Chapter 142 Total Buyout

It didn’t take long before Ethan sent the bodyguards flying. Tables and chairs were smashed to pieces as the hotel staff stood by the side, helplessly watching the spectacle unfold. On one hand, they dared not offend the wealthy scions, and on the other, Ethan's strength had everyone in shock—no one had the guts to stir the pot further.

"You call these men strong? Do you have anyone more challenging? This wasn’t even a warm-up for me!" Ethan casually eyed Tommy and his associates, his boredom visible.

Tommy and the other rich kids exchanged worried glances. They couldn't believe Ethan easily defeated their expensive, top-tier bodyguards, dropping like flies.

"You... you're done for! Do you have any idea what it means to anger us? We’ll unite against you! If you're so tough, give us your name! I’ll make you regret this!" Tommy glared at Ethan, his face filled with frustration. This turn of events was an absolute humiliation; not only to them, but their dads as well!

If word got out that five prominent figures from Baytown had been defeated by an outsider, how could they ever hold their heads up high again?

"You want my name? Fine; It's Ethan. If you’re itching for revenge, bring it on. That is, if you could ever do that," Ethan laughed, his confidence sending chills down the rich young men.

"You... What’re you implying? Are you saying you could take us all down right here?" Tommy's forehead dripped with cold sweat, his voice trembling.

"I’m a law-abiding citizen. How could I murder people? Besides, what good would there be in taking out trash like you?" Ethan regarded Tommy with a pitiful look.

Although infuriated, Tommy and the others felt relief. As long as Ethan didn’t want to fight, everything else seemed negotiable.

"We admit defeat today, but this isn't over. I swear you'll face the consequences of crossing me, Tommy!" It was clear that Tommy was looking for an out. He knew he couldn't win in a direct fight, so he thought of a shadier approach. In Baytown, he couldn’t imagine being unable to handle an outsider.

"Not so fast! You can’t just leave with all this damage you've caused to the hotel. You will compensate for this, won’t you?" Ethan’s reminder came with a smile that was both sly and assertive.

Just as Tommy and his group were about to leave, they abruptly stopped. Their faces contorted with a mix of emotions.

"Ethan, right? Don’t go too far! You clearly broke all this stuff; why should we have to pay?"

Tommy pointed to Ethan, his face flushed from anger as he yelled.

"So, you’re refusing?" Ethan casually asked while shrugging.

"We won't; what can you do about it? If you can, kill us now! If you can’t, then quit yapping. I'll settle this debt with you sooner or later!" Tommy hissed through clenched teeth, sneering coldly.

"I knew you guys wouldn't comply easily. Since you’re refusing, I guess I'll have to take matters into my own hands!" Ethan sighed helplessly before dialing Jovan's number.

"How are the preparations going?" he blandly asked.

"Everything’s arranged so far. As soon as you give the word, we can take over all five of the companies you just mentioned!" Jovan's voice came through the phone. With Sedikus Investment Group’s market presence and network, acquiring a few small companies was as easy as blowing off dust.

Three years ago, after collaborating with Senior Edward, the company had been quietly building power within various provinces and cities at home, all to pave the way for Ethan's future expansion.

His strategy had proven to be absolutely correct.

Ethan nodded in satisfaction and instructed, "Alright, let's begin. The first ones in our Baytown conquest will be those five companies!"

"Understood!" Jovan replied before hanging up, obviously going to complete his instructions.

"What are you scheming, kid? Who were you talking to?" Tommy asked Ethan, his expression shifting uncertainly.

"Since you won’t pay, I've chosen to resolve this in a different way. I'll cover today's damages by myself," Ethan calmly said as he put his phone away.

"Hmph, at least you still know when to be scared! However, you’re too late. After offending all five of us, you won’t have bright days ahead of you. I won't let you off!" Tommy mistook Ethan's actions for fear and submission.

Ethan said with a sly grin, "Heh... Your imagination is quite big. I will pay for the hotel, but I will recoup my losses from your family's businesses. After all, I've already ordered to take over your fathers' companies. I wonder if you can still be arrogant after I bring down the companies you're so proud of?"

He looked at Tommy and his group with a smirk, nonchalantly asking.

Hearing this, the young men were momentarily surprised.

It took them a few seconds to recover before they burst into strong laughter.

They all seemed to be mocking Ethan's audacity.

"You want to buy our companies? That's not how you exaggerate a tale! I'm dying of laughter here!"

"The weakest among us has a family business worth at least several hundred million; together, we're making billions. Don't tell me you've got that kind of money to take over us?"

"I think you've got water in your brain! If you could take over all five of our companies, I'll immediately crawl out of here backward!"

  ...

They were all scoffing at Ethan, clearly convinced nobody believe such a silly idea.

"Hey, I don't think you're bluffing, but why on earth would you want to buy so many coal companies? Are you planning on selling coal?" Sarah asked, her face full of suspicion.

"I'll explain later; these guys still don't believe me. Aren’t they hurting my reputation?" Ethan said, touching his nose and looking dejected.

"You should at least draft your tall tales before blurting them out. You've definitely embarrassed yourself today!"

  Tommy laughed even harder.

"Is that so?" Ethan retorted, raising his eyebrows and staring back at Tommy indifferently.

Just then, Tommy's phone suddenly rang.

Almost at the same time, the other men’s phones also rang, their ring tones making a racket. They all looked surprised as they checked the caller ID, all of them being their dads!

They felt chills, and the way they looked at Ethan changed as an ominous feeling surged uncontrollably within them.

"Aren't going to answer the calls? If I'm not wrong, your dads must be calling, right?" Ethan said, his smile growing brighter as he watched their reactions.
