Chapter 154 An Old Friend
"Magister, is what Ethan said true?" Mr. Jerome managed to restrain the urge to spout blood and asked Francis.
"You dare to call your senior by his given name? From now on, call him senior!" Francis scolded, frowning.
Mr. Jerome immediately felt uneasy. It wasn't just him. A few other senior had the same feeling. Out of the four people, two were at least a whole generation older than Ethan. Now they had to turn around and call him senior, how could they feel embarrassed?
But Magister had spoken, and they didn't have the courage to defy him. They could only reluctantly call Ethan senior.
"Call me senior, and it will be beneficial for you in the future! Don't act like I'm taking much advantage of you!" Ethan didn't bother with the Taoist priests like Mr. Jerome. If they didn't listen, he would just fight them. He didn't believe these guys would dare to disrespect their teacher and ancestors!
"Congratulations, Francis!" Bennit finally reacted and said politely to Francis.
Others might not be aware of Francis's background, but Bennit knew a little more, which made him think in a certain direction involuntarily!
"Bennit, my junior brother is not bad, right?" asked Francis, stareing at Bennit with a half-smile.
"I trusts his judgment in reading people." Bennit nodded in a bitter smile.
Listening to the conversation between the two, Ethan couldn't help but think there was something unique between Francis and the Walker family.
It seemed that the collaboration between himself and the Walker family was almost a done deal!
"Come in, all of you!"
A voice from Remington suddenly came from inside the room at that moment.
Bennit was the first to push open the door and walked in with Ethan and others.
"Ethan, I owe you my life this time. Thank you in advance! Unfortunately, both of my granddaughters are already engaged, so I can't be like Mr. Chu and find you a wife!"
Remington saw Ethan again and jokingly said so in a seemingly good mood.
"Remington, Ethan is my boyfriend. Stop trying to steal him away!" Sarah immediately protested, tightly clinging to Ethan's arm as if afraid someone would take her loved one away.
In reality, Sarah's face was filled with a proud expression. Ethan was her man, and he was so capable. That also proved her good taste!
On the other hand, Bennit approached Remington and whispered something in his ear.
Immediately after, Remington's gaze toward Ethan and Francis became surprised.
"Francis, you have accepted a discipls and becoming Ethan's senior? Congratulations!" Remington stood up directly from his chair and bowed to Francis.
Clarence also showed a hint of surprise in his eyes upon hearing that, but then his smile on grew even more.
"Remington, it seems like our two families will have to interact more in the future!"
Upon hearing that, Remington and Bennit raised their eyebrows, but they didn't say much after exchanging a glance.
"It's getting late. Remington just recovered today, so it's better for him to stay at St. Benedict's Priory for a night of rest. As for the remaining shrapnel in Remington's body, inform me directly when Bennit arranges the time and place!"
Ethan turned to Remington and Bennit and asked, "Why are you planning to leave now, Bennit? Is there something else you need?"
Bennit furrowed, asking, "Is there anything else, Ethan?"
"I wanted to talk to you about something, " Remington interjected suddenly.
"In that case, I'm off," Bennit said, voluntarily exiting the room.
With Bennit gone, the others naturally followed. Soon, only Ethan and Remington were in the room.
"Remington, what did you want to tell me privately?" Ethan asked curiously.
"Kid, I didn't expect you to be associated with the Wilson family. You should know the Walker family has been maintaining a distance from the Four Great Families for years," Remington said straightforwardly.
"What do you mean, Remington? I no longer have any connection with the Wilson family. I believe the Wilson family shouldn't interfere with our relationship," Ethan frowned, wondering if Remington was going to burn bridges after crossing the river.
"That's not what I mean. I want to remind you that many matters concerning the Walker family and the Four Great Families are not something I or anyone else can decide on. The military also has its regulations, and the Walker family will never take sides. This is the bottom line, and I hope you understand. As soldiers, we must be responsible to the country," Remington earnestly reminded him.
"You are right, and that is something I admire about the Walker family. You have managed to elevate the Walker family to its current position precisely because of this," Ethan's countenance became much softer as he nodded in agreement.
"In our interactions, Bennit and I can only represent ourselves as private individuals and not the Walker family or any department. I hope you understand this," Remington smiled and nodded, satisfied with Ethan's response.
"How much time do you need?" Remington asked with a serious tone. Ethan had mixed feelings about the sudden request to go to Houston. He had always planned to go there after dealing with Baytown, but didn't expect it to happen so soon.
"Just give me a little time before I head to Houston. If your friend's condition isn't critical, I would appreciate some more time," Ethan replied, trying to buy himself some time.
Remington nodded and said, "Alright, I'll give you some more time. But remember, this is a rare opportunity for you. Going to Houston could bring you great benefits."
Ethan thanked Remington for the chance and suggested that Remington go ahead to Houston first if he wanted to. "If your friend's condition becomes urgent, I will go immediately," Ethan added.
Remington furrowed and asked, "At least two weeks, possibly a month. I'll go to Houston within a month!"
Ethan estimated the fastest progress in Baytown and gave Remington a deadline.
"Ok.ay I'll give you a month. We'll meet in Houston after a month. As for the remaining bullet fragments in my body, I won't remove them temporarily. Once you come to Houston after a month, we'll remove them altogether. I'll return to Houston tomorrow!"
Remington agreed without hesitation and had made arrangements for the next itinerary.
"Alright. See you in Houston after a month!"
