Chapter 555 RD Club
Marco suddenly had a lightbulb moment and yanked Leo by the arm, "Dude, are you nuts? You're taking Angela to the RD Club? Did you forget who runs that joint?"
"Angela's a big girl. If she doesn't wanna go, you think I can stop her?" Leo shot back, rolling his eyes.
Marco was left with his jaw on the floor.
Ethan caught wind of their chat. He glanced at Angela, who was stone-faced and didn't say a word. She just popped open the back door, and he slid into the back seat of the Audi without a peep.
"So, I heard when you first hit Everglow, you crashed the Miller-Ashford engagement party to snatch Chloe?" Angela asked out of nowhere once they were in the car.
"That's old news, right?" Ethan glanced at Marco and Leo, who looked like they'd seen a ghost, and scratched his nose, feeling kinda awkward.
"Hold up, Angela, Ethan, that's a lot to process. Ethan, you jacked someone's fiancée?" Marco blurted out, eyes wide.
"That whole Miller-Ashford mess was the talk of the town. How are you just now hearing this?" Leo smacked Marco upside the head and then turned to Ethan with a grin, "Didn't think you'd be the star of that show."
"Mind your business and drive, or I'm outta here," Angela snapped, clearly annoyed.
"Alright, alright, we're going," Leo said, firing up the engine and speeding out of the gate, worried Angela might bail.
Marco and Leo kept their mouths shut but had their ears wide open, listening to the conversation in the back.
"If I was being forced into marriage, would you pull the same stunt for me?" Angela ignored the guys up front and locked eyes with Ethan.
Ethan sighed, knowing Angela's stubborn streak would lead to all kinds of wild thoughts, even comparing herself to Chloe.
"If anyone tries to force you into marriage, I'll make sure the dude disappears. If he shows his face, I'll break it. Happy now?" Ethan promised with a crooked smile.
"Talk is cheap. Let's see if you can back it up," Angela smirked, clearly pleased with his answer.
Ethan suddenly got a bad vibe, remembering Marco and Leo's earlier chat. He was getting more and more suspicious about the RD Club.
"Is it too late to bail now?" Ethan muttered, feeling a bit uneasy.
"What do you think?" Angela shot back, raising an eyebrow.
Ethan could only shake his head with a rueful grin. Marco didn't notice that Leo, who was driving, was practically buzzing with excitement.
Half an hour later, the Audi rolled up to a buzzing main street. Ethan spotted the neon sign of the RD Club and knew right away this anything but ordinary.
The RD Club's building wasn't tall, just five stories, but it sprawled out over a huge area. No other shops or signs around—this whole block was club territory.
"We're here. Let's roll," Leo said, practically bouncing as he hopped out of the car.
Ethan and Angela followed, stepping out onto the sidewalk.
"Alright, let's get inside. Didn't you say you could snag a private room? Make it happen," Marco nudged Leo, sounding impatient.
"Piece of cake, follow me." Leo grinned, flashing his gold membership card as he led the way to the entrance.
With Leo's gold card, they breezed through security and strolled into the club's main hallway.
"The first floor's all offices and restricted zones. The fun starts on the second floor, and each level's got its own vibe. Members and their guests can only hang in their designated spots," Leo explained, leading them up a wide staircase to the second floor.
"So, what's your gold card get us?" Ethan asked, raising an eyebrow.
Leo looked a bit sheepish.
"Let me break it down. I got a membership too, but it's just silver, so I don't flaunt it. I always ride on Leo's gold card," Marco chimed in, "The club's got levels: Supreme, Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Regular. Gold's just middle of the pack."
"Marco, you're killing me here. If you're so hot, get me a Platinum or Supreme card," Leo shot back, feeling a bit stung.
"Yeah, gold does sound kinda basic," Ethan nodded, agreeing with Marco.
"Ethan, cut me some slack. I had to pull strings to get this gold card. You don't know how powerful the folks behind the RD Club are. You'll see," Leo said, looking a bit defeated.
"Alright, just get us that private room," Marco pushed again.
Leo, looking a bit down, headed to the service desk on the second floor and made his request to the uniformed receptionist.
"Sorry, Mr. Martinez, all the private rooms in the gold area are booked. Would you like to try the hall or the silver area instead?" The receptionist's words hit Leo like a ton of bricks.
"Seriously? Not one room left?" Leo was floored.
"Why fuss over a private room? The hall looks fine," Angela finally spoke up.
"Angela's got a point. Let's hit the hall," Leo's eyes lit up, while Marco looked a bit unsure.
