Chapter 216 Secrets

In the hospital room, Kenny lay on the bed with his eyes still closed. Although he had regained consciousness, he felt exhausted, finding it difficult even to move a finger.

What made Kenny even more desperate was that his energy was drained; he couldn't sense even a trace of his superpowers!

Caspar was by Kenny's bedside, his eyes filled with tears of heartache and hatred for Ethan.

In the room next door, Ignatius had also been bedridden, looking feeble with his pale face.

"Ethan actually ambushed me! I am going to kill him!" Ignatius, burning with rage, continued to shout.

"Are you not embarrassed enough? You were defeated by a young man! You will be teased if word gets out!" Dorian looked at Ignatius with a cold expression and snorted.

"I wasn't defeated! If it weren't for that Gino who suddenly appeared, how could I have failed?" Ignatius continued to defend himself, unwilling to admit he had lost to Ethan.

"Gino? The one you mentioned as the boss of Midnight Oasis? Have you figured out his identity?" Dorian questioned as he frowned upon hearing this; he had never heard of such a person before.

"I don't think I'm wrong. That guy is also at the level of a half-step master, and he gave Ethan a capsule for healing. I couldn't determine its grade, but anyone who can casually produce a heart-protecting capsule is definitely not an ordinary person!" he explained, frustratedly. Ignatius's expression grew even more grim at the mere mention of the name, Gino.

"Could he be from Celestia Vale?" Dorian questioned as he squinted his eyes. Thinking about how Phoenix had been helping Ethan all day, he couldn't help but link Ethan to Celestia Vale.

"How could that be? Celestia Vale never gets involved in disputes unless there's a national crisis or a major upheaval. It's even less likely that someone from Celestia Vale would open a Midnight Oasis in Everglow City!" Ignatius immediately dismissed Dorian's speculation.

"You're probably right. It seems someone else is secretly helping Ethan. We still know too little about him!" Dorian stated, angrily, and squinted his eyes, wishing he could kill Ethan himself, but being supervised by Phoenix, he didn't dare make a move.

"So what? Once I recover, I'll settle this score with Ethan. I don't believe they can protect him forever!" Ignatius gritted his teeth and snorted.

"Let's set aside Ethan for now. What I'm more worried about is the situation with Isolde from the Harris family. I just got word from the hospital next door that Isolde is in critical condition and might not make it!" Dorian said worriedly, suddenly changing the subject, his face grew even grimmer.

"How is that possible? When I was on the scene, she was fine, just some superficial wounds. How could it be so serious?" Ignatius questioned, his eyes widened in shock.

"How do I know? The hospital's diagnosis is certain! I had it checked; there's no tampering! Regardless of the reason for her critical condition, we are now responsible!" Dorian said helplessly and glared at him.

"So, what are you planning to do? If the Harris family seizes this opportunity to make trouble, are you going to compromise?" Ignatius asked through gritted teeth, his face full of unwillingness.

"Compromise? I want to see how powerful the Harris family really is. Do they think they can easily take advantage of the Ashford family?" Dorian clenched his fists tightly, snorting dismissively.

At that moment, the door opened, and Caspar, who had been in the room next door, suddenly appeared in Ignatius's room.

"What are you doing here?" Dorian asked, frowning.

"Did Ethan injure you?" Caspar didn't answer Dorian's question but instead asked calmly and stared at Ignatius on the bed.

"Mrs. Ashford, I was ambushed by Ethan. If it weren't for a half-step master suddenly appearing to save him, he would be dead by now!" Evidently provoked by Caspar's words once again, he immediately clenched his fists and explained in a deep voice.

"A half-step master? Since when did a half-step master dare to oppose the Ashford family?" she questioned, impatiently. Caspar's face showed a hint of anger upon hearing this. She was somewhat surprised but mostly furious. At that time, anyone who tried to stop her from destroying Ethan would make her incredibly angry!

"His name is Gino. Have you heard of him? By the way, you both have the last name Salvador..."

Dorian tried to help Ignatius explain, but before he could finish, Caspar's expression changed dramatically!

"What did you say his name was?!" Caspar, full of shock, asked again.

"He is Gino! Why are you so amazed? Could he really be from the Salvador family?" Seeing Caspar's reaction, Dorian immediately had a bad feeling as he asked, seeking confirmation.

"How old is he?" Caspar was in a daze for a long time before she quickly asked Ignatius.

"He looks to be in his forties, not yet fifty," Ignatius replied, frowning.

"Is he really Gino? How could it be him? Wasn't he supposed to be dead?" Caspar muttered to herself, her face full of disbelief.

"What's going on? Who did you say was dead?" Seeing Caspar in such a daze, Dorian asked with a frown.

"Do you remember I told you I had an older brother who suddenly disappeared when he was twelve? I was only about ten at the time. Although many years have passed, I only remember what he looked like as a child, and even that is blurry. But I remember the name, Gino, without a doubt!" Caspar explained to Dorian, somewhat lost.

"Wasn't your older brother said to have gone mad?" Dorian asked, sounding even more shocked. "If he had been alive all these years, how could you not have heard anything about him?"

"I'm not sure. Madness was just an excuse. In reality, no one saw him, and even the Salvador family doesn't have his photo! I had my doubts for a long time, but the family never talked about it!" Caspar shook her head and explained.

"Could it really be such a coincidence? Maybe it's just a coincidence, and they happen to have the same name!" Dorian said, "Don't jump to conclusions. Ask Rex first and see what he says!" Dorian, much calmer than Caspar, quickly came up with a plan and reminded her to verify with the Salvador family.

Caspar immediately followed his suggestion, took out her phone, and called Rex. However, after hearing her question, Rex, the current head of the Salvador family, showed no surprise. He told Caspar not to ask unnecessary questions and then hung up.

"How did it go? What did Rex say?" Dorian quickly asked when he saw Caspar put down her phone.

"My dad didn't say anything and told me not to ask more questions!" she answered, angrily. Caspar's face was full of shock and disbelief. Rex's attitude clearly indicated many things. Her intuition was right; this Gino was indeed her brother, who had been missing for over thirty years!

"It really is him!" Dorian exclaimed.

"Why would Rex hide this? Isn't he the heir of the Salvador family? What are they hiding?" Dorian questioned, confused.

He pondered, 'Given Gino's status, he would be the successor of the Salvador family. But why didn't he return to the family in the past thirty years? Why is there no news of him at all?'
