Chapter 259 The First Step of Rising

In the hotel, Zephyr and Logan were still waiting for Dashiell to return. Unexpectedly, it was Beverly who came back first instead of Dashiell.

The hotel they were staying at, even the room number, was naturally not hidden from Beverly, nor did they intend to.

"Weren't you at the Skyline Center? Their press conference doesn't seem to be over yet. How come you're back so soon?" Zephyr asked thoughtfully upon seeing Beverly.

"I just went to meet Ethan. After all, he was an rival. It's only right to greet before we settle things," Beverly explained calmly.

"You didn't go to tip off Ethan and say something you shouldn't have, did you?" Logan questioned.

"People say you're an idiot, and they're not wrong." Beverly glanced at him and laughed mockingly.

"Beverly! What do you mean by that?" Logan was instantly furious upon hearing this and pointed at Beverly, demanding an explanation.

"Enough. You indeed asked a nonsense question. Even if Beverly told Ethan that the Cloud Group has acquired IntelliMerge Group, what difference does it make? If Ethan knew, he might kill her. Who's the real fool here, you or her?" Zephyr reminded angrily.

Logan was left speechless, his face turning pale, unable to find a reason to refute.

"Where's Dashiell?" Beverly ignored Logan and asked Zephyr calmly.

"I just contacted him. He said he'd be back soon!" Zephyr replied and then closed his eyes to rest. Beverly also sat on the sofa, took out a book, and started reading leisurely.

Seeing that neither of them paid him any attention, Logan gave up on seeking trouble and went back to his room.

After waiting for about half an hour, Dashiell finally returned as it was getting close to evening.

"Beverly, long time no see!" Dashiell greeted Beverly with a kind smile, like an elder.

Beverly knew well that without the Cloud Group, she would be nothing in front of Dashiell.

"Dashiell, how are the preparations on the Ashford family's side?" Beverly asked calmly.

"We've arranged to meet at the entrance of Everglow City Hotel at seven o'clock sharp. In tonight's show, Beverly, you're the main character. Make sure you're ready to stand up for the Wilson Family and put Ethan in his place!" Dashiell reminded confidently.

"I know what to do. But I heard that the Ashford family has some conditions for cooperating with us this time?" Beverly smiled lightly and suddenly changed the topic.

"I was planning to discuss this with you tomorrow, but since you already know, I'll be straightforward. Dorian also wants to invest in the Cloud Group," Dashiell hesitated for a moment but explained truthfully.

"The Ashford family has such a large business. Why are they so fixated on the Cloud Group?" Beverly asked, raising her eyebrows.

"Firstly, the Cloud Group was once managed by Ethan. Secondly, the two families were originally intertwined. Given these conditions, I couldn't refute him. You know the entanglements between the Ashford family and Ethan." Dashiell smiled bitterly.

Beverly sneered inwardly, 'Dorian just wants to use this to counter Ethan, but it would ultimately be in vain. Interesting!'

Of course, she was equally eager to see the expressions on Dashiell and the others' faces once they learned the truth.

"Let's talk about it later. After all, the Cloud Group isn't mine!" Beverly said with smile.

However, Dashiell sensed something wrong, but unable to figure it out.

On the other side, the grand opening press conference of Stellar Nexus Enterprises was successfully held, with journalists and various media outlets attending in droves.

The impact and sensation brought by this press conference were evident. Besides the relatively unfamiliar Ethan in Everglow City, the representatives of the Harris family and the Miller family attending the press conference were all well-known figures in Everglow City.

This powerful alliance, combined with Stellar Nexus Enterprises' headquarters being in the Skyline Center—a building that originally belonged to the Zenith Group, created extraordinary influence.

Even though Alexander and the others only discussed the new group's matters at the press conference and did not mention anything about the Ashford family's Zenith Group, the media's curiosity was insatiable. Naturally, during the Q&A session, someone brought up the Zenith Group.

Alexander brushed off the question with "no comment," which only fueled more speculation and interest among the attendees.

Alexander could already imagine that after tonight, various media outlets—whether TV, newspapers, or the internet—would be filled with all sorts of guesses and theories!

After finally dealing with the journalists, Alexander was the first to leave the press conference, letting Jayden and the others continue, and went to the office to meet Ethan who had waited for a long time.

"Is the acquisition contract for Beverly ready?" Ethan asked calmly.

"It's been ready for a while. As long as she signs it, everything will be under our control. But Mr. Wilson, don't you think there might be unexpected changes during this process? Do you trust her that much? Aren't you afraid she'll turn against us suddenly?" Alexander reminded, still a bit worried.

"If you use a man, don't suspect him. From what I know of her, she's not someone who goes back on her word. Once she makes a decision, she won't change it. Besides, her whole family is in Everglow City now," Ethan replied confidently with a smile.

"True. Even if she doesn't care about herself, she has to consider her family!" Alexander nodded in agreement.

"Don't get me wrong. I never intended to use her family to threaten her. If she really chooses to go against me, I wouldn't use such a method to force her into submission," Ethan reminded seriously, knowing Alexander might misunderstand.

Alexander didn't doubt Ethan. In fact, he knew Ethan's character well. Throughout their interactions, Ethan had always trusted him deeply, which was a good indication that Ethan's words were genuine.

"When Beverly arrives, I'll find an opportunity to get the contract signed. It's too late to go find her now without being noticed." Alexander nodded slowly.

"Let's do that. The banquet starts at six, and it's already five-thirty. Make sure to hurry and keep some mainstream media representatives for the celebration dinner," Ethan instructed with satisfaction.

"Alright, I'll get on it right away!" Alexander responded and left in a hurry.

"The Wilson Family, the Ashford family—tonight, I'll deal with both them. The show is about to begin!" Ethan stood up, looking out at the towering buildings through the floor-to-ceiling window. This dazzling city lit up at night would witness the first step of his rise in Everglow City tonight!
