Chapter 217 The Unity Ethan Wanted
But for Caspar, the inner conflict was something Dorian could never understand!
She remembered that Gino had always played with her and protected her since they were kids. She had hoped that one day he would come back and take care of her just like when they were young!
Confirming that Gino was really alive made her happy, but what she couldn't accept was that he stopped Ignatius from killing Ethan to avenge Kenny!
She pondered, 'Why did he do that? What is his relationship with Ethan? He is Kenny's uncle!'
Meanwhile, Gino, in Midnight Oasis, also locked himself in his office, looking at an old black-and-white photo in his hand, his face showing no expression.
The photo was a family portrait, with a little boy hugging a little girl, both smiling happily!
"Thirty years, I never thought our reunion would be under such circumstances! Magister told me to come to Everglow City. Was it all to wait for this day?" Gino muttered to himself, clearly not as calm as he appeared.
He had been hiding his identity all along, and if it weren't for Ethan being in danger today, he wouldn't have felt compelled to reveal himself! He knew that after tonight, he would have to confront her, a prospect that filled him with trepidation!
But as he reflected on the situation, he finally realized that everything he had to face now was the opportunity that Magister had mentioned! However, this opportunity felt particularly heavy for him, and did not bring the joy he had imagined!
"The Salvador family, I will eventually reclaim everything I lost!" Gino declared with determination as he stuffed the old photo back into his drawer. He seemed to have made up his mind and slowly clenched his fist.
Early the next morning, when Ethan and Sarah had just walked out of their room, they found themselves under the curious gaze of a row of onlookers in the yard.
Sarah's face immediately turned red!
Coming out of the same room with Ethan early in the morning. It was obvious!
"It's all your fault. I said we should sleep separately, but you insisted. Are you satisfied now?" she said, embarrassed. Sarah couldn't help but pinch Ethan's waist with force.
Ethan grimaced, both in pain and amusement.
Even though Ethan was normally thick-skinned, facing so many curious eyes was enough to make him feel awkward.
"Looks like staying in a hotel would be more hassle-free!" Ethan remarked and coughed lightly and saw the Harris family members gathering around him.
Sarah wanted to say something but had to give up seeing the situation.
"I'll go see Grandpa. You come over later!" With that said, Sarah quickly fled.
Ethan shook his head with a wry smile and turned his gaze to the Harris family apprentices. Seeing their hesitant looks, he asked, "If you have something to say, just say it. There is no need to be shy; I'm not a monster!"
Hearing this, a leading young man said to Ethan awkwardly, "Um, Ethan, we were arrogant before. Don't take it to heart!"
Ethan remembered that Sarah had introduced him to this guy. His name was Lucien, the son of the second in line to inherit the Harris family, and was among the third generation with inheritance rights; besides Isolde, Carlos liked him best!
He was also a supporter of Isolde and was very clever. He knew that by following Isolde and making her happy, he could naturally gain Carlos's favor!
So, the third generation of the Harris family with inheritance rights did not have the same rivalry as Clarence's side. They were quite united.
However, those with inheritance rights had high standards, which was why they looked down on Sarah.
"I'm not that petty. We're all family, so why are you being so formal? Did you come to me just to say this?" Ethan teased and chuckled upon hearing this, finding Lucien and others rather interesting.
"We heard that Isolde's condition isn't good. You're a doctor. With your skills, can't you save her?" Lucien inquired as he took a deep breath. He finally revealed his true purpose.
Ethan was taken aback for a moment, then slowly nodded. Just with Lucien's words, Ethan now had a higher opinion of him. In large families, it was common to see people vying for favor and power behind the scenes, with some even hoping their rivals would meet an untimely end the next day!
Ethan could tell that Lucien was sincere, which made him appreciate the unity and harmony among the third-generation heirs of the Harris family even more.
He thought, 'If the Wilson Family could be like this, would I have needed to leave home and start my own family?'
Ethan patted Lucien's shoulder and said with a smile, "Don't worry. She'll be fine. There's no need to panic!"
"Are you serious?" Lucien replied and breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this.
"Carlos dotes on Isolde. If something really happened to her, he wouldn't have let me off the hook. Do you think I would be able to sleep so soundly?" Ethan reminded him with a smile.
"You're right! As long as she's okay! Mr. Wilson, thank you for standing up for her last night and helping us vent our anger! I heard you got injured, too?" Lucien expressed, appreciatively. Being a quick-witted guy, he immediately shifted the topic to show his concern for Ethan.
"Don't forget I'm a doctor. Even if I'm injured, I can heal myself! You all go about your business, and don't worry about Isolde or the crowd around me!" Ethan reassured him and smiled, knowing that the Harris family members had truly accepted him this time.
Lucien, understanding the cue, promptly led the others away.
"The future Wilson Family must be like this, too!" Watching Lucien and the others leave, Ethan murmured to himself, his tone filled with determination.
When Ethan arrived at the dining room to have breakfast with Carlos and Clarence, Orion and Sarah were already there, and the four of them had started eating.
"Did you sleep well last night?" Carlos asked Ethan with a smile.
"It wasn't bad, but it wasn't as comfortable as sleeping in a hotel. I always felt like someone was watching me!" Ethan scratched his head and said frankly.
Carlos couldn't help but laugh. Naturally, there were guards in the Harris family secretly protecting them. Given Ethan's current abilities, it wasn't surprising that he could sense their presence.
Since Ethan wasn't truly a member of the Harris family, he might not be used to such situations. It was normal for him to feel discomfort. But saying it so bluntly in front of him made Carlos feel a bit awkward.
"What are you talking about?" Sarah questioned, sitting beside him, glaring at Ethan disapprovingly.
"What do you think I'm talking about?" Ethan replied innocently and was puzzled.
Sarah's face immediately turned red, clearly having misunderstood again.
"After breakfast, I'm going to find Dorian to get an explanation for last night's events. Ethan, do you want to come with me?" Clarence suddenly coughed and then asked.
"How could I miss such an exciting event? I wouldn't feel at ease letting you go alone!" Ethan remarked as he laughed. He had already planned to go anyway, so he naturally wouldn't refuse!
"And me. I don't think you can leave me out of this!" Sarah immediately raised her hand and glared at the two of them, insisting on joining.
