Chapter 218 Enraged
After breakfast, Ethan, Clarence, and Sarah set off together for the hospital.
Ever since Kenny was severely injured by Ethan, he had been hospitalized, with Dorian and Caspar staying by his side and taking care of him.
Although Dorian was in charge of the Ashford family, he especially doted on Kenny. From a young age, Dorian gave Kenny the best of everything, which made the other younger members of the Ashford family extremely jealous.
However, even if someone like Magnus felt dissatisfied with him, he could only suppress such emotions and dare not show them.
Dorian and Caspar stayed with Kenny in the hospital all night. With Dorian's help, Kenny finally regained a bit of his superpower, which allowed them to breathe a sigh of relief.
"Ethan almost killed Kenny! I can't bear this anger!" Caspar exclaimed, furiously, and looked at the expressionless Kenny and felt heartbroken.
She naturally understood how much of a blow this may have been to Kenny, who had always walked an easy path. The dignified heir of the Ashford family was lost to a discarded member of the Wilson Family and was almost killed. Anyone would find it hard to accept such a result!
"Fortunately, Kenny's superpower was only drained and can be restored. In a few days, he will be back to normal! What I'm more curious about now is how Ethan managed to do it?" Dorian stated then frowned, evidently shocked by Ethan's ability to drain someone else's superpower instantly.
"Ever since Ethan left the Wilson Family, he has suddenly displayed astonishing abilities. Maybe he learned some evil technique; otherwise, how else could he have progressed so quickly? The people from the Wilson Family said that he had never formally trained before!" Caspar snorted coldly.
"Yes, Brady would never have let him have the chance to train, officially. But where did he get these skills?" Dorian remarked and nodded in agreement, feeling even more puzzled.
"Mom, Dad, I want to kill him with my own hands!" Suddenly, Kenny said with a grim face, his voice low but filled with resentment and determination.
"You should recover first. Let me find out what skills he learned. He can absorb your superpower, so be careful!" Dorian reminded him and frowned.
"Kenny, don't worry. We will definitely avenge you!" Caspar promised through gritted teeth while quickly grabbing Kenny's hands.
At this moment, a subordinate came in and whispered something to Dorian, whose face instantly darkened.
"What is it?" Seeing Dorian's expression, Caspar knew something was wrong and couldn't help but ask.
"Nothing, you stay with Kenny. I'll be back soon!" Dorian sternly said as he shook his head and turned to leave the ward with the subordinate.
Outside the nurse's station in the inpatient department, Dorian saw Ethan and the other two already waiting there.
Seeing Ethan again, Dorian's expression naturally turned grim. Kenny and Ignatius both ended up in the hospital because of him yesterday, and even the Ashford family's marriage was ruined by him. It was evident that he was enraged.
But Dorian suppressed his anger and just stared blankly at Ethan for a moment before turning his gaze to Clarence.
"We are in a hospital," Dorian said sternly, "If the Harris family has something to discuss, you can send an invitation to my home! Coming here in person is not proper, is it?"
Dorian's words were very rude, clearly indicating that they were not welcome, no matter how senior Clarence was!
If Carlos had come in person, Dorian would have spoken more politely.
"Let's not beat around the bush. I'm not here for a chat! I'm here to demand an explanation from the Ashford family!" Clarence demanded. He didn't care about what Dorian said and then snorted.
"What explanation do you want?" Dorian narrowed his eyes. His tone was unfriendly as he retorted.
"Why play dumb? Isolde was severely injured by your apprentice last night and is still in the hospital, fighting for her life. Don't you think the Ashford family owes us an explanation?" Clarence sneered.
"Ridiculous! She may be severely injured, but Ethan also injured Kenny! Ignatius was also taken to the hospital last night because of him. And now you dare to show up in front of me? Who do you think should be demanding an explanation from whom? Do you really think the Ashford family is easy to bully?" Dorian rebutted as he glared at Ethan, showing signs of losing his temper.
Ethan, however, smiled and stared back at him without any fear. He even reminded him, "You are wrong. I injured Kenny and Ignatius, and it has nothing to do with the Harris family. Now, the Harris family is demanding an explanation from you, so why bring me into this?
"Besides, you came looking for trouble with me first. Am I not allowed to fight back? If you can't match my skills and make excuses, then the Ashford family isn't as impressive as I thought they were."
"Watch your mouth! You should be grateful this is Everglow City! Otherwise, you might not even know how you died! Since you claim this has nothing to do with the Harris family, why are you here? I don't want to see you. Get out now, or don't blame me for being rude!" Dorian's lips twitched, and his fists clenched as he angrily shouted at Ethan.
If Ethan continued to provoke him, Dorian would have a reason to kill him on the spot, but he was afraid of Phoenix.
Of course, if Ethan didn't know his place, he wouldn't hesitate to strike. Even if Phoenix showed up, he would have a valid reason, and killing Ethan would be the best outcome.
"No! We can't let him off so easily. Don't let him leave!" At this moment, Caspar commanded impatiently as she suddenly appeared in the hallway with a group of Ashford family guards, quickly surrounding Ethan and the other two.
"Why are you out here? Didn't I tell you to stay with Kenny?" Dorian asked. Knowing Caspar's temper well, he thought Caspar would do anything to avenge Kenny.
"I wondered why you sneaked out for so long. Turns out Ethan came to us! With such a good opportunity, why didn't you take action to avenge Kenny?" Caspar questioned Dorian with dissatisfaction.
"Don't be reckless. I have my limits!" Dorian remarked and sighed helplessly. If it weren't for the constraints of his master-level status, he would have killed Ethan already.
"What do you mean by this? Are you planning to keep me here as well?" Clarence asked coldly, his face darkening.
"I don't mean that. But you came to the hospital to cause trouble, which led to a misunderstanding. I suggest you go back for now; this isn't the place to talk. As for the matter of Isolde, we can discuss it later," Dorian said firmly, his tone leaving no room for argument.
"You are quite arrogant. So, you're going to let your apprentice run amok?" Clarence questioned unceremoniously.
"And what if we are? Does the Harris family want to go to war with the Ashford family? Think carefully about your position. If you want to fight, we are ready anytime!" Caspar, already furious, shouted before Dorian could respond.
