Chapter 581 Ethan Took on a Disciple
The JE Guild was down to just Tyler. Even with his crazy skills, bringing a dead guild back to life was no walk in the park.
Back when he had a few buddies left, Tyler thought about it. Starting from scratch didn't seem so bad with some friends by his side. As long as they stuck together, the JE Guild would still be a thing. But that all went up in flames thanks to that traitor and Brian.
"Mr. Wilson, the JE Guild is done for. If I could, I'd change my name and start fresh." Tyler shook his head and let out a bitter laugh.
"I'm glad you're thinking that way. You can't live in the past forever; you gotta look ahead. Ever thought about taking down the ML Guild and getting some payback for the JE Guild?" Ethan nodded approvingly and then dropped a bombshell.
"Take down the ML Guild?" Tyler's eyes went wide, totally floored by Ethan's suggestion.
"Did you really think I asked for the ML Guild's location just to say hi?" Ethan stared at Tyler, reminding him.
"But the ML Guild's leader is a legit master-level expert. Taking them down is easier said than done." Tyler, still in shock, kept his cool and didn't jump on board just because of Ethan's words.
"I've handled grandmaster-level folks before. A master-level expert shouldn't be too tough, right?" Ethan chuckled, not giving a straight answer.
He didn't necessarily have to kill the ML Guild's leader, but the guild had to go. Making the leader end up like Tyler would be enough to vent his anger and give Tyler some closure for the JE Guild.
Tyler was stunned by Ethan's casual remark, his mouth twitching, unable to respond for a while. Even when he did, he didn't know what to say because he still couldn't believe Ethan, at an early master level, could take down a master-level expert.
"I want to take you as my disciple. Would you be up for that?" Ethan suddenly asked out of nowhere.
"What?" Still lost in his thoughts, Tyler wondered if he heard right and instinctively asked back.
"I asked if you'd be willing to become my first official disciple," Ethan repeated.
This time, Tyler listened carefully and got it, changing the way he addressed Ethan. "I'm in! Ethan, thank you!"
"Great. From today on, you're my first disciple. I have just one requirement for you." Ethan nodded, looking pleased, and held up one finger.
"Just say it! I'll definitely follow it!" Tyler quickly nodded.
Ethan got serious. "Skills are cool and all, but I care more about character. Basically, just be a good person. I see you're honest and sincere, which is why I decided to take you on. Keep it that way. If I ever see you drifting from your true self and our master-disciple bond starts to fall apart, that'll be the end of it."
"I'll remember that." Tyler nodded quickly.
Ethan nodded, satisfied. He'd been thinking about taking on a disciple for a while, even talked it over with Francis, but couldn't settle on the right criteria. Meeting Tyler again made it clear.
"Thanks," Tyler finally said, showing his gratitude.
"Didn't you say you wanted to change your name? I think that's a good idea." Ethan suddenly switched gears.
"Are you gonna give me a new name?" Tyler's heart skipped a beat, looking hopeful.
"Let's keep your last name. From now on, you're not Tyler Clark anymore. You're Shane Clark." Ethan decided after a moment.
"Thank you. From now on, I'm Shane Clark." Shane nodded gratefully.
"Alright, since you're my disciple now, come meet my senior brother," Ethan changed the topic again.
"Ethan, you have a guild too?" Shane still didn't know about the ZF Guild and thought Ethan was just part of the Wilson family.
"Of course." Ethan smiled and then summoned the Sun and Moon Beads, opening a portal to the Tiger Mount secret realm right there in mid-air.
"This is a secret realm portal!" Shane's eyes widened, realizing just how powerful his new master was, who even had his own secret realm.
"Pretty cool, huh?" Ethan smiled and led Shane through the portal, disappearing by the reservoir in an instant.
"Ethan, which secret realm is this?" Once they arrived at Tiger Mount, Shane was blown away by the scenery and couldn't help but ask.
"The Tiger Mount secret realm. Heard of it?" Ethan asked casually.
"Tiger Mount secret realm... Ethan, are we part of the ZF Guild?" Shane's eyes went wide in shock. Tiger Mount was legendary, and the ZF Guild was a big deal. Even if Shane wasn't super informed, he'd heard of it.
"Yep. I'm the current leader of the ZF Guild. But we don't have many members right now, so don't get your hopes up." Ethan nodded with a smile.
Shane was over the moon. "Oh my god, I actually joined the ZF Guild and apprenticed to the leader. No wonder you're so powerful, even master-level experts can't touch you."
