Chapter 12 Sharon Pays a Visit
Everyone was astonished to hear this.
"Who are you referring to? Ethan? Being looked after by the Miss from Cloud Group?"
Gabriella's eyes widened, hardly believing that Ethan had made that much money in a single day!
After a while, the rest of the Thomas family realized that Ethan, the person they had been making fun of all along, had risen above them!
But then, something snapped in their minds, and they were all staring at Sharon accusingly.
"Sharon, why were you so hasty in divorcing him?"
"It's honestly because you and your mother were too harsh with him. It makes sense why, after finding support, he began to attack you. You are to blame for the impact we're getting now!”
"You're so worthless, Sharon! You couldn't even control a worthless man, and even let him cheat on you. Even after divorcing, he found a bigger thigh to cling on!"
Gabriella and Sharon turned pale and felt completely embarrassed as their family members blamed them.
Gabriella had been pushing for a divorce in Sharon's ears back then, and now that it was finalized, that deadbeat had become even more troublesome!
What a disappointment!
Gabriella was enraged, wanting to beat Ethan up the way she used to.
Sharon was shivering with anger as well. Who would've imagined Ethan to be so blatantly self-centered? He got a caretaker shortly after the divorce, and then turned around to attack the Thomas family. He truly was a wolf dressed in sheep's clothing!
Thankfully, they were able to successfully divorce him after seeing his "true colors."
While everyone began fighting, Uncle Thomas cleared his throat and remarked, "This whole argument is pointless. Either way, that worthless Ethan is the key to saving The Listening as well as our family's stock prices!"
Uncle turned to face Gabriella and Sharon at this moment, saying firmly "The family has suffered heavy losses as a result of your conduct. Therefore, both of you need to own up to this! You have three days to convince Ethan to spare The Listening and our family's reputation, by whatever means necessary."
Gabriella and Sharon went pale at this, but the other family members nodded in agreement.
“Ethan has indeed built a close connection with Miss Wilson. With his assistance, we can undoubtedly recover Thomas Group's losses," Christine murmured, hiding her lips and forcing a grin. "Sharon, you need to think about the bigger picture here! Which is more important, the Thomas family's welfare or your reputation? The situation will be settled as long as you please Ethan and let him speak to Miss Wilson."
Sharon felt an indescribable sensation of embarrassment, clenching her fist at Christine's words.
Did she really have to go beg that useless Ethan?
That would be even more gross than eating sh*t!
But no matter how much Sharon hated Ethan and didn't want to see him, she had to give in to the Thomas family's pressure as well as The Listening's imminent bankruptcy.
After a while, she called to invite Ethan.
Next afternoon, at the Fillin's Bistro.
Ethan was conflicted as he looked across at Sharon's icy, disdainful gaze.
It felt like a major difference from their friendly encounter three years ago to their stranger-like interaction now.
Ethan sighed softly as he opened his mouth to greet her.
But Sharon's expression became icy, openly ridiculing Ethan while saying, "Amazing, Ethan! You normally don't make much of a fuss, but who would've guessed that you could become a kept man? Even after three years of my support, you still didn't think it was enough. So, you decided to give up your dignity and become a pampered duck? You have no morals at all, Ethan. I wasted three years of my youth, thinking I was right about you."
Taken aback, Ethan realized that Beverly's intimate gesture from yesterday had led Sharon to misunderstand.
He attempted to clarify, "Sharon, things aren't what it looks like."
Before he could say anything more, Sharon slammed the table hard, fury visible on her face.
You still want to argue? You feel embarrassed now? What respect do you even have left at this point? Do you think everyone is a fool? Why would that Beverly help you if she wasn't keeping you, even going against the Johnsons for you?"
"You don't have any respect at all! What, are you going to claim you're a member of the Wilsons? Beverly's relative?”
After giving a solemn nod, Ethan said, "You're correct, Sharon. I'm from the Wilsons."
Sharon was shocked, and then lost her temper.
"You still want to brag? Alright, I can help you make a greater claim! Why don't you just announce that you're the Wilson family's heir, destined to inherit their wealth and easily become the richest person in the world?"
After giving Sharon's words some thought, Ethan sincerely replied, "If you want me to do that, it's not impossible."
"You filthy liar!" scoffed Sharon, gritting her teeth in a fit of rage. "I have no time to play games with you!"
If she didn’t need his help, she wouldn't have dealt with such a shameless and lying man.
In an attempt to gather herself, she bit her lip and revealed her motive.
"Cloud Group abruptly terminated The Listening's contract, and they went so far as to hold us responsible for the previous collaborations. The Listening is currently in risk of going bankrupt. Since you and Miss Wilson are close. Out of our three-year marriage, could you help plead with her to bring back The Listening's partnership with Cloud Group?"
When she said that, Ethan was taken aback.
How did things turn like this when he had explicitly told Jayden to keep helping The Listening?
But soon enough, he understood that Beverly must've been the one who did this!
