Chapter 398 A Trap
Angela didn't expect Ethan to be so confident. When he hung up the phone for the second time, she frowned and said, "What if she refuses to talk?"
Ethan parked the car, turned to Anna, and smiled. "Looks like Arnold's testing your loyalty through me. Think you'll disappoint him?"
"You won't get anything from me!" Anna snapped, glaring at Ethan.
"Ever tried my silver needle technique? I know you're a trained agent, but have you ever experienced feelings like ten thousand ants biting you? I don't need ants or to hurt you. Just three needles can do the trick," Ethan said, showing three shiny needles, making Anna shiver.
"You devil! Touch me, and you'll wish you were dead," Anna said, terrified. She'd seen Ethan's needles pierce through over twenty wrists in an instant.
"Seems you don't believe me. To meet Arnold sooner, I'll have to trouble you," Ethan said, smiling as he got ready.
This time, he didn't rush. He slowly inserted the needles into Anna's neck, abdomen, and wrist.
Two needles were in. Just as he was about to insert the third, his phone rang.
"Looks like Arnold figured it out. Lucky for you," Ethan said, smiling as he answered the call.
Anna, tense, finally sighed in relief, though she was still pale.
"What did you do to Anna?" Arnold's voice came through the phone.
"Your call was just in time," Ethan chuckled.
"215 Fifth Avenue. Come now; I'll be waiting," Arnold said and hung up.
Ethan put away his phone, removed the needles from Anna, and drove off.
"Did he give you the address?" Angela asked anxiously.
"215 Fifth Avenue. Isn't that a diplomatic office of Madryd in Norway?" Ethan asked, smiling.
"Madryd?" Angela looked at Anna, recalling the twenty agents earlier, and frowned.
"Could it be a trap? They might not be from Norway or Madryd. They could be from another country."
"If it's a trap, Arnold's abandoned her too," Ethan said nonchalantly.
Angela looked at the still pale Anna.
"No, you can't go. We're not from Madryd. If you want to go, go alone. I'm not dying with you!" Anna shouted.
Angela's face changed. Was Arnold really sending them to their deaths?
"Calm down. You're going whether you like it or not, or I'll send you to meet your maker right now!" Ethan said, already piercing Anna with a silver needle.
Anna immediately lost feeling in her upper body, unable to even turn her head or open her mouth.
"What are you doing? I haven't finished questioning her!" Angela snapped at Ethan.
"It's obviously a trap. What's the point of asking more?" Ethan chuckled.
"Then why are you still going?" Angela frowned, confused.
"Arnold thinks he's smart, trying to kill two birds with one stone. Do I look like a fool?" Ethan sneered.
"You look worse than a fool!" Angela retorted angrily.
"What do you think will happen if Madryd finds out their office was attacked and the attackers were Arnold's people?" Ethan asked with a smile.
Angela looked at Anna, understanding Ethan's plan. Arnold wanted to kill two birds with one stone, and Ethan was playing along. More importantly, they had Anna, who could be traced back to Arnold.
If Arnold was telling the truth, there'd be no need for such trouble. But if he was lying, Ethan's framing would make Arnold suffer, and he wouldn't be able to explain himself.
Anna's eyes showed even more fear. She could foresee her miserable fate but could barely move, with only her legs having some feeling.
Half an hour later, Ethan parked the car a block away from 215 Fifth Avenue.
Ethan removed the needles from Anna and smiled. "Now, tell me everything you know."
"I'll tell you, but you must guarantee my safety and give me enough money to live comfortably for the rest of my life! I've had enough of this damn job!" Anna said, clearly having made a final decision.
"This card has thirty million dollars, and the password is four zeros. I prepared this much for this trip. It should be enough for you," Ethan said, stuffing a bank card into Anna's jacket pocket.
"We're agents from the Kyro Intelligence Bureau, Section Nine. Arnold is our deputy director and head of Section Nine. He wants to kill two birds with one stone," Anna revealed, knowing she had no room to bargain.
"Where can I find him? And where's the hard drive?" Ethan asked.
"The hard drive is with Arnold. He's cautious and wouldn't keep something so important in one place. He probably carries it with him. As for his whereabouts, I don't know," Anna explained helplessly.
"Thirty million dollars isn't easy to earn. I need to find him, or you'll have to come with us!" Ethan warned, staring at Anna.
