Chapter 660 The Choice of the Ladies Guild

"Sorry to make you all come all this way. I'm really at my wit's end, so I had to ask for your help. If you're willing to stick around, I might need to bring in more of your people."

Ethan got straight to the point and briefly explained that his family might be targeted by the Hills Guild or Cross Christianity.

"Mr. Wilson, are you looking for us to provide protection for your family?"

After understanding Ethan's intention, Patricia exchanged a glance with Deborah.

In principle, Ethan had done a great favor for the Ladies Guild, and they had no reason to refuse such a request.

But the enemies Ethan was facing were the Hills Guild and Cross Christianity, formidable entities. Even if they put the entire Ladies Guild on the line, it might not be enough to contend with them!

In other words, agreeing to Ethan's request would mean binding the entire Ladies Guild to him, sharing the same fate!

It would be nearly impossible to sever ties or back out in the future!

"That's exactly what I mean. What do you think?"

Ethan didn't beat around the bush and asked Patricia directly.

"Mr. Wilson, you know that for the Hills Guild, a super sect, or Cross Christianity, the Ladies Guild is just a minor player. Publicly opposing them is not something we can decide on our own."

After a moment of silence, Patricia smiled wryly.

"I understand. I consider you friends, so I won't force you to make a choice. I can give you some time to think it over."

Ethan seemed to have anticipated Patricia's response and nodded without concern.

"Thank you, Mr. Wilson, for your understanding. You know Linda is still in seclusion. I need to discuss this with the others before giving you an answer."

Patricia breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this.

"No problem. How long do you need?"

Ethan agreed without hesitation.

"I'll give you an answer by tonight at the latest. I'll go back to the Ladies Guild to discuss with Melissa and the others. Deborah will stay here; would you mind keeping an eye on her? If we reach a decision tonight, I'll inform you immediately."

Patricia made up her mind after some thought.

"Patricia, you want me to stay?"

Deborah was taken aback.

"Mr. Wilson is our friend. If you're not willing, I'll stay, and you can go back. No matter what the Ladies Guild decides, I'll stand by Mr. Wilson!"

Patricia's sudden declaration surprised both Ethan and Deborah.

"You don't have to do this. I'm not using our friendship to coerce you. I don't force friends to take sides."

Ethan reminded Patricia seriously.

"Mr. Wilson, I'm not one to make promises lightly, but I treat my friends sincerely. I may not represent the entire Ladies Guild, but I can represent myself. Since you consider me a friend, I won't abandon you when you need me."

Patricia explained earnestly.

"Thank you!"

Ethan couldn't help but smile.

It seemed his decision to spare Patricia and befriend her was the right one.

"Count me in too. Even if the others disagree, I'm willing to stay and help you!"

Deborah, inspired by Patricia's resolve, raised her hand without hesitation.

"Stay in Novaria and wait for me. Whether or not the guild agrees, I'll come back!"

Patricia instructed Deborah.

"Alright, go discuss with Melissa and the others. Mr. Wilson and I will wait for your news in Novaria!"

Deborah agreed immediately.

Whether Deborah was acting on impulse or not, her courage earned Ethan's respect.

Setting aside their gender, Ethan admired their conduct. These friends were truly worth having!

The investment in the Ladies Guild had paid off, proving worthwhile!

Of course, Ethan never approached friendships with a purely utilitarian mindset. He was always sincere with his friends!

After Patricia left, Ethan took Deborah back to the villa.

Since Ethan was rarely home recently, Chloe and the others stayed home instead of going to work. Ethan didn't feel safe letting them work without proper security arrangements.

When Ethan returned with another woman, Chloe and the others looked at him suspiciously.

Deborah felt awkward under their wary and curious gazes.

Fortunately, Ethan explained Deborah's identity and said she was there to protect them. Only then did they let down their guard and quickly warmed up to Deborah.

Choosing a master-level expert from the Ladies Guild to protect Chloe and the others was the best and safest method Ethan could think of. Men like Kenneth and Shane had their inconveniences.

That evening, Patricia returned to Novaria and went straight to Ethan's villa.

But she didn't come alone; she brought Bonnie with her!

Seeing Ethan's large family of women, Bonnie was stunned.

Even Patricia was taken aback by Ethan's 'large' family.

Men really were unpredictable, Patricia thought.

Bonnie, on the other hand, felt a bit self-conscious and buried her already difficult-to-admit feelings even deeper.

In terms of looks, none of Chloe and the others were inferior to her. In terms of strength... did being Ethan's woman require strength?

Even so, under Ethan's guidance, the weakest, Hannah, was close to breaking through to Half-Step Grandmaster!

Especially after hearing they had only recently become martial artists, Bonnie seriously doubted her own talent!

Regardless of Bonnie's feelings, Patricia began discussing the Ladies Guild's final decision with Ethan.

"Melissa and Lyric Vaughn will arrive in Novaria tomorrow. With Deborah and me, we should be able to take care of your wives. The others need to stay at the guild to handle daily affairs and wait for Linda to come out of seclusion."

Patricia briefly explained the Ladies Guild's final decision and arrangements.

They decided to help Ethan, but it was impractical for everyone to come to Novaria. Besides, disciples below the master level wouldn't be of much help against the threats they might face.

Even Patricia wasn't entirely confident!

"Thank you. Please convey my gratitude to the Ladies Guild members. I will repay you in the future!"

The burden on Ethan's mind eased with Patricia's return.

With the Ladies Guild protecting Chloe and the others, Ethan could leave when necessary without worry.

The Hills Guild and Cross Christianity had only a few top experts. Patricia and the others should be able to handle the rest, even if they couldn't win.
