Chapter 580 Tyler's Stubbornness
After dropping Angela and the crew off by the reservoir, Ethan tossed the knocked-out Giuseppe into the back seat.
"You all head back first and hand Giuseppe over to Andrea. My job's done after that. Tell him he better keep his word, or he's got another thing coming," Ethan told Angela, dead serious.
"We're leaving, but what about you? You sticking around?" Angela was caught off guard and had to ask.
"I got some stuff to handle. I'll hit you up when I'm done. Just head home and wait for me." Ethan didn't mention anything about Tyler, just gave a stern reminder.
Angela didn't push it. If Ethan couldn't handle something, she sure as hell couldn't help and might just get in the way.
"Don't forget to call me when you're done," Angela agreed and drove off, heading back to the city.
Ethan glanced towards Lion Ridge and then vanished from sight.
Back at Lion Ridge, Ethan slipped through the defensive Magic Circle like a pro and entered the Monastery. He saw Tyler guarding the entrance, with three frozen ML Guild members and a freaked-out Brian.
"Mr. Wilson, you're back," Tyler greeted Ethan with respect.
Ethan gave a slight nod and walked straight to Brian.
"Please, let me go. I know I messed up. He’s definitely coming today. He made me do everything. If you want trouble, go find him," Brian started begging, tears streaming down his face.
Clearly, after dealing with Tyler for a bit, his mind was already toast.
"You're right. The Great Elder you mentioned did show up, and I just took him out," Ethan nodded with a grin.
"You said he's dead?" Brian was stunned, his face going ghostly white.
"Where do you think I just went? Taking down that Seth was no walk in the park," Ethan nodded seriously.
If Brian had any doubts before, they were gone now. He hadn't spilled the Great Elder's name before. If Ethan hadn't run into Seth, he wouldn't know it.
Tyler, standing off to the side, was even more floored by Ethan's words. When Ethan left earlier, Tyler had a hunch about what he was up to. He didn't expect Ethan to actually go after the Great Elder.
That was a legit master-level dude. Even though Ethan was something else, it still made Tyler worry. He thought if Ethan didn't come back and the Great Elder did, he'd fight to the death. But he never expected Ethan to come back and say he killed Seth. Even if his master were still alive, he might not be able to take down Seth, let alone kill him.
"Where's your ML Guild at?" Ethan suddenly switched gears and asked.
"Why do you wanna know that?" Brian's eyes went wide with fear.
"Seth got me curious about the ML Guild. Figured I might drop by sometime. You scared? Don’t tell me I’m not welcome," Ethan patted Brian's shoulder, grinning.
"Of course, you're welcome!" Brian was practically in tears at Ethan's seemingly harmless smile.
"Then spill it. Where can I find the ML Guild?" Ethan nodded, satisfied, and asked again.
"I can't say. If I do, they'll kill me," Brian explained, tears streaming down his face.
"Alright, if you don't wanna talk, I won't push. But that means you're useless to me. There are still three others. Wonder if they're as tough as you," Ethan shrugged, still smiling.
"I'll tell you. I'll tell you everything," Brian shivered and quickly caved.
A few minutes later, Ethan strolled out of the Monastery with a blood-soaked Tyler. The blood wasn't Tyler's, but Brian's and the other three's.
After Brian spilled the location of the ML Guild, Ethan gave Tyler a nod and left. What happened next was Tyler getting his revenge. He dealt with Brian his own way, settling the score for the JE Guild and his fallen comrades.
When they got back to the reservoir, Ethan asked Tyler, "Thought about what you're gonna do next?"
Tyler replied, "Mr. Wilson, like I said before, if you don't mind, I'd like to stick around and work for you. I can never repay your kindness. All I got left to offer is myself. Please, give me this chance."
"You don't have to do this. Whether it was the first time I met you or now, you don't owe me anything. It's all just a coincidence. You were meant to survive."
"Doesn't matter what you think, you'll always be my savior," Tyler insisted stubbornly.
"Fine, you can stay by my side, but can we do it differently?" Ethan sighed and asked suddenly.
"Whatever you say." Tyler nodded without hesitation. To him, staying with Ethan, even just as a guard, was a huge opportunity. Though he was honest and straightforward, he wasn't dumb. Being with Ethan wasn't a burden but a chance to truly rise.
"Good. Have you thought about bringing back the JE Guild?" Ethan asked, satisfied.
Tyler's face turned sorrowful at Ethan's words.
