Chapter 576 A Gathering of Demons

Ethan's moves were straight-up dumb in Seth's eyes.

He had a killer defensive tool and didn't even use it to save his own skin. Instead, he wasted it on those three nobodies.

"You seriously used that life-saving gadget on those three?" Seth shot Ethan a weird look and asked.

"My goal was to save them, and clearly, I nailed it," Ethan shrugged like it was no big deal.

"Alright, since you saved them, shouldn't you hand that thing over to me now?" Seth cut to the chase, took a deep breath, and held out his hand.

Ethan looked at Seth like he was an idiot and said, "Are you dumb? Did you forget what I said earlier? If you want the Sacred Wood, you gotta have the guts to take it from me."

Seth was fuming. He thought Ethan used the Grail to protect Angela and the others just to keep him from getting the Sacred Wood and then back out of their deal. He didn't expect Ethan to be so gutsy, ready to throw down without a defensive artifact.

"Whatever. Given your age, your memory might be shot. I'll let it slide this time. Don't say I didn't give you a chance. If you want the Sacred Wood, come and get it," Ethan waved the Sacred Wood in his hand, smirking like a jerk.

"You asked for it! Do you really think I, a late-stage master, am a pushover? Today, I'll show you the gap between late-stage and early-stage masters," Seth roared and charged at Ethan again. He didn't believe Ethan had another defensive artifact up his sleeve.

But, surprise surprise, the same thing happened again. Just as Seth got close, he got bounced back by a powerful force. This time, it was even stronger, and Seth ended up spitting blood in mid-air.

"Oops, forgot to mention, I got more than one artifact," Ethan said smugly, looking at Seth's horrified face.

Honestly, anyone could see it—the slowly spinning tower above Ethan's head.

Seth was speechless, totally stunned.

"Now let's see if you, a late-stage master, can break through this," Ethan taunted, clearly not done messing with Seth.

"I don't believe this thing can protect you forever," Seth growled, holding back his rage, and launched a fierce attack on the Requiem Tower.

But no matter what he did—punches, kicks, palm strikes—they all got bounced back by the tower's force. His attacks didn't even leave a scratch.

"With skills like that, you think you can take my Sacred Wood? Not just you, even your boss wouldn't stand a chance," Ethan sneered, full of mockery.

"No way! How can you keep an artifact going for so long?" Seth was genuinely floored this time. He'd been hammering away for ages, but the Requiem Tower's barrier hadn't budged. In fact, it seemed to be getting stronger, and the counterforce was hitting harder.

He figured an artifact like that would drain a ton of energy. But Ethan didn't even look winded.

What Seth didn't know was that both the Requiem Tower and the Grail ran on spiritual energy. And Ethan's spiritual energy was off the charts, even stronger than a grandmaster's.

If this kept up, the barrier wouldn't break, and Seth might end up seriously hurt and coughing up blood.

"Seth, I told you he wasn't a pushover, but you didn't listen. You even said I was overreacting. Now what?" A mocking male voice came from a nearby hill.

As soon as the voice stopped, Ambrose Reynolds appeared between Ethan and Seth.

"Ambrose, you actually followed me?" Seth's face darkened when he saw who it was.

Ethan, on the other hand, felt a bit uneasy. Clearly, Seth wasn't the only one after the Sacred Wood.

"Seth, how can you hog it all to yourself? You've got something that good and won't share?" Another voice chimed in, this time a sultry middle-aged woman, Patricia Jenkins.

Patricia wasn't alone; she had five other late-stage master level experts with her. Including Ambrose and Seth, there were now eight late-stage master level experts, aside from Ethan. Even in Celestia Vale, this was a rare sight.

The strength and resources of these hidden sects were no joke.

"Patricia, didn't expect you to join the party too." Seth looked at Patricia with a hint of fear, something he didn't show when Ambrose appeared. Clearly, Patricia was no lightweight.

Now it was a real gathering of heavy hitters, with more people showing up.

"The Sacred Wood is crucial for the ML Guild, but it's also important for our other sects. Anyway, it's not in your hands. Whoever can take it, owns it," Patricia giggled, her voice as youthful as a girl's.

"But looking at the situation, it seems tricky. This guy Ethan's got a strong background, wielding two defensive artifacts. Even if the eight of us team up, it would be tough to break through quickly, right?" Ambrose eyed the Grail and the Requiem Tower, raising his eyebrows.

Hearing this, everyone's eyes locked onto Ethan.

"Seriously? You planning to gang up on me? How can you call yourselves late-stage master level experts while ganging up on an early-stage master like me?" Ethan frowned. He wasn't worried about Seth alone, but if these eight teamed up, it would be a real problem.
