Chapter 263 The Show Began
Chloe did know what Munro and Cherry were thinking.
Seeing their uneasy expressions, Chloe said, "Dad, the Novaria branch doesn't just have Merrick. Sarah and I will also be there to help him. As for Everglow City, Ethan won't always be in Everglow City. The headquarters still needs you to work closely with Jayden and the others. Ethan plans to appoint you as the interim CEO of the group."
"What? Me, the CEO?" Munro was even more surprised, or rather, the sudden joy left him a bit stunned.
He hadn't expected that despite his previous attitude towards Ethan, he could still become the CEO of Stellar Nexus Enterprises!
Although Carlos and Percival were board members, they were quite old. Besides making some decisions, the day-to-day management of the group would definitely fall on them. Whoever could become the CEO would wield a lot of power. When Ethan was not in Everglow City, Munro would be the absolute authority in the entire group!
"Munro, I've been busy and didn't have time to discuss this with you. I was planning to talk to you after the banquet today!" Ethan explained with a smile.
"So you're giving me the CEO position, but what about the Harris family?" Munro felt a bit awkward, remembering his previous attitude towards Ethan. He had just been worried that Merrick might pose a threat to him, which made him feel quite ashamed.
"I've arranged for Jayden and Orion to be your deputies. The group will have one president and two executive vice presidents. The three of you will be the highest decision-making body of the group. Additionally, I will establish a special audit department responsible for performance evaluations, headed by Alexander. Are you satisfied with this arrangement?" Ethan continued to explain.
"Yes, of course, I'm satisfied. I didn't expect you to let me take this position." Munro shook his head and smile wryly.
"Dad, we're all family. There's no need to be so formal. Since Ethan is your future son-in-law, why be so polite with him?" Chloe clearly wanted to take this opportunity to make things clear and get her parents to support her relationship with Ethan.
Cherry suddenly coughed twice, interrupting Munro, "They're not married yet; it's a bit early to say that."
"You are right. I have yet to propose to the Miller family formally. Once things settle down, I'll arrange a time to visit!" Ethan nodded with a smile.
"We're all family, no rush!" Munro quickly waved his hand and laughed.
Cherry, for the sake of maintaining elegance, snorted lightly and said no more, but it was clear she had already accepted the outcome.
Ethan appointing Munro as the president of Stellar Nexus Enterprises was clearly a gesture of goodwill. Given the current cooperation between the two sides, continuing to be stubborn would be unwise, and she wasn't foolish.
"No wonder at the afternoon's press conference, besides announcing a few major shareholders, the formal appointments of the group's senior management were not made. You were waiting to please your future father-in-law, weren't you?" Merrick took the opportunity to tease.
"Let's go. After all, you're the president now. You should communicate with those military representatives." Cherry, feeling awkward, pulled Munro, who wanted to talk more with Ethan, and left directly.
"My mom is just stubborn; don't mind her!" Chloe said to Ethan with a helpless expression.
"I won't. No matter what, she's still your mom, and isn't the outcome quite good now?" Ethan shook his head with a comforting smile.
At this moment, the brief press conference had already ended. After Bennit and a few military personnel answered some questions from reporters, they left the banquet hall under the arrangement of the staff.
Of course, they didn't actually leave the hotel. Still, they went to a private room next door to meet with Munro and several other senior executives of Stellar Nexus Enterprises to confirm some details of their cooperation.
Munro regretted only that Ethan had arranged for the research institute to be in Novaria, and the military had already agreed to it. However, Novaria was just a branch, and he was the CEO of the group, so he should be content.
Meanwhile, in the underground parking lot of the Everglow City hotel, Dorian, Dashiell, and others were still sitting in their car, waiting for news.
They had arrived at the scene almost simultaneously with Bennit and his team. Upon hearing that military personnel were present at the banquet, they immediately changed their plans, choosing to wait and see, gathering information first.
"Who would have thought Ethan would bring out the military connection at this time, and the military actually chose to cooperate with him!" After hearing the latest report from their subordinates, Dorian and the others looked a bit grim.
"You used your connections to prevent the wealthy and influential people of Everglow City from attending their banquet, thinking you could humiliate Ethan. But he managed to turn it around again!" Dashiell also looked regretful.
"Ethan is quite something. The military wouldn't cooperate with an ordinary company just because of the Walker family or someone's connections. How did he manage it?" Even Dorian was curious at this point.
"Regardless, the military personnel have left. If no one else shows up, Ethan's banquet will be a joke. Just let the media spread the word, and it will be enough to disgrace them!" Dashiell, however, chuckled dismissively.
"Let's go. Since others won't show Ethan respect, we will!" Dorian took a deep breath and led the way out of the car.
"Just showing up is already respecting him enough!" Dashiell snorted disdainfully.
"Exactly. We're crashing the party; let's hope he'll enjoy the surprise we bring!" Dorian also let out a cold laugh and led the group directly towards the banquet hall.
Inside the banquet hall, Ethan received a message from Alexander, saying that Dorian and the others had arrived.
"The show is about to begin. Let's go greet them!" Ethan smiled at Chloe and the others and led the way to the door.
Before long, Dorian, Dashiell, and their entourage appeared at the entrance of the banquet hall. Behind them were Kenny, Zephyr, and others, including Beverly, dressed in a red outfit.
"Wow, Dorian, you take time out of your busy schedule to attend our Stellar Nexus Enterprises opening banquet? I'm truly honored!" Ethan stepped forward and said with a smile.
The crowd was in an uproar. No one had expected Dorian and his group to appear suddenly. The reporters, who had just been excited by the military's presence, were once again in a frenzy, swarming towards them.
"Ethan, just our presence here is giving you face. Why are you ignoring the Wilson Family?" Before Dashiell could say anything, Logan shouted.
Ethan only mentioned Dorian, ignoring the Wilson Family, which was a blatant insult to him.
