Chapter 602 An Offer One Couldn't Refuse
Kenneth's sudden appearance, along with the intense vibe he was giving off, left Patricia speechless and made Bonnie, who was nearby, feel like she couldn't breathe.
"Can you tone it down a bit? You're freaking everyone out. Seriously, chill or I'll send you packing," Ethan grumbled, clearly annoyed.
Hearing Ethan talk to a grandmaster like that, Patricia's face twisted in disbelief, while Bonnie was just plain shocked. "Sorry, Mr. Wilson. I got a bit carried away," Kenneth's excited look vanished, and he quickly apologized with a sheepish grin.
"This is my attendant, Kenneth. Don't worry about him; just pretend he's not even here," Ethan said, introducing Kenneth to Patricia and Bonnie.
Even Patricia, usually so composed, couldn't help but twitch her mouth, thinking, 'A Grandmaster right here, and you want me to ignore him? That's nuts.'
Then, a scary thought hit Patricia. If Ethan had called Kenneth out a few days ago, forget about Seth, none of the eight people present would've made it out.
Patricia finally got it—when Ethan said he could take down the ML Guild solo, he wasn't bluffing. With a grandmaster as his sidekick, wiping out the ML Guild seemed totally doable.
"Mr. Wilson, I gotta say, I'm really impressed today. I had no idea your background was this deep," Patricia said, genuinely amazed.
Francis and Patricia were already two solid grandmaster-level fighters. Who knew what other tricks Ethan had up his sleeve?
"You're too kind. Let's get moving so we don't waste any more time," Ethan chuckled and nudged Patricia.
Patricia pulled herself together and opened a spatial passage, leading Ethan and the others through it.
Just like Patricia mentioned, getting into the Ladies Guild meant navigating a maze. Once inside the spatial passage, Ethan felt like he was back in the days when he stumbled upon the two Magic Circles while exploring the SA Guild's secret realm, stepping into a gray, misty world.
Following Patricia, it only took a few moments before the view suddenly opened up. A lush, flower-filled valley spread out before Ethan.
"This is the real Flowers Valley, where the Ladies Guild's entrance is." Patricia's voice echoed.
"The scenery here is pretty sweet," Ethan said, genuinely impressed by the beautiful view.
"Mr. Wilson, you're too kind. It's late now, so this isn't even the valley's best look. Check it out tomorrow morning; it'll be a whole different scene," Patricia said with a slight smile.
"I'll make sure to do that. But for now, let's get inside; we've got important stuff to handle," Ethan nodded and reminded Patricia.
"Follow me," Patricia said, leading Ethan and the others into an open area within the valley.
Ahead, the open space was filled with wooden structures. Along the way, they ran into many female disciples of the Ladies Guild. Seeing Patricia, they all greeted her respectfully while sneaking curious glances at Ethan and Kenneth.
"Mr. Wilson, why go through all this hassle to take down the ML Guild? Why not just charge in? Once we find them, breaking their Magic Circle should be a piece of cake for you, and I can handle the rest," Kenneth blurted out, eager to prove his loyalty by smashing the ML Guild.
Patricia, walking ahead, felt her heart skip a beat. So Ethan wasn't joking earlier; he truly was prepared to storm the ML Guild. Luckily, she was in front, so Ethan and Kenneth couldn't see her slightly tense expression.
"You can chill in this building for a bit. Except for Linda, who's still in seclusion, the other seven leaders should be around. I'll have someone fetch them," Patricia said, leading Ethan and Kenneth to a delicate pavilion and giving Bonnie a look. Bonnie got the hint and immediately left to summon the leaders.
"Linda's in seclusion?" Ethan asked, curious, after sitting down.
"Yeah, Linda's at a critical breakthrough stage and can't come out. I can only call the other leaders since I don't make all the decisions for the Ladies Guild." Patricia nodded, looking a bit helpless.
"What stage is Linda breaking through to?" Ethan asked, intrigued.
"Grandmaster level early stage. I can sense her aura. She's at the peak of master level, just a step away from grandmaster level. However, her spiritual power is somewhat lacking, preventing her from advancing just yet," Kenneth answered calmly before Patricia could speak.
"So, the reason you wanted the Sacred Wood was to help her break through?" Ethan quickly pieced it together.
The Sacred Wood's main benefit was nourishing the soul, continuously strengthening one's Sea of Consciousness, making it valuable only to those at master level and above who had a Sea of Consciousness.
For a master level to reach grandmaster level, the key step was enhancing the Sea of Consciousness and condensing the Sea of Qi into a Golden Core, which was necessary for a grandmaster level to enter the Golden Core Stage.
In essence, the grandmaster level was a transitional stage between master level and Golden Core Stage, surpassing master level but still not as strong as Golden Core Stage. So, the Sacred Wood was incredibly appealing to any master level on the brink of breaking through to grandmaster level.
"Since you already know, there's no point in hiding it. If you hadn't said you were willing to lend me the Sacred Wood, I wouldn't have brought you in." Patricia shook her head and smiled bitterly.
The Sacred Wood was crucial for Linda. With it, she could quickly advance to grandmaster level, thereby strengthening the Ladies Guild and ensuring they would no longer be suppressed by the ML Guild.
