Chapter 638 The Mysterious and Powerful Man
"You guys hang tight out here. I gotta break this Magic Circle before we can head in," Ethan said, turning to Patricia and Deborah.
"Go ahead, Mr. Wilson," Patricia replied with a polite nod.
Ethan then led Kenneth and Shane straight into the secret entrance of the ML Guild. Orla, seeing this, quickly jumped into the passage, leaving Deborah a bit bummed out since she wanted to get closer to her.
Just as they suspected, there was no need to figure out how to open the passage. The token Dirk had was the perfect key, kinda like the Token of the Gods from Celestia Vale.
Ethan's Sun and Moon Beads worked the same way, but honestly, Dirk's token and the Token of the Gods had nothing on the Sun and Moon Beads—they were way better.
Patricia and Deborah didn't have to wait long outside. Before they knew it, Ethan was back.
"You broke the Magic Circle that fast?" Deborah asked, eyes wide at the sight of the two crystals in Ethan's hand.
"That was actually slow. If I wasn't worried about messing up the secret realm's stability, it would've been done in a flash," Ethan chuckled, waving them over to re-enter the space passage.
Still in shock, Patricia and Deborah exchanged glances and followed him in.
The ML Guild's secret realm wasn't huge. Compared to Tiger Mount and Celestia Vale, it was pretty small. But there were still quite a few ML Guild disciples inside, mostly newbies or weaker female members.
After Ethan roughly broke the Magic Circle, the whole gate shook like crazy but soon settled down. Even so, it freaked out the ML Guild disciples inside.
With the Magic Circle down, the real ML Guild gate was wide open for Ethan and his crew.
Kenneth and Shane stayed back to handle the people while Ethan went out to get Patricia and the others.
Most of the ML Guild disciples were still in shock, trying to wrap their heads around what just happened.
"Mr. Wilson, there are actually two master-level experts guarding this place," Kenneth informed Ethan as he re-entered the secret realm.
Kenneth's senses covered almost the entire area, making everything crystal clear—no one could escape his notice. Right then, the two experts were rushing from the depths of the secret realm towards the gate.
"Leave them for now. We'll deal with them after we loot the ML Guild. As for the others, handle them however you see fit," Ethan said, losing interest in the ML Guild. If he wasn't worried about missing something valuable, he wouldn't have bothered coming in.
He was way more interested in Orla. But now wasn't the time to chat with her. Orla seemed pretty chill; as long as Ethan didn't talk to her, she'd stay quiet and follow him obediently.
Hearing Ethan talk about looting the ML Guild, Patricia and Deborah couldn't help but twitch their mouths.
While Ethan and his crew were busy looting the ML Guild, a space passage appeared in mid-air over a mountain range a thousand miles away. Several figures quickly emerged from the passage and landed in the dense forest.
The middle-aged guy leading the pack had a grim look, wrapped in a black cloak, radiating a fierce and powerful vibe.
"How long has it been since anyone dared to mess with the Hills Guild?" he growled, his voice dripping with anger.
If Ethan were here, he'd instantly recognize this guy as Kirk, looking just like the puppet Kirk he had destroyed!
"Kirk, the ML Guild's toast. Ethan's probably wiped out all traces. Dirk's dead. Do we really need to go now?" an old man named Daryl Fields, who seemed to be Kirk's right-hand man, asked. His aura was hard to read, but his position in the group made it clear he was second only to Kirk.
"Dirk's been secretly collecting Magic Stones for me for years, delivering a few every three years. It's almost time for another delivery! Dirk's dead, but those Magic Stones can't be lost! And the Moonhowl is useful to me. We gotta get it back from Ethan!" Kirk's face was stern, his tone leaving no room for argument.
"You're not going anywhere. Turn around and go back where you came from!" a man's indifferent voice suddenly echoed from above.
Hearing this, everyone's expression changed, even Kirk's eyes widened in shock! Kirk, who was almost at the legendary level, couldn't believe someone had snuck up on him without him noticing!
Everyone turned to see a middle-aged man in modern casual clothes standing calmly on a mountainside.
"Got a beef with the Hills Guild?" Kirk asked, trying to gauge the man's strength. The unfriendly tone made it clear this guy was no friend.
"Nope," the man replied, shaking his head slowly.
"Then why are you stopping me?" Kirk demanded, eyes locked on the man.
"No particular reason. Just don't want you leaving the Hills Guild," the man chuckled, his casual explanation almost making Kirk lose his cool.
"Who are you? If we've offended you, we apologize. Please let Kirk handle his business," Daryl said, smiling and bowing politely. His words were meant to defuse the situation, but the man's dangerous aura made it clear he wasn't to be messed with.
The man, however, seemed indifferent to Daryl's politeness. He shook his head again, "I'll say it one more time. Go back where you came from. Don't make me act, or the Hills Guild's fate will be sealed!"
The man's unyielding stance took everyone by surprise, making Kirk and his crew even more tense.
"Who are you? If you want me to turn back, at least give me a good reason!" Kirk demanded, barely holding back his anger.
But as soon as he showed a hint of aggression, he felt an even more terrifying aura from the man, making his heart race! His instincts screamed that if he made a move, he might not make it out alive!
This guy, who appeared out of nowhere, was insanely strong! Could he already be at the legendary level?
