Chapter86 The Fiery Alice
Once back in the hotel room, Ethan took a shower before calling Chloe. They talked for a while, also discussing the events of the day.
Chloe expressed her absolute trust in Ethan, “It's just QU Group; I doubt Frank is a threat to you. The man I'm interested in is incomparable to those clowns.”
Unlike Sarah, she was a true descendant of a top-tier family, with a vision and perspective above ordinary people. “If you praise me like this, I’ll just become prouder,” Ethan laughed wryly, realizing that women in love were blind.
Once a woman's heart was stolen by a man, she would give her full devotion and trust without reservation, given that the man was deserving of that genuine affection. She earnestly advised, “Don't get arrogant too quickly. Sometimes, the most inconspicuous individuals can be the most dangerous. Despite my words earlier, you still need to handle them carefully. The most important thing is not to disappoint Grandpa Harris.”
“Most importantly, I can't disappoint you,” Ethan added. Without her intervention, he wouldn't have connected with the Harris family, even if it was only through a branch.
Chloe giggled on the other end. “If you truly think that way, then strive for the most outstanding achievements and impress Grandpa Harris. Just do your best!”
Just then, there was a sudden knock on the door.
Ethan frowned, wondering if it could be Sarah.
“Somebody's looking for me, so I'll talk to you later. Get some rest early today!”
Ethan explained to Chloe and ended the call before going to the door. He opened it, expecting to see Sarah. Instead, it was Alice, still wearing her professional suit.
“You look surprised. Not planning to invite me in?” Alice said, her eyes seductive and her smile full of charm. Unlike during the day, her jacket wasn't buttoned, and her white shirt looked even tighter. Even her black stockings had been replaced with more provocative fishnet stockings that would make any man's blood boil.
“Come in. I didn't expect you to visit me so late. What's the matter?”
Ethan avoided looking too much at her and turned to walk into the suite's living room.
Alice watched his back with a confident look in her eyes. She casually closed the door as she entered, but perhaps she applied less force, as the door didn't actually lock.
“I came here not for other matters, but for you and me!”
Alice entered the living room and saw Ethan sitting on the couch, pretending to watch the game on TV. Without hesitation, she sat beside him and used her slender fingers to lift his and turning his head toward her.
“Do you know how worried I've been about you lately? Why didn’t you answer my calls?”
His determined face was reflected in her deep blue eyes as she questioned him, filled with a hint of bitterness.
“Alice, don't do this. You know that Eric and I agreed not to involve you in the Wilson family’s feud. Of course, I didn't expect him to allow to come see me this time.”
Ethan quickly put some distance between them, his gaze back on the TV.
“If that old man doesn't agree, he might lose his precious daughter because of this. Why are you avoiding me? Is that game more interesting than I am? Take a closer look; they only have one ball, but you can have two here. What are you hesitating for?”
Alice's initiative caught Ethan off guard. Ever since he saw her dressed like this, he had a bad feeling. However, he didn’t expect her to be so bold as to get closer to him now!
The sensation on his arm made him jump off the couch as if he had been electrocuted.
“I'm sorry, Alice. I already have a girl I like! If I were single, maybe I would’ve chosen you. However, I can only apologize to you!”
Ethan turned his back to Alice.
Alice secretly gritted her teeth. If she were just an ordinary woman, Ethan might’ve kicked her out of the room without hesitation. However, she couldn't bear it. She knew very well the feelings that other woman had for him, and she felt a hint of helplessness and guilt in her heart. However, neither of them noticed the unsecured door, where a pair of shiny eyes were staring intently at the two inside, capturing everything in their entirety.
“I don't want to hear you say these things. Do you know how happy I was when I heard that you got divorced? Is the girl you mentioned the one from earlier today? I guess I shouldn't be any worse than that cute little girl, right?”
She wrapped her arms around Ethan from behind, sounding a bit excited along with slight begging.
“No, it's not her! She's just like you, Alice. We’re both impossible! Let's talk about more important matters, Alice.”
Ethan's tone was resolute. He couldn't afford to show any vulnerability on this issue, or else he’d be disappointing Chloe; the girl who’d risk her life to protect him.
Sarah, who was still peeping outside the door, heard Ethan's words. Her eyes flickered with a touch of sadness, sudden loss, and heartache that she didn't want to face.
“But I don't want to talk about that tonight. I want to have you completely; just once. I won’t expect anything in return, so can’t you just give me that?”
With determination, Alice latched onto Ethan. She cradled his face, and her hot lips were about to touch his.
“Alice, please stop. I don't want Eric to come after me! Moreover, I already have a woman I care about. I can't betray her...”
Ethan's face changed instantly. Just when he was struggling to figure out how to refuse this woman, the door was harshly pushed open!
“What are you doing?” Sarah's scolding voice made the two people in the living room freeze on the spot.
Sarah glared at Ethan angrily, bombarding him with questions, “Ethan, you said earlier that you had no such relationship with this woman earlier, but now I've seen it with my own eyes. How can you explain this?”
Ethan was drenched in sweat. He never expected actually getting caught by Sarah. This was such an awkward situation!
Why did he feel guilty, and how did Alice not even close the door properly?
“It's not what you think...” Once he realized, he quickly pushed Alice away and tried to explain. Unfortunately, Sarah interrupted him again before he could finish.
“I saw it with my own eyes. Chloe trusted you so much, but you… Just wait and see!”
Sarah turned around and closed the door, with it being shut tight this time!
