Chapter57 Tim's Hatred
James snorted and left Grandpa's room with Edwin and the others, leaving only Alan and Sarah in the room.
As the door closed, Ethan solemnly reminded the two remaining people, “I will carefully observe the poison in Old Master Harris’s body next. As long as I can tell his physical condition and the poison’s natures, detoxification will be very fast, but the whole process may take some time. Please be patient and do not disturb me!”
The thick and viscous substance was different from the coolness the bead absorbed earlier, and it would take a relatively long time to convert. Based on the amount of poison in Clarence’s body, Ethan estimated that it would take at least 30 minutes to completely transform. That's why he first sent James, the meddler, out of the room.
“Don't you have to give us a timeframe?” Alan reminded with a frown, dissatisfied.
“About half an hour, but it won't exceed forty minutes at most.” Ethan gave Alan a timeframe.
Upon hearing this, Alan didn't say much.
Ethan then placed his hand on Clarence’s left hand and closed his eyes, resembling an actual doctor.
Sarah found this amusing and carefully observed him. She wanted to see what was so different about him that made Chloe fall head over heels!
After a while, she couldn’t see anything. However, she did feel like Ethan looked like a scammer, especially considering his young age. His serious expression and his youthful face made her want to laugh, but she held it in when she glanced at Alan.
Pretending to examine the patient, Ethan was actually quickly absorbing the toxins in Clarence’s body and converting it.
Although he had mentioned the timeframe in advance, Alan couldn't wait any longer after ten minutes.
“He’s been closing his eyes and not moving. Did he fall asleep? Is this even going to work?”
Sarah actually found this boring as well, but she couldn't let Alan disturb Ethan, so she quickly reminded, “Didn't he say it would take around 40 minutes? Don't be impatient!”
About to approach Ethan, Alan said, “This is the Harris family. How can we let him do whatever he wants? I’m really suspicious now. This doesn't look like saving someone. He’s really just trying to fool me, huh? No way, I have to clarify first!”
Ethan felt annoyed, realizing that this Alan wasn't much better than his son. Helpless, she was ready to stop the process.
“Wait, look!” she quickly grabbed Alan, gesturing for him to look at Clarence.
“What am I looking at?” Alan was completely confused as he had a bewildered look, not knowing what was happening.
“Look at Grandpa's complexion!” Sarah reminded him again.
Only then did he notice that Clarence’s complexion had indeed improved significantly. His originally lifeless and dark grey face gradually dissipated, a healthy flush returning to it.
This scene left them astonished and uncertain. Was Clarence’s complexion improving because of Ethan? However, Ethan didn’t seem to have done anything?
However, Sarah failed to notice that, in addition to his surprise, her uncle also had a hint of fear and unease.
With things unfolding this way, Alan seemed hesitant to make any sudden moves in front of Sarah. He paced back and forth with a gloomy expression, deep in thought about who knows what.
Soon, Ethan finally breathed a sigh of relief and continued to quickly convert the poison in Clarence’s body.
Meanwhile, in the hospital’s intensive care unit, Tim was covered in bandages and a cast as he sat in a wheelchair, looking utterly miserable.
Mike was sitting across from him, talking on the phone with Brady.
“That's right, the girl who saved Ethan and the old man is most likely from the Millers!”
Upon hearing this, Brady was shocked. “When did Ethan get in touch with the Millers? Have you investigated the girl's identity?”
“We're still investigating. We should have a response from Houston soon. However, what should I do if the Miller family makes another move?” Mike asked with concern.
“They wouldn’t risk meddling with us. According to what you've said, it's most likely the girl's personal choice. I never thought Ethan would be good at winning women over!” Brady seemed to see through everything, speaking bluntly.
“Then should we proceed with the operation?” Mike asked, his mind racing.
Brady's tone was unquestionable. “Of course! The girl won't be by Ethan's side forever. Without touching the Miller family’s people directly, find a way to eliminate Ethan. That shouldn't be difficult for you!”
“Understood! Once Ethan's whereabouts are confirmed, I'll strike immediately. He won't have such good luck this time!” Mike said with a murderous look as he ended the call.
Suddenly, Tim glanced at Mike with resentful eyes.
“If you want to kill Ethan, take me with you! To quell this hatred I have, I want to see him die with my own eyes!”
“You shouldn't go out in your current situation, Young Master!”
Upon hearing this, Mike felt a headache. This useless guy always brought trouble upon himself!
‘If it weren't for him impatiently confronting Ethan without waiting for me, how could he have ended up like this?’
Tim gritted his teeth and angrily scolded, “Who is the master here? I told you to take me with you, so you should do as I say! That beast, Ethan, has turned me into this state. I can't even sleep without seeing him dead! I want to watch as you break every bone in his body before he dies!”
Seeing the boundless anger and murderous intent in Tim's eyes, Mike knew that if he didn't follow as he said, he would definitely be punished in the future. Thus, he reluctantly agreed.
Fortunately, dealing with Ethan would be easy. Tim being around would only add in just a bit more trouble.
At the Harris family's villa, Chloe was waiting outside Grandpa Harris's room, feeling like Ethan was taking forever.
She had no idea what was happening inside, so she couldn’t help but be worried for him! If he caused any trouble, she might not be able to handle it, not to mention Grandpa Harris’s safety!
“It's almost been an hour, what is that guy doing in there? I can’t anymore, I need to go in and check!” James grew impatient, about to storm into the room.
Chloe's expression changed as she quickly blocking James and reminded, “No! Ethan said that nobody can disturb him, especially with Sarah and your dad inside. Even if you don't trust Sarah, aren't you worried about your dad?”
James threatened her arrogantly, “I’m warning you to get out of my way, Chloe. Don't forget that this is the Harris family’s residence, not the Miller family’s! Whatever I want to do is none of your business!”
“If you barge in like this and something goes wrong, you’ll be responsible!”
Chloe stood her ground, retorting without backing down. She was determined not to let James disturb Ethan. Maybe this was why Ethan didn't want her in the room; she had to make sure James didn’t cause any trouble!
