Chapter 610 Familiar Aura
"The mark's been taken to Vast Mountain, and the Moonhowl from the wolf clan has shown up. We mustn't let such a spirit beast be taken by Vexa's hidden sects," Salvatore sneered.
"The Moonhowl's finally appeared?" The Grandmaster was shocked. The other masters looked confused, clearly not getting the significance. It was obvious the Grandmaster knew way more than his subordinates.
"Yeah, if it weren't for our intel within the hidden sects, we'd still be clueless," Salvatore sneered again.
"So the rumors are true, there really are spirit beasts in this world!" The Grandmaster looked horrified.
"This world used to have spirit beasts, but they almost went extinct due to several upheavals thousands of years ago. Maybe this Moonhowl is the key to our return to Vexa, so we can't mess this up," Salvatore's voice turned cold as he gave his orders again.
"Got it. I'll send disciples to Vast Mountain right away." The Grandmaster quickly nodded.
Meanwhile, Ethan had no idea that while he was thinking about the Moonhowl, a big enemy from outside the region had already set their sights on it.
After leaving Flowers Valley, Ethan and Kenneth soon found themselves on a desolate mountain near Vast Mountain.
"Mr. Wilson, we can't check out the situation on the mountain from this distance. Should I go ahead and scout?" Kenneth looked at the peak of Vast Mountain, about 15 miles away, and offered to Ethan.
"No need; we'll wait here," Ethan shook his head and refused.
"Wait?" Kenneth was taken aback.
Ethan thought to himself, 'My spiritual sense is way stronger than yours, and there's also the terrifying spiritual sense of Angel. No need for you to complicate things.' But he couldn't tell Kenneth that directly.
"Let's rest here. I have my own ways of finding out what's happening on Vast Mountain," Ethan said as he found a clean rock, sat down, and began to meditate.
Seeing this, Kenneth had no choice but to follow suit. Although curious, he didn't dare to ask more questions and found a place to meditate as well.
The ML Guild had the backing of a super sect, which was confirmed by the info Trevor brought. But for the coveted Moonhowl, Ethan had no intention of backing down.
Originally, he planned to test the reaction of the sects behind the ML Guild. It seemed that Vast Mountain would become quite lively, and a great battle was inevitable.
In a bottomless lava pit in Vast Mountain, a small snow-white wolf lay on a rock. Its bright, intelligent eyes were fixed on the rushing lava nearby, and astonishingly, a hint of human-like expression appeared on its face, revealing a sense of longing.
Orla longed for the lava. Almost in a breath, it leaped into the scorching lava without hesitation and disappeared instantly. The underground returned to calm, but soon, the snow-white figure emerged from the lava and returned to the rock.
"Damn humans, I just woke up, and they injured me again. Luckily, this lava helps me heal," Orla muttered, clearly pissed off.
At that moment, Orla suddenly turned its head in a direction, eyes filled with shock and a hint of joy. "It's the master's aura. Could it really be the master, or am I mistaken?"
Orla calmed down quickly after the initial excitement. After hesitating for a while, it finally lay back on the rock, licking its injured front paw, but its gaze stayed fixed in the direction where the aura had appeared.
"Ethan." Dozens of miles away, while Ethan was meditating, Angel's voice suddenly popped into his Sea of Consciousness.
"What news did you get?" Ethan asked, feeling a stir in his heart.
"The Moonhowl wolf clan will show up on a full moon night. If you want to find it, you gotta choose the night when the moon is at its fullest. Otherwise, it won't easily show itself," Angel shared the info right away.
"A full moon night, isn't that tomorrow?" Ethan quickly calculated the next full moon night and asked, "Why does the Moonhowl appear on a full moon night?"
"Because the Moonhowl is a wolf clan, and the full moon night is the best time for them to soak up the moon's nutrients. It's also a crucial point for their evolution and strength boost. No wolf clan spirit beast would miss such a growth opportunity," Angel explained.
"So, the Moonhowl is likely to appear tomorrow night," Ethan mused to himself.
"There's something else I find strange!" Angel suddenly changed the topic.
"What is it?" Ethan asked, curious.
"I just felt a familiar aura, but it was faint and quickly disappeared," Angel explained, sounding a bit frustrated.
"Can you sense it again now?" Ethan asked after the initial surprise.
"No, it was a fleeting, vague feeling, and it wasn't very far, probably within a hundred miles." Angel shook her head.
"Then you might as well search this area and check the situation on the opposite mountain for me," Ethan suggested.
"Alright, I'll take a look around," Angel agreed right away. Ethan calmed himself and patiently waited for Angel's news.
After a long time, Angel shook her head in disappointment. "I can't sense that aura anymore. Either I was mistaken, or the other party is hiding."
"What about the mountain over there? What's the situation now?" Ethan was more concerned about the specific situation on Vast Mountain and asked.
"There are quite a few people on that mountain, mostly ordinary folks who haven't reached the Foundation Establishment Stage, and one person at the Foundation Establishment Stage with strength similar to yours," Angel explained, sounding a bit disinterested.
Ethan frowned upon hearing this. Something about it just didn't feel right.
