Chapter 611 Angel's Speculation
That night, Ethan stirred up quite a ruckus at Vast Mountain because of Bonnie and Margare's situation. Logically speaking, the defenses of the ML Guild should have been much tighter; it was impossible that they would have only assigned one master-level guardian.
It was just like before when only Alessandro was around. Ethan thought, 'Do they not learn their lesson, or are they just not sweating it?'
"But on the nearby mountains, there are a bunch of folks at your level. From their positions and connections, it looks like they're setting up some kind of Magic Circle!" Angel's words made Ethan's heart race.
"Wait, so there are master-level guards on the other mountains too? And what's this Magic Circle thing?" Ethan asked right away.
Angel sighed. "We don't know exactly what kind of Magic Circle it is yet. We'll have to wait until it kicks in to find out. It feels like a Trap Circle, and there might even be a Murder Circle hidden in there!"
"Trap Circle, Murder Circle?" Ethan frowned.
"Do you think that little Moonhowl might be here?" Angel asked, curious.
"Are they using this Magic Circle to deal with it?" Ethan wondered, frowning.
"Could be. I think the Moonhowl is an adult divine beast napping here for some reason, and its strength is hard to pin down," Angel said thoughtfully.
"How'd you figure that out?" Ethan's expression changed.
Angel reminded him, "If it were a baby divine beast, these folks could easily nab it without such a complex Magic Circle. Plus, if it's a divine beast in its Infant Stage, then its mother must be nearby as well. Clearly, there can't be a Transformation Stage presence here."
Ethan hadn't thought of that and nodded.
"So, beasts can only have kids after reaching the Transformation Stage?" Ethan's face grew more serious.
Angel added, "Not necessarily. But for the Moonhowl clan, if they don't hit the Transformation Stage, their offspring's bloodline would be super weak. So, they usually wait until they reach that stage to have kids."
Ethan couldn't help but chuckle bitterly. "So, the little Moonhowl I want to catch might actually be way older than me!"
"That's probably the case!" Angel nodded. She smiled and said, "I suggest you watch from the outside first. The folks on that mountain might not be able to catch it either. If they can handle that Moonhowl, then maybe you can too!"
"You mean, wait and see, then jump in during the chaos?" Ethan's heart raced.
"Exactly. Whether you can subdue it will only be known once it actually shows up!" Angel nodded seriously.
"Looks like that's the only way. So, my plan to involve other hidden sects was actually a lucky move! I need to tell the Ladies Guild to be cautious and not rush up Vast Mountain!" Ethan nodded, realizing the plan.
Angel suddenly gasped, "There's a hidden realm by that mountain."
"Hidden realm?" Ethan raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, it's like a small secret realm. These places usually house small sects and are often protected by defensive Magic Circles," Angel explained.
Ethan remembered the secret realm exit where he bumped into Davide last night and realized that must be the ML Guild's spot!
"What did you find out?" Ethan asked right away.
Meanwhile, at the ML Guild's secret realm exit, a middle-aged man with a chiseled face and a gloomy expression appeared.
"Why do I feel like someone’s watching me?" The ML Guild's leader, Dirk Ingram, frowned and muttered to himself.
"The Magic Circle is ready. Do you want to check it out yourself?" Davide appeared, respectfully asking Dirk.
"Any news from Seth?" Dirk didn't answer, still trying to figure out who might be spying on him, and instead asked Davide.
"The disciples in Everglow City said they couldn't find any trace of him! But from what we’ve heard, it’s pretty clear he ran into trouble with that Ethan guy, and it doesn’t look good," Davide explained, his face dark, hinting that Seth was probably dead.
Dirk immediately lashed out with a palm strike, sending Davide flying before he could react. Davide landed on one knee, clutching his chest, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
"You better hope this has nothing to do with you. Don’t think I don’t know about your internal squabbles!" Dirk glared at Davide angrily.
"I wouldn’t dare get involved," Davide quickly assured, bowing his head.
"I thought so. Get up," Dirk snorted coldly and ordered.
Davide breathed a sigh of relief and quickly stood up. Dirk's palm strike was a warning, causing some pain but not seriously injuring him. It was more about venting his anger.
"Is your info accurate? Does the Ladies Guild really have the guts to mess with me?" Dirk suddenly changed the subject.
"The disciples we sent out have reported back, and it’s pretty certain that the Ladies Guild is spreading bad rumors about us. It’s all Alessandro’s fault; he let two female disciples from the Ladies Guild escape last night!" Davide quickly shifted all the blame to Alessandro, fearing Dirk's wrath.
"Didn't you also fail to capture that troublemaker?" Dirk snorted dismissively. Though angry, he clearly understood what Davide was thinking.
Davide looked embarrassed and didn’t know how to explain. At that moment, an ML Guild disciple hurried over and reported to Davide, "The situation you asked me to check has been confirmed!"
Davide's eyes lit up, and he quickly asked, "What’s the result?"
The disciple replied, "Based on your description and various intel, the mysterious young man who showed up last night should be Ethan!"
