Chapter 415 Spencer Was Stifled

After Spencer's convoy left, Ethan showed up next to Arnold, who was still twitching with wide eyes and a smirk.

"I don't know if I should save you, but I hope it's worth it. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind sending you to meet God!" Ethan squatted down, stuck a few silver needles into Arnold's chest, and transferred some super energy to him.

Luckily, when Anna fired, she missed the heart by a bit. Otherwise, Arnold would be a goner!

Suddenly, Arnold coughed up all the blood in his chest. His pale face regained some color, and he slowly woke up.

"Ethan? Is that you?" Arnold's eyes were filled with confusion. He probably wondered why Ethan was here instead of in Herong's hands.

"Where's the stuff? Tell me, and I'll save you!" Ethan cut to the chase.

Arnold was silent for a moment, then smiled bitterly and shook his head. "How do you know they didn't take the real thing?"

"It's simple. I don't think you're dumb enough to hand it over to someone else!" Ethan said confidently.

"Alright. I'll give you the stuff, but you have to save me!" Arnold gritted his teeth and nodded.

"Actually, you have no choice. I woke you up, but I'm just keeping you alive. If I don't save you, you'll be chatting with God in less than half an hour!" Ethan warned.

"Don't worry. Since I promised, I won't play any tricks. I don't want to die! And you being here is a huge surprise, not just because you saved me!" Arnold nodded and even smiled.

"Maybe you expect me to go over there and fight them?" Ethan shrugged.

"No, if Spencer knows he's been tricked, his reaction will be priceless! And that damn Anna, I'll deal with her myself if I get the chance!" Arnold said through gritted teeth.

"You'll get that chance. As long as I don't want you dead, not even God can take your life!" Ethan laughed, then lifted Arnold with one hand and disappeared by the roadside.

Three miles outside the palace, by the moat, Spencer and his men arrived at the designated spot but found no one around.

"What's going on? Herong arranged to meet Arnold here. Why isn't he here yet?" Anna looked at the quiet river and listened to the insects in the nearby woods, feeling uneasy.

"Text him, don't call!" Spencer handed Anna the phone they took from Arnold.

Since it wasn't Arnold himself, calling might alert Herong.

Anna frowned but took the phone and texted Herong, asking what was up.

The message seemed to vanish into thin air, with no reply.

After ten minutes, Spencer's face darkened, realizing they might have been duped.

He couldn't figure out where things went wrong.

If this was Arnold's plan, it was crazy to think he'd risk his life to trick them!

"Is Arnold dead?" Spencer suddenly asked.

"I shot him in the chest; he should be dead!" Anna's face changed, and she quickly replied.

"What do you mean 'should'? Everyone, get back; I need to know if Arnold is really dead!" Spencer roared, and everyone immediately got into their cars and left.

"If I find out you're playing tricks, you know what'll happen!" Spencer glared at Anna and got into the car.

"I have a hunch you've been played!" Blair, sitting in the car, reminded Spencer.

"If I've been played, will that make you happy?" Spencer rolled his eyes and ordered the driver to go.

Soon, Spencer's convoy returned to the spot where they fought Arnold and his men.

But there was no sign of Arnold or any bodies. Most had been taken by the local police to the morgue for autopsy.

"The police confirmed Arnold's body wasn't found at the scene!" Anna, pale-faced, walked up to Spencer nervously.

"Didn't you say he was dead? How do you explain this?" Spencer squinted and asked in a deep voice.

"I don't know. I clearly shot him in the chest; it couldn't be wrong! Maybe someone took his body!" Anna explained in a panic.

But before she could finish, she suddenly spat out blood. Her eyes widened in disbelief as she looked down at her chest, where a hand had pierced through!

Spencer frowned and turned away in disgust.

Anna's body fell, revealing Blair with a bloodthirsty smile. "Why waste words on useless trash?"

"You really make me sick!" Spencer snorted and got into the car.

"But I love the thrill of my hand piercing through someone. I guess I can't change that!" Blair sighed, shook his hand clean of blood, and didn't get a drop on himself.

"Blair, if you have nothing better to do, find that damn Herong! If this is a conspiracy, it means we've been played by Herong and Arnold together!" Spencer closed the car door and ordered.

"I hate the way you talk to me. Don't do it again!" Blair glared at Spencer and disappeared.

Spencer's eyes flashed with anger, but he took a deep breath and acted like nothing happened, ordering the driver to go.
