Chapter 327 Nonsense
Gino didn't know why Phoenix suddenly appeared here, not to mention Paul and Caspar.
Gino and Phoenix belonged to two different factions; at least on the surface, they were enemies.
Phoenix clearly wasn't to cause trouble, which made Gino even more touched.
"Since my apprentice is about to be taken away by you, can't I say something about it?" Phoenix smiled and retorted to Paul.
With that, the three people present were all shocked.
"You mean Gino is your apprentice?" Paul's eyes widened as he took a deep breath.
Actually, Phoenix's only apprentice was still in Celestia Vale. There had never been any mention of Phoenix having other apprentices!
"Yes, Paul, he is an apprentice I took on years ago!" Phoenix nodded with a smile.
"No, he can't be a disciple of Celestia Vale! His name isn't on the roster of Celestia Vale disciples! Even if you are a deacon elder, such an important matter as taking on an apprentice would definitely be recorded!" Paul's face changed before he suddenly shook his head.
"Do you think I would lie? My apprentice's name is indeed on the roster. You just haven't found it!" Phoenix clasped his hands together, then waved his right hand, and a booklet appeared in his hand.
Paul snatched it and flipped through a couple of pages, not finding Gino's name, and laughed triumphantly.
"Phoenix, you can't talk barefaced nonsense! This roster is your list of apprentices. You only have two apprentices under your name, and none of them are named Gino!" Paul said as he threw the booklet back to Phoenix.
"When Gino joined, I gave him the name Craig!" Phoenix calmly put away the roster and reminded him unhurriedly.
Everyone in Celestia Vale only knew that Phoenix had one disciple, Ernest, who was also a master-level expert and a standout among the younger generation of Celestia Vale.
However, no one had ever heard of Craig!
"You mean the Craig on the roster is Gino?" Paul's face turned extremely ugly!
"That's right. When I took Gino as an apprentice, I promised he could practice with his real name. There's nothing strange about that!" Fearing that Paul wouldn't understand or would find another reason to argue, Phoenix added more details to confirm that Gino was indeed his apprentice.
Paul's face was quite a sight, twitching as he couldn't refute.
Phoenix's influence and power in Celestia Vale were beyond Paul's ability to challenge, especially in this situation, leaving him helpless!
"Fine, I was reckless this time! Even so, I'll have the Salvador family select another member to participate in the Selection Meeting. But I wonder if Gino will participate in the Selection Meeting this time?" Paul asked.
Paul knew it was impossible to take Gino as an apprentice now, so he had to give up for the moment. Of course, he wouldn't back down so easily, and this last question was a trap for both Gino and Phoenix!
"You're overstepping your bounds!" Phoenix straightforwardly avoided answering and retorted unceremoniously for the first time.
Paul's mouth twitched, and he stared at Gino for a few seconds before reluctantly saying, "In that case, I won't disturb you any longer!"
With that, Paul disappeared from Gino's office.
From beginning to end, Gino hadn't spoken, as he couldn't figure out Phoenix's purpose for doing this!
Phoenix's sudden appearance was surprising enough, but claiming that Gino was his apprentice was even more absurd!
As soon as Paul disappeared, Phoenix's gentle gaze fell on Gino.
Seeing Phoenix's kind demeanor, Gino asked softly, "Phoenix, when did I become your apprentice?"
"You've always been my apprentice!" Phoenix replied with a smile.
Caspar was too stunned to speak, especially with Phoenix present, leaving her no room to say anything!
"You should know who my master is!" Gino's face changed upon hearing this!
Since being taken as an apprentice by Francis thirty years ago, Gino hadn't taken any other master, and certainly not before that. He couldn't possibly be Phoenix's apprentice.
"Don't be so quick to deny it. I have a letter here from Emerald Valley. Perhaps you'll understand after reading it!" Phoenix said as he handed a letter to Gino.
Gino took the letter with suspicion, and upon seeing his name on the envelope, he was shocked!
With that handwriting, this was clearly a letter from Francis!
Gino took a deep breath, trying to control his emotions, and opened the envelope to read the letter inside.
While he was reading, Phoenix's gaze fell on the still somewhat bewildered Caspar.
"Mrs. Ashford, is there anything else?" Phoenix's question left Caspar speechless!
Caspar realized that Phoenix didn't want her to stay here!
"I came to visit Gino. Since you're here, I'll leave now!" Caspar gave Gino a reluctant look before turning to leave.
Even after Caspar turned away, Gino didn't look up at her. He was completely absorbed in the contents of the letter, unable to focus on anything else!
