Chapter 116 The Worries of the Harris Family
Andrew and the others had all left, leaving Sebastian awkwardly standing in place. Until Sarah also walked away, he didn't dare to say a word out of worry he’d embarrass himself!
He didn’t know how powerful the Harris family really was, but YL Group’s reputation was loud and clear. Even with his status, he didn't dare offend them.
“Ethan, was that Sarah from YL Group?” Hannah approached Ethan and asked, looking at Sarah's receding figure.
“That's right, she’s the Harris family’s young miss and YL Group’s current CEO. She’s in charge of all of her family’s jewelry businesses.” Ethan explained truthfully, without hiding anything.
“Then, is there a possibility we could collaborate with that company?” Hannah was tempted, thinking it’d be a waste not to utilize such resources.
“Miss Collins, Mr. Wilson doesn't seem interested in collaborating with the Harris family. Otherwise, given the relationship Miss Harris just showed they have, he would’ve done it a long time ago!” Beckett seemed to understand Ethan's stance and quietly replied to Hannah.
“That's correct. I’m currently not planning a collaboration with YL Group, but that's only temporary.” Ethan nodded without confirming or denying.
Hearing this, Hannah felt slightly disappointed. She wasn’t overly ambitious, but she just believed she had missed a good partnership opportunity.
What a pity!
But from what Ethan said, it seemed that there might be future collaboration, which gave her a glimmer of hope.
“Hmph, why haven't you left yet? Your master has already left! Are you staying here to teach me a lesson?” Beckett sneered at Sebastian, who hasn't left yet. Sebastian's words and actions earlier deeply hurt him. At this time, he had no intention of giving the man anymore respect!
“You know I was in a rough spot; I had no choice but to say those things!” Hearing this, Sebastian was embarrassed and immediately turned to Ethan, explaining with a pained look.
To YL Group, he was like what Beckett was to him; nothing!
With Ethan and Sarah’s relationship, Sebastian was caught in a dilemma and was afraid they’d punish him.
In this situation, even in front of someone far inferior to him like Beckett, Sebastian could only lower his proud head.
“Hmph! Today, I’ve finally seen your so-called friendship. You, my friend, have truly disappointed me! Leave immediately. I have nothing more to say to you!” Beckett didn't want to talk further, impatiently ordering Sebastian to leave.
Seeing Beckett's resoluteness, Sebastian knew there was no way to salvage the situation and immediately walked away.
Ethan raised an eyebrow and asked Beckett, “Is he the friend you mentioned earlier?”
“That's right. I initially wanted to introduce him to you, but...” Beckett sighed with embarrassment.
“It's fine! Next time, you two should be careful with the Johnsons discreetly seeking revenge. However, with Sarah causing a commotion, they probably wouldn't dare to act openly!” Ethan reassured the two of them, not taking it to heart.
He did want to find out the bead’s origins, but now, Ethan didn’t plan to ask even if Sebastian really knew about it.
This kind of person simply couldn't be relied upon!
At noon, Ethan went to Chloe's company, wanting to have a meal with her. However, he soon found out Chloe had already left early morning, seemingly for something important.
He didn't think much of it and decided to wait for her return.
On the other hand, as soon as Sarah returned home, Clarence directly called her into his study. It was evident he had heard about what happened at the jewelry exhibition today.
She had been mentally prepared, but upon entering the study and seeing Clarence's serious look, slight guilt came across her face.
“Grandpa... You want to ask me about what happened this morning, right?”
Seeing his silence as he stared straight at her, Sarah felt a bit nervous.
She couldn't stand the invisible aura and pressure beneath Clarence's silence!
Clarence coldly snorted, “You still have the gall to say that? Did you publicly say YL Group would block the Johnson family from entering the jewelry industry without my permission?”
“Who told that Andrew to be so arrogant? He said he’d bankrupt anyone who helps Ethan. I wanted to see if he could bankrupt the Harris family!” Sarah objected, disgruntled.
“And by doing that, I suppose you’re announcing that our family is siding with Ethan?! Do you know the consequences of doing this?” Clarence slammed his hand on the table, startling her.
It was definitely the first time he got so angry with her. Her eyes turned red as she pouted, showing her sadness. Seeing her pitiful look, his heart softened. His anger just now was mainly an act, and he couldn’t bear seeing her actually cry.
“Do you think you're helping Ethan by doing this? Do you think I'm heartless and cruel for doing this?” Clarence weakly sighed, his tone mellowing.
Sarah defended herself in distress, “I was angry, and I already promised Chloe I’d help him!”
“You're not helping him; you’re just harming him! Don't you know that the main family already warned me not to get too close to Ethan? If what you did today reached their ears, then—”
Clarence was interrupted by the phone on the table suddenly ringing.
The two of them looked at each other, wondering if something bad would happen. As expected, Clarence answered the call and heard Carlos's voice from the other end.
“What Sarah did today at the jewelry exhibition, was it your idea?” Carlos directly asked, not wasting a single word.
“Sarah acted on her own. After all, Ethan saved her life in Seattle! I hope you can understand!” Helpless, Clarence glared at Sarah and only then began to explain.
“I don't want to know the reasoning behind it, but this matter ends here. Make sure Sarah behaves herself! If there’s another time, don't blame me for punishing you two as an elder brother!”
After that, Carlos ended the call without any courtesy.
“What did he say?” Sarah asked, looking worried.
“He has made this an exception. Silly girl, calm down and think before making decisions next time! By openly declaring your support for Ethan right now, how do you think the Wilson family, who’s secretly watching him, will react? Even if we don't publicly support him now, we can still help him behind the scenes. But if the family announces their stance, we’ll have no room for redemption!” Clarence emphasized with great weight.
“I know. It'll be hard to help him next time without using the Harris family's identity!” Sarah pouted, stubborn and unwilling to give up.
Seeing her determined look, Clarence sighed inwardly as he wondered what she was pondering about.
