Chapter55 The Young Master Actually Framed His Own Grandfather
“Your friend? You must be kidding me, Sarah! You’re the Harris family’s most important member. You should know your own standing, yet here you are, always befriending these strange people. I can tell he’s up to no good just by looking!”
James was shocked by Sarah’s words, but then sneered dismissively and continued with sharper words.
“You’re being incredibly rude, James. Ethan is here because of me. He is my friend!” Chloe stepped forward and warned him without any politeness.
James raised an eyebrow. “Miss Miller is here too? How interesting. It seems like your taste isn’t that great as well. Your friend snoops around like a thief, constantly looking around as if he’s planning something. Don't forget that this is the Harris family, and I am its young master! You should understand who the master here is, so return to your family!”
Sarah angrily reprimanded him, “That's enough, James! Did you come back just to argue? Don't forget our grandfather is still lying in bed!”
“I can't be bothered to argue with you people. It's better to let this kind of person leave early. I still need to bring the Russian expert to see my grandfather!” James snorted, seemingly remembering why he returned. He shouted toward the door, “Come in, Edwin!”
Shortly after, a middle-aged man wearing a white coat and holding some specialized medical instruments walked in from outside.
“Wait... who is he? Did you randomly bring someone to see Grandfather without Uncle's permission?” Sarah immediately blocked their way, her face filled with suspicion as she asked.
“I’ve already informed my dad, and he’ll be here soon. Besides, Edwin is a Russian medical expert and even a professor at a medical school! If you have time to stop me, you should quickly get the unrelated people out. Therefore, if Dad arrives, they wouldn’t start blaming you for being mistreated!” James sneered again, leading Edwin straight upstairs.
“I’m sorry, Ethan. That was my cousin, James. He’s always been arrogant because of his connections, but please ignore him!” Sarah could only apologize to Ethan.
Chloe earnestly reminded Sarah, “James has grown even more insufferable, and your uncle isn't a kind person either. The Harris family relies on your dad's hard work, so what's the difference between them and parasites? You should be careful and see your grandfather quickly!”
“Yeah, I really need to check make sure they don't cause trouble!” Sarah knew that Chloe's words made sense, immediately rushing upstairs.
“We should go up as well and check it out!” Chloe said as she pulled Ethan along.
Ethan followed along. He initially had no thoughts of getting involved in the Harris family’s internal disputes. However, as soon as he reached the stairs, he felt stronger vibrations coming from the bead. Thus, he quickly swallowed his words.
The further he climbed, the colder the bead was. This made him realize that whatever was causing the bead to react was likely upstairs!
When they arrived outside Grandpa Harris's room, the coldness grew stronger. Ethan was almost certain that there was something in this room that was attracting the bead!
What exactly was in the room?
Seeing Ethan and Chloe entering, James angrily asked, “Sarah, why did you bring the two outsiders up here? Will you be responsible if anything happens to Grandpa?”
Sarah responded with a biting remark, “They’re my friends, so of course I will take responsibility. As for you, I can’t help but be suspicious with you bringing in some foreigner out of the blue, claiming to check on Grandpa’s health!”
On the other hand, Ethan felt that the thing attracting the bead seemed to be on the bed right in front of him, more accurately, on Grandpa Harris himself!
At that moment, Edwin was pretending to examine Grandpa Harris's body, using a stethoscope to listen all over his chest.
Ethan could tell that Grandpa Harris had been healthy before, but now his face had a strange grayish tint.
After a while, Edwin turned to James and bluntly said, “Mr. Harris, your grandfather seems to have been poisoned. However, the treatment will be quite troublesome and expensive!”
Ethan immediately rolled his eyes. Just by a casual look and a few heartbeats, he could tell it was poisoning?
While he could infer some things from Grandpa's complexion, he didn't dare to confidently assert anything. The other party must be bluffing!
Sarah's face turned ugly upon hearing Edwin's words, “Several renowned doctors have already said that Grandpa’s been poisoned, but they have no clue about how to save him. Despite that, you’re saying you can treat him?”
Edwin confidently replied, “Miss Harris, are you questioning my capabilities? For your information, I am a professor at Stavropol State Medical University. Honestly, the doctors before couldn’t cure him because their skills are inferior to mine!”
She coldly asked, “In that case, can you cure my grandfather?”
He glanced at James and indifferently said, “Yes, but it’ll cost ten million dollars for the treatment! Of course, I’ll need to see the money first before I can proceed with the treatment!”
Hearing this, James ordered Sarah, “Didn't you hear what the he said? Hurry up and have your dad transfer the money. Don't you still want to save Grandpa?”
Ethan sneered when he heard this.
