Chapter 60 The Troubles of the Harris Family
"Then I'll leave as well!” Chloe saw the situation, quickly bidding farewell before chasing after Ethan.
“Grandpa, why did you...” Sarah couldn't understand why Clarence did this. Even though Ethan was no longer part of the Wilsons, he had just saved Clarence's life. Was Clarence afraid of offending the Wilson family?
“Sarah, there are some things you don't understand. Do you think I don't know how to repay a debt?” Clarence sighed, looking helplessly at his beloved granddaughter.
“Grandpa, that's not what I meant. I also understand Ethan's sensitive identity and how difficult it has been for you!” Sarah quickly explained.
“It's not Ethan that’s the problem; he was right. However, the Harris family has its own troubles we need to deal with!” Clarence sighed, his face filled with emotion.
Sarah was confused once again.
When Ethan left the Harris family villa, Chloe caught up with him from behind and grabbed his arm.
Chloe asked in confusion, “Ethan, why didn't you try harder? After all, you saved Old Master Harris today. This is the best chance you have!”
Ethan reminded bitterly, “Haven't you realized? Old Master Harris has important matters to attend to, so he won’t be seeing me again until he resolves those matters.”
“What have you realized? I feel like there was more to your conversation with Clarence,” Chloe frowned in confusion and asked.
“Grandpa wouldn't be poisoned for no reason, and it even happened in his own backyard. It’s obvious that the Harris family has internal issues. If even his own family can't be at peace, it’d be impossible for him to help me!” Ethan sighed, pulling Chloe along while explaining.
“So, you’re saying Clarence was poisoned by someone within his family...” Chloe immediately thought of what Clarence telling Alan that he’d deal with something he did! What could it be?
Even though she only spoke halfway, Ethan could tell Chloe already understood the situation based on her expression.
Ethan sighed helplessly, “What I mean is, the Harris family will surely show gratitude once they resolve their own troubles!”
When it came to Brady's attitude toward Ethan, he was merciless; even to the point of being cruel!
On the other hand, Clarence immediately guessed the most likely culprit to cause trouble within his family.
He had been poisoned, but he didn’t even explode on the spot. That clearly showed his soft-heartedness!
Chloe was initially afraid Ethan had been too rude and his relationship with the Harris family would completely sever, but turns out this was what he really meant!
“Let's go. the Harris family is not safe either. We can't rely completely on others; in the end, it's up to us!”
Ethan squeezed Chloe's hand and showed a confident smile.
“Well, I believe you can do it.” Chloe took a deep breath, also smiling.
Ethan's performance today was amazing, which made her see a more magical side of this man. Naturally, her confidence in him increased!
As the two walked out of the villa area, they saw a black Mercedes parked on the roadside from afar.
Greg stood expressionless next to the car, which made Chloe immediately panic and pull her hand away from Ethan’s.
“Ethan, I have to go back now. Stay safe!” she said, her eyes filled with reluctance.
“Okay, contact me if there's anything!” he noticed something about her attitude toward Greg, but he only nodded discreetly.
It wasn't until Chloe got into the Mercedes and the car drove off that Ethan withdrew his gaze.
The sky was gradually darkening. Ethan hailed a taxi and hurried back to the villa.
In the hospital room, Mike had come at Tim's request. Tim was afraid that Mike would act without him, so he didn't allow him to leave his sight, which annoyed Mike.
“By the way, was the girl with Ethan before from the Miller family?” Tim remembered Chloe, who was with Ethan at the cafe that day. A gleam of light flashed in his eyes.
Mike explained expressionlessly, “Based on the information we’ve collected so far, it seems so. The old man is Greg, one of the Millers’ eight vassals!”
“What a pity!”
Tim was frustrated. He originally planned to torture Ethan and then rape that woman, but Chloe's identity made him hesitate.
Mike reminded him calmly, “I know what you're thinking. Elder Brady ordered us not to provoke anyone from the Millers, so you can give up that idea!”
Tim yelled in anger, “Do I need you to teach me? Know your place!”
Mike had a gloomy expression, but he only endured and remained silent.
At that moment, one of his subordinates suddenly entered the room and reported, “Boss, we’ve found Ethan's address. It turns out he’s indeed with that woman named Hannah, and they’re neighbors!”
Just then, two terrifying rays of anger shot out from Mike’s eyes, venting all the anger Tim brought him onto Ethan!
“Notify everyone to keep an eye on him. I'll be there shortly!”
“Me too, take me with you! I want to see every single one of Ethan’s bones getting shattered!” Tim immediately shouted, afraid that Mike would leave him behind.
Mike looked at Tim grimly before instructing his subordinates, “Have two people accompany the young master!”
“Hahaha! Ethan, today I’ll make you taste the agony of a fate worse than death and then send you to hell!” Tim's face was wrapped in bandages, so it showed no expression. On the other hand, his bloodshot eyes turned red and hideous when it was exposed outside.
As Ethan just returned to the villa, his doorbell suddenly rang.
As expected, the visitor was none other than Hannah.
“Alex, I saw that you arrived home just now, so I brought the share transfer contract for you. It’ll take effect as soon as you sign it!”
After seeing him, Hannah directly handed the contract over.
As he signed his name on the contract, Ethan said, “Do we really need to rush this? Also, my name isn’t Alex; it's Ethan.”
“Ethan?!” Hannah froze upon hearing this, a rumor about a certain person flashing through her mind. “You’re Ethan, Cloud Group’s chairman?”
“Not anymore. Go back for now and contact me if there's anything you need.”
Ethan returned the contract to Hannah, not even letting her enter the villa.
He revealed his true identity to her because he didn’t need to hide it anymore.
