Chapter92 Frank and Louis Stand Tall
At QU Group, inside the chairman’s office.
Frank was currently satisfied, and even Louis had an excited look on his face.
“The people below said that when we intercepted Evander outside Sun Lake this morning, he looked particularly upset! It was truly a sight to behold. Ethan probably never thought this would happen, huh?”
Louis appeared to take pleasure in another's misfortune, as if he already envisioned Ethan coming to them, desperately begging for mercy.
“You’re this happy over a single Evander. You’ll be elated when Ethan eventually kneels before us!” Frank glanced at Louis, who was reveling in his own delight. Despite saying that, he had a smile as well.
Suddenly, a female secretary came in to report. “Boss, Evander from Shine Group is here to see you!”
Louis furrowed his eyebrows when he heard this, “Evander? Ethan’s probably worried for his reputation, so he sent this guy to embarrass us, right?”
“Let him in!” Frank, however, let out a cold snort.
Evander entered the office and said, “Mr. Frank, now that we have control over Sun Lake’s land, you should set a price for Shine Group to buy it!”
The two of them were originally enemies, so there was no need for pleasantries.
“Who do you think you are? Tell Ethan that if he wants the land, he should come and beg me in person! Maybe then I'll consider giving it to him as a gift.” Frank snorted coldly, making the atmosphere tense.
“Frank, don't go too far. Ethan has no relation to Shine Group; If you really want negotiation, then talk to me. I'm the one in charge of the company now!” Evander was so angry that he trembled all over, pointing at Frank's face as a warning.
Frank sneered coldly as he signaled to Louis, “You’re unqualified. In my eyes, you're nothing more than the Harris family’s dog. I never expected you to take Ethan as your other master! Even an actual dog is loyal to only one owner. How dare you be arrogant in front of me? Have the security guards take this dog out!”
Louis immediately brought in a few security guards, grabbing Evander and dragging him out.
“Frank, you bastard! How dare you treat me like this! Don't think Shine Group is easy to bully. I’ll make you regret today!” Evander struggled fiercely, but how could he possibly match the security guards?
“Go back and tell Ethan that I’m waiting for him to beg me!” Frank watched as Evander was dragged out in a sorry state, his face filled with satisfaction.
After being driven out of QU Group with a gloomy face, Evander headed straight to the hotel to meet Ethan and Sarah.
“How did it go? What did that old geezer, Frank, say?” Sarah quickly inquired upon Evander's return.
“Frank said Mr. Wilson has to beg him in person, otherwise there won’t be any deal. He even had his security guards drag me out!” Evander sighed helplessly, clearly feeling uneasy about this whole thing.
Hearing this, Sarah was angry. “Frank is really going too far! How could he treat you like that? Ethan, I told you that your idea was naive. Why would Frank sell the land to us? Are you satisfied with this outcome now?”
Ethan rubbed his nose, forced to smile bitterly in response.
He turned to Evander and asked, “Did you do what I asked you to do?”
“Oh, I did. The entire process was recorded, but what do you need it for?” Evander remembered something and took out a recorder from his pocket, handing it to Ethan.
Ethan patted Evander's shoulder confidently, “I promise you, it’ll be useful. I promise you’ll soon recover from what happened today!”
“What exactly are you doing? I've been asking you what your plan is, but you haven't told me yet. You caused all this trouble, but you won’t even explain it to me?” Sarah looked at the recorder, her face full of doubt as she asked.
Ethan put the recorder directly into his pocket and asked while smiling, “Don't worry, you’ll see results soon. Didn't Frank say he wanted me to come personally? If that’s the case, I’ll do as he wants. Do you want to come with me and see his satisfied face right now?”
Sarah snorted and turned her head away, “You still don't find it embarrassing, huh? Go if you want, I won’t be coming!”
Ethan didn't explain further. Since she didn't want to go, he also didn’t push it and went straight down to the hotel alone.
Just as he was about to get into the car, he saw Sarah rushing out hurriedly.
He laughed, “I thought you said you weren't going?”
“I'm not going for you, but for Chloe. Otherwise, who’d be around to look after you?” Sarah rolled her eyes and angrily got into the car.
He couldn't help but find her contradictory behavior both funny and exasperating. He also got into the car, going straight toward QU Group.
Back in the office, Frank and Louis no longer took Ethan and Shine Group seriously after humiliating Evander.
Louis said, “After treating Evander like a dog and kicking him out, I wonder what expression that Ethan will have if he finds out.”
Unable to hide his excitement, Frank smugly said, “He’s just an ignorant young man who thinks highly of himself! Today, I’ll make him realize the cost of offending me!”
Louis laughed triumphantly, “Exactly! As long as we have control over the land, Ethan will have to come beg us. Otherwise, their project will be terminated!”
Frank was also filled with confidence. After all, Sun Lake’s area was the most suitable for developing Seattle’s tourism industry. If Ethan couldn't secure this land, it‘d be impossible for him to find another suitable location. That's why he was so determined in getting this land from Alice with such a high price.
“How long do you think Ethan can hold on? A day or two?” Louis guessed, trying to figure out.
“Once the news spreads that we have control over the land, Ethan won't last more than two days before he comes and beg me!” Frank coldly laughed, giving a time limit as if he controlled everything.
At this moment, the secretary entered again and reported. “President, Mr. Wilson and Miss Harris are here to see you.”
Frank and Louis exchanged looks. They did anticipate Ethan would have to bow down and beg for mercy, but they didn't expect him to come so quickly. Evander had just left barely 30 minutes ago, but Ethan had already arrived.
