Chapter 636 Personally Avenging the Enemy

"Ethan, should I go for it or not?" Shane asked, looking all torn up.

"Absolutely, go for it! Kirk's trying to protect Dirk, but I want him gone. Let's see what that sneaky old man can do to me," Ethan shot back, not even hesitating, totally dismissing Kirk.

"Hold up!" Kirk, who had been quiet, suddenly yelled out, clearly pissed.

But Shane had his orders from Ethan, so there was no stopping now. With Ethan not scared of Kirk, Shane felt way more confident.

Ignoring Kirk's outburst, Shane delivered a final blow to Dirk's head. It was so brutal that a lot of people turned away, especially Patricia and Deborah, who were thinking, 'Why the head? Couldn't he hit somewhere else?'

Dirk's head split open, and he died instantly, not even a scream.

The whole place got super tense, with only Shane's heavy breathing breaking the silence.

"Ethan!" Kirk's voice, full of rage, broke the silence after what felt like forever.

"What do you want? Upset about losing a lackey you've been grooming? Looking for an explanation from me?" Ethan asked with a cold smirk.

"This isn't over. You'll pay for crossing me!" Kirk snapped, and then the black communication stone spun and shattered, his shadow vanishing into thin air.

"Anyone can make threats. Bring it on, I'm waiting!" Ethan scoffed at the spot where Kirk's shadow had been.

Things calmed down, and everyone stared at Ethan, baffled by his guts to stand up to Kirk.

"Alright, show's over. You all waiting for me to roll out the red carpet?" Ethan said, looking at the hidden sect members.

Everyone shivered and quickly looked away, not daring to meet Ethan's eyes. They knew better than to mess with someone who could stand up to Kirk.

In no time, a bunch of people, realizing staying would only mean trouble, rushed down the mountain.

Soon, only a group of confused ML Guild disciples and a few experts from the hidden sects were left.

"Anything else?" Ethan raised an eyebrow at the few who stayed behind.

The ones who stayed were Lawrence and his crew, who had invited Ethan earlier.

"Mr. Wilson, we mean no harm. We just didn't expect you to be so impressive. We'd like to be friends," Lawrence said quickly, smiling.

"Mr. Wilson, sorry if I said anything offensive before. Please don't hold it against me," Terry added, trying to muster some courage.

Ethan couldn't help but laugh. One wanted to be friends, the other was apologizing, and the rest probably wanted to get on his good side too.

"Sorry, I've got other stuff to handle right now, so I can't chat," Ethan said, waving them off, clearly not interested in making new friends.

Lawrence and the others looked bummed out but didn't push it. Seeing Ethan's impatience, they quickly made their exit.

Now, it was just Ethan, his crew, and a few confused ML Guild disciples left.

"Kenneth, take care of those master-level experts on the nearby mountains," Ethan instructed.

"Got it!" Kenneth replied, and in a flash, he was gone.

"Ethan, what about these guys?" Shane asked, glaring at the ML Guild disciples.

"Are you calm now? If so, let them go. From today on, the ML Guild is history," Ethan said calmly.

Shane slowly unclenched his fists. He had felt the urge to wipe out all the ML Guild members, but Ethan's words made him realize he couldn't do that.

Maybe that was the difference between him and Dirk. Dirk could be ruthless, but he couldn't and shouldn't be. Otherwise, he'd not only be seen as a demon but also drag Ethan down with him.

"Get lost!" Shane barked at the ML Guild disciples.

They didn't need to be told twice. They bolted down the mountain like their lives depended on it.

"Some things we don't need to handle ourselves; others will take care of them. Without Dirk, the ML Guild is done for," Ethan said, patting Shane's arm.

After tonight's battle, the ML Guild had thoroughly pissed off the hidden sects. Without top masters to protect them, their fate was sealed. The hidden sects might fear Kirk, but they wouldn't show mercy to the ML Guild disciples. Kirk might come after Ethan for Dirk, but he wouldn't go to bat for these disciples.

It was hard to say how many of those who were let go today would survive.

Shane got the message and nodded.

"Mr. Wilson, you really are something!" Patricia said, approaching with Deborah, smiling and complimenting Ethan.

"Keep today's events to yourselves," Ethan replied with a light smile.

Patricia got the hint. Ethan's identity as the leader of the ZF Guild needed to stay under wraps.

"What a cute wolf, Mr. Wilson. You even have a pet wolf?" Deborah's attention was on Orla, who had just stood up.

Orla seemed to know the boring game was finally over and woke up from her nap. In the dark, her snow-white fur seemed to glow, making her stand out.

Orla wasn't too thrilled with Deborah's enthusiasm. Seeing her approach, Orla jumped a few feet away, watching Deborah warily and baring her fangs with a low growl.

"Ethan, when did you get a wolf?" Shane asked, scratching his head, looking puzzled.
