Chapter 614 The Formidable Margare
Bonnie finished talking, yanked the handbrake, hopped out of the car, and sprinted after Margare, who was still totally clueless.
Ethan shot Kenneth a look and sighed. One Bonnie was already too much, and now there was Margare too! Bonnie was definitely gonna drag Margare back to the car.
Kenneth smirked at Ethan. Ethan rolled his eyes. "Seriously, you're supposed to be a master. Can’t you act like one?"
Kenneth chuckled, and just then, they saw Bonnie hauling Margare back to the car.
Margare looked super annoyed, grumbling about her friends not helping her. But then she spotted Ethan in Bonnie's car, and her eyes lit up.
Without Bonnie needing to pull any harder, Margare quickly opened the passenger door and jumped in. "Ethan, are you and Bonnie a thing?" Margare asked, all excited. Kenneth perked up, but Ethan's glare shut him up real quick.
"Margare, stop talking nonsense!" Bonnie snapped as she got back in the car.
"Aren't you two dating? Didn't you get a room last night?" Margare shot back, shocking everyone. Even Kenneth's eyes went wide.
"Do you want me to sew your mouth shut? I went back to Patricia's last night!" Bonnie shot a glance at Ethan, seeing his annoyed face, and quickly defended herself.
"I thought you didn't come back all night and really got a room with him. I mean, you should go for it, right? He saved you, don't you like him?" Margare said, looking all serious.
"That's ridiculous. He didn't just save me; he saved you too. Why don't you see yourself with him?" Bonnie was almost too mad to speak.
"Actually, that makes sense. I thought you liked him. If you don't want him, I do. Ethan, wanna date?" Margare's eyes sparkled as she turned to Ethan, asking straight up. Ethan felt like he was about to lose it. This girl wasn't even twenty!
"Margare, didn't you hear me tell you to shut up?" Bonnie yelled, then awkwardly apologized to Ethan, "Sorry, Mr. Wilson. She likes to joke around, don't take it seriously!"
"I'm serious! Don't you think he's handsome? And he saved us. I gotta repay him!" Margare hummed, not caring at all. Ethan couldn't help but laugh. Margare calling him handsome was kinda nice! "No need for that. But I gotta say, you have good taste!" Ethan grinned.
Bonnie wanted to say something, but Ethan raised his hand to stop her. "Let's drive first. Should we take Margare home?"
"No way! Where are you going? Take me with you!" Margare got all anxious and, with surprising agility, moved from the passenger seat to the back, sitting right next to Ethan, almost throwing herself onto him!
"I'll sit in the front!" Kenneth quickly moved to the passenger seat.
"We have important stuff to do. Taking you along might be a hassle," Ethan tried to reason with her.
"Margare, stop it. We really have important business to take care of!" Bonnie said, feeling a twinge of jealousy seeing Margare so close to Ethan. She wished it was her clinging to Ethan.
"Taking me along won't mess up your plans. I'll be good, promise!" Margare pleaded with Ethan, her eyes welling up with tears.
Ethan sighed, realizing he had no way to deal with Margare. Seeing her pitiful look, Ethan softened. "Fine, let Margare come along. It won't be dangerous anyway." He smiled helplessly at Bonnie, who looked like she was about to explode.
"Let's go!" Margare immediately hugged Ethan's arm and smirked at Bonnie. Bonnie was quite furious.
Ethan wisely kept quiet. He had figured out Margare's tactics; if he took her seriously, he'd only end up frustrated. But the soft sensation on his arm made Ethan's body gradually stiffen. He tried to pull his arm out of Margare's grip, but she held on tight, so he gave up. After all, he wasn't the one at a disadvantage.
Bonnie gritted her teeth in anger, but since Ethan had agreed, she had to ignore it and started driving again. But she couldn't help glancing at Margare and Ethan through the rearview mirror, feeling more and more upset.
