Chapter 437 A Jester

Beverly shot Logan a dirty look, her face twisted in disgust.

"Man, you look like a total clown right now, a self-righteous idiot who doesn't even know he's being played. I didn't want to sink to your level, but do you seriously think you can look down on Ethan?" Beverly's words made Logan's face turn even uglier.

She didn't hold back at all, totally ripping Logan apart!

Honestly, Beverly was being nice. Logan was annoying, sure, but he wasn't evil—just plain dumb.

If it were anyone else, Beverly might've had him kicked out of the Cloud Group!

"Who... who are you calling a clown?" Logan stammered, his eyes blazing with anger!

"Not only do you look like a clown, but you must be deaf too. Wasn't I clear enough? Compared to Ethan, you're nothing. Stop yelling at me, or I'll kick your ass!"

Beverly was at her wit's end with Logan. She finally got why Ethan had Trevor as her bodyguard; it was totally necessary!

"I'd like to see you try." Logan didn't expect Beverly to talk to him like this and laughed in sheer anger.

"Trevor, stop him. If he says another word of nonsense, throw him out!" Beverly couldn't be bothered with Logan anymore and turned to Trevor, who had followed her out.

But as soon as she said it, she regretted it. Trevor was a Half-Step Grandmaster, after all. It wasn't right to boss him around like that.

"No problem!" Trevor nodded, looking every bit the part of a bodyguard, which made Beverly breathe a sigh of relief.

"Ridiculous! Who dares to touch me? Do you not want to stay in the Wilson family anymore?" Logan sneered, not expecting Beverly to give such an order.

"He doesn't need to see your face!" Beverly couldn't care less, looking at Logan's arrogant mug with even more disdain.

A flash of panic crossed Logan's eyes. If it were Beverly's bodyguard, he wouldn't be worried, but the problem was that Trevor was brought by Ethan!

"You think you're the only one with a bodyguard?" Logan snorted and clapped his hands. Two bodyguards standing in the hallway walked over.

Beverly didn't expect Logan to resort to force. Was he really out of his mind?

"I just wanted to have a good talk and show you a better path, but you don't appreciate it and instead threaten me. I brought these guys just for self-protection!" Logan snorted.

He was telling the truth. Even if he didn't expect to get beaten, he knew he had to bring some muscle to the Cloud Group!

But these two bodyguards were nothing to Trevor!

"Do what you need to do. Just don't hurt him." Beverly gave Trevor a helpless look and then turned to leave.

"Beverly, stop right there!" Logan panicked when he saw Beverly leaving. His whole point in coming was to team up with Beverly to oppose Ethan's rise to head of the family. He wasn't confident at first, but when Ethan said he'd reclaim all the family's assets, he thought he had a shot at convincing Beverly. He didn't expect her to shut him down completely!

"Logan, take the elevator that way!" Trevor stepped in front of Logan, pointing to the other side and giving him a heads-up.

"Who the hell do you think you are? Talking to me like that?" Logan didn't expect Trevor to have the guts to stop him, and he cursed, his face turning red with anger.

"If you don't leave, I'll have to show you the door myself!" Trevor warned, his face like stone.

"I'd like to see you try! What are you two standing there for? Teach him a lesson and show him some respect!" Logan, fuming, turned and barked at his two bodyguards.

But the bodyguards didn't budge, their faces pale as they stared at Trevor, sweat dripping down their foreheads.

"Are you deaf? Didn't you hear me? Teach him a lesson!" Logan couldn't believe his bodyguards were ignoring him. He kicked one of them in frustration.

"We can't take him!" The bodyguard looked at Logan with a pitiful expression, trying to clue him in.

"What? Didn't you say you could handle anyone as long as they're not a Half-Step Grandmaster? How did Zephyr send me two useless guys?" Logan was losing it.

These bodyguards were top-notch, just below the Half-Step Grandmaster level, sent by Zephyr to protect him. But Zephyr probably didn't expect Ethan to hook Beverly up with a Half-Step Grandmaster bodyguard!

"Sorry, but I am a Half-Step Grandmaster! So, you wanna leave on your own, or do I have to make you?" Trevor, usually so stiff, found Logan's reaction amusing and gave him another chance.

Beverly had just told him not to hurt Logan. Scaring him off without a fight was the best move.

"You're a Half-Step Grandmaster?" Logan was stunned, staring at Trevor like he'd seen a ghost.

"He really is a Half-Step Grandmaster!" The two bodyguards could feel the dangerous vibe coming off Trevor. Only someone above the Half-Step Grandmaster level could make them feel that kind of fear.

"So what if you're a Half-Step Grandmaster? I'll get Zephyr to send me one too!" Logan, feeling guilty, turned and obediently walked towards the elevator.

The two bodyguards sighed in relief and quickly followed Logan, not daring to look back at Trevor.

Watching them leave in embarrassment, Trevor chuckled. He didn't expect just mentioning his Half-Step Grandmaster status would scare Logan off. Beverly was right; Logan was no match for Ethan!

Ethan had the guts to challenge Half-Step Grandmasters and even master-level experts when he was just a warrior. Logan was nothing compared to him!

"Logan's in New York, so Zephyr's probably with Dashiell right now!" In Ethan's office, Ethan and Jayden sat across from each other, and Ethan said with a grin.

"From the looks of it, Logan's useless. Zephyr's using him to provoke you, and he's got Brady's backing!" Jayden nodded in agreement.

"Those two have been scheming together for ages now!" Just then, Elmer popped up at the office door and said to Ethan.
