and Jessie into this mess, he sighed. "I was too angry. Even if it was Enrique, with his power, how can we get justice?"

"Don't sweat it. Since I promised to handle this, I'll get you an answer!" Ethan assured confidently.
