Chapter 403 Alice's Friends
After Ethan caused a scene at Spencer's office, Arnold quickly took action.
He had planned to use someone else for the dirty work. Whether Wade ended up with Spencer or not, he could use the hard drive to negotiate with her.
Arnold knew Spencer well. Compared to Ethan, an unknown threat, he felt more confident.
Worst case, even if Spencer couldn't handle Ethan, he'd at least gauge Ethan's abilities.
But he didn't expect Ethan to defeat Spencer so easily. The office was a mess, and they even claimed there was a fire!
"Has Anna returned?" Arnold asked his subordinates in the dimly lit basement, his face dark.
"Not yet, but she should be back soon," one of them replied nervously.
Just then, the door opened, and Anna walked in, looking grim.
"What happened?" Arnold asked, squinting.
"He tricked me. There's no money in the account!" Anna said through gritted teeth.
Arnold laughed angrily, "I should've known. Thirty million dollars is no small amount. He'd be crazy to use that much to buy you off!"
"What do we do now? Madryd's people are going nuts looking for us. This basement won't hide us for long," Anna said, frustrated. She had hoped to get the money from Ethan's account to find a safe place to hide, but it was all a joke.
"Does anyone know where Ethan is now?" Arnold asked, changing the subject.
"After leaving Spencer's place, his phone signal disappeared," one of his subordinates said helplessly.
"Find out who they are ASAP. Everyone, retreat to the Safe House!" Arnold ordered, feeling frustrated. Luckily, Anna and the agents had seen Ethan and Angela's faces. It was only a matter of time before they found out their identities.
Meanwhile, Ethan was lying on a soft bed, watching Alice apply bright red lipstick at the vanity.
"Do you really have to go?" Ethan asked, sounding helpless.
"Don't you want to meet my friends? One of them is even a princess!" Alice smiled, raising her eyebrows.
"Forget it. I'm not interested in any princess. That prince from before was just so-so," Ethan said with a wry smile.
After their intimate moment, Alice got a call inviting her to a party that evening.
Alice wanted Ethan to come, but he didn't like attending such events, especially in other countries with more rules.
Just as Alice was about to say something, Ethan's phone rang.
Ethan glanced at the number and answered.
"Mr. Wilson, you were right. Someone did hack into the military server. I left a backdoor open for them to search for info on you and Angela. But I've altered your records, so they won't find anything useful for a while," Alexander's voice came through the phone.
"I know I can count on you. Did you find their address?" Ethan's expression shifted slightly before he smiled and asked.
"Yeah, it's 78 Main Street in Norway. They were in the basement, but the address disappeared quickly. They're cautious and must have moved," Alexander explained.
"I'm sure you can track them down!"
Ethan wasn't disappointed. With Alexander on the case, it was only a matter of time. Even if they moved, there were plenty of ways to find them.
Alexander was a top-notch hacker who, at sixteen, breached the Madryd Defense Department's website.
Unless Arnold's group hid in an ancient forest, they couldn't escape Alexander's tracking.
"Give me some time. I'll notify you as soon as I confirm the location," Alexander said before ending the call.
"Got something to take care of?" Alice pouted as Ethan put down his phone and sat up.
"Nope. I'm all yours. Stop pouting!" Ethan teased, pinching her cheek.
"Great! I want you to meet my friends. You'll love them!" Alice excitedly kissed Ethan on the cheek, leaving a big lipstick mark.
"Save the kisses for later. If I meet your friends like this, they'll laugh at me!" Ethan wiped off the lipstick mark with a wry smile.
Half an hour later, Ethan and Alice drove away from Eric's estate.
As night fell, they headed to a club called The Night of Roses in the city center.
"This club is owned by my friend Davis Durham. He's from the Durham family, one of the three major conglomerates in Norway. He's not a core member, but he holds some weight. We were college classmates and became good friends," Alice explained as they got out of the car.
"A good friend?" Ethan raised an eyebrow. Alice didn't have many male friends she thought highly of, but those she did were definitely not ordinary.
"Are you jealous?" Alice laughed coquettishly.
"Depends on whether you give me a reason to be," Ethan chuckled.
At that moment, a group of people hurriedly walked out of the club.
Leading them was a young man, Davis, and a tall blonde woman, Lilia Seymour.
"Davis, Lilia, over here!" Alice waved excitedly.
"Darling, long time no see!" Lilia, who looked about the same age as Alice, wore a black chiffon dress exuding elegance. After a close hug with Alice, she gave her a cheek kiss.
As Lilia approached, Ethan felt a strange tremor from the Sun and Moon Beads in his Sea of Energy, and his face showed a hint of surprise.
"Alice, aren't you going to introduce us to this gentleman?" Davis asked, glancing at Ethan with a warm smile.
Davis was indeed a handsome guy, very gentlemanly, making people feel comfortable. He was truly worthy of being from a prestigious family.
