Chapter 224 Skyline Center
"So where are we going now?" Sarah asked Ethan, staring at him.
"Since we're starting a new company, we definitely need to choose an office location! We can't use the Miller family or the Harris family's existing sites. Since it's my company, it has to have "Ethan's tag" on it; otherwise, it will lose its meaning!" Ethan said seriously.
"Are you planning to build an Ethan Tower yourself?" Chloe teased with a laugh.
"Not that exaggerated. I've done something similar in Baytown before, but this time, I don't have the time to wait for a building to be constructed! The site has to be ready-made, but it can't be from either of your families!" Ethan explained, shaking his head with a wry smile.
"Aren't you planning to see your lover first?" Sarah remarked as she pouted and huffed.
"What lover?" Ethan questioned, immediately puzzled.
"Still pretending with us? Since Jayden is here, your overseas investment company must be involved, too, right? Didn't your lover come along?" Sarah asked indifferently.
"It's Alice! And she has her legs; if she wants to come to Everglow City, are you going to tie her up?" he replied sarcastically. Ethan didn't expect Sarah to bring it up in front of Chloe and Lyra, making him a bit embarrassed. However, he and Alice were innocent, so there was no need to feel guilty!
"See, I told you Alice must have come along, didn't I? Chloe, you better keep an eye on him!" Sarah immediately clung to Chloe's arm and seriously reminded her.
"What do you mean I should keep an eye on him? Isn't he your boyfriend now? Can't you watch him yourself?" Chloe teased as she covered her mouth and laughed, glancing at Ethan without getting angry.
"That's different! I'm his girlfriend, but you're his wife. I'm worried for you!" Sarah reminded, somewhat annoyed.
"What are you guys talking about?" Lyra, who had been listening in confusion, was clearly bewildered by the relationship between Ethan and them.
"You're still young. Aren't you in your sophomore year? Why aren't you in class?" Sarah asked and pouted.
"It's because of your engagement. I took a few days off, and there aren't many classes anyway. But I have to go back to school tomorrow!" Lyra explained casually.
"Then today, Ethan will take you out. Keep a close eye on him today, and don't let him have a chance to meet that foreign girl alone!" Sarah instructed as she shifted the topic back.
"You are really boring. There's nothing going on between Alice and I. Say whatever you want!" Ethan retorted as he rolled his eyes, knowing that reasoning with women was useless. He didn't bother to explain further and took the car keys Chloe handed him, getting into the car.
Chloe had a car in Everglow City, which she used for daily commuting. However, from now on, it will become Ethan's car. After all, getting around would be inconvenient without a car.
The three of them followed him into the car, and they heard Ethan making a phone call from the driver's seat.
"Send me the address. I'll go check it out now!" Ethan said before hanging up. They didn't hear what he said earlier.
"Where are you planning to go?" Chloe asked curiously.
"Skyline Center, Pinecrest Road!" Ethan smiled as he mentioned the address before starting the car and leaving the Miller family's estate.
"Skyline Center? If I remember correctly, that's the Ashford family's property, right? It is the largest commercial office building of the Ashford family in Everglow City, and it's in the central core area!" Chloe exclaimed and was stunned for a moment before reacting. She didn't understand why Ethan was going to Skyline Center at this time.
"You're not planning to use the Ashford family's office building as the new company's office space, are you?" Sarah asked with eyes widened in anticipation. After spending some time with Ethan, Sarah seemed to understand his style better than anyone else.
"You are smart! To create a sensation, you have to turn what's theirs into ours! Everyone knows Skyline Center is the Ashford family's property. If it becomes our new company's office space, the media impact alone could save us the initial advertising costs!" Ethan replied and nodded affirmatively.
"You have a vivid imagination. How could the Ashford family possibly let you use Skyline Center? They probably want to kill you right now!" Sarah asked incredulously.
"Did you forget that Carlos just returned to the Harris family?" Ethan reminded her with a smile.
"You mean, you want the Ashford family to use Skyline Center as a bargaining chip to make amends with the Harris family?" Sarah remarked as she immediately caught on.
"That's impossible, right? Even if Skyline Center were auctioned off, it would fetch at least 1.5 billion dollars, maybe even more! That area is in the prime commercial district of Everglow City! How could they give up such a huge asset just because of Isolde?" Chloe reminded, furrowing her brows.
She thought, 'Even if the Ashford family has to pay the price to appease the Harris family, it wouldn't necessarily involve giving up Skyline Center.'
"Let's go check out the building first. I haven't seen it yet!" Ethan hinted with a sly smile.
Chloe and Sarah didn't ask further questions. Since Ethan said so, he must have some confidence in his plan. They were also curious to see how Ethan would manage to take Skyline Center from the Ashford family!
Before long, the car stopped in the bustling central business district of Everglow City. Next to the parking spot stood a towering office building about fifty stories high, with the bright red letters "Skyline Center" on top.
"Skyline Center rents out the floors below the 12th to other companies and a large shopping mall. From the 12th floor up, it's the office area for the Ashford family's Zenith Group," Chloe said to Ethan, looking at the entrance of the large mall on the first floor of Skyline Center.
"Don't you love shopping? What's the point of just looking from the outside? Let's go inside and take a look!" Ethan suggested, then laughed and got out of the car.
They locked the car and entered Skyline Center through the mall entrance. As soon as they walked in, Alexander, who had been waiting at the door, approached Ethan. It was clear that he was the one who had just called Ethan.
"Mr. Wilson, the commercial valuation of this building is around three billion dollars. If we want to acquire it, it will likely cost even more! I've already gathered the basic information. It would be more than sufficient as the new company's office space!" Alexander said, handing Ethan a detailed report about the building.
"I won't look at it now. Just give it to Jayden later. Have you checked out the floors above the 12th?" Ethan inquired while he shook his head, more concerned about Zenith Group's situation.
"I tried earlier. Beyond the 12th floor, only their employees or those with appointments are allowed. The management is quite strict. We probably won't be able to go up and take a look right now," Alexander explained somewhat helplessly.
"Alright, you go ahead. I'll take them shopping in the mall first!" Ethan replied. He wasn't surprised or disappointed. He nodded and led the still somewhat bewildered three girls into the mall.
"Ethan, are you really taking us shopping?" Sarah couldn't help but ask as she watched Ethan wander.
