Chapter 624 Ethan's Survival Tactics
In a flash, Orla's body ballooned to the size of an elephant. She shot a fierce glare at Kirk, and as the black threads zoomed toward her, she swiped at them with a powerful claw.
The black thread, looking all flimsy, bent under Orla's swipe but didn't snap. Instead, it split into dozens of threads, forming a net that wrapped around Orla's massive frame.
"I told you, you’re out of options. Just give up already," Kirk said, sounding almost bored.
"Dream on. I’d rather die than bow down to a loser like you!" Orla snapped back. Even though the black threads had her all tangled up, she stood her ground.
"That's not your call!" Kirk chuckled. With a flick of his finger, the net tightened, squeezing Orla's huge body.
Despite her best efforts, Orla was slowly dragged toward Kirk. She was lifted off the ground, shrinking as she got closer to him.
'Master, where are you? If you don't show up, I'm really gonna get caught by this loser!' Orla thought, panic rising. She wouldn't have come out of hiding if it weren't for the full moon and that familiar aura. But now, that aura was gone, like it had vanished into thin air!
"Stop!" A sharp voice cut through the air. A young figure appeared next to Orla, throwing a punch at the net. Ethan hit the net with all his might, but it didn't budge, making his heart sink.
"Sun and Moon Beads? Who are you?" Kirk asked, eyeing the spinning beads in front of Ethan.
"None of your business!" Ethan shot back, surprised that Kirk recognized the beads so quickly. Kirk's strength was way beyond what Ethan had expected. He had no idea how this fight would end, but things weren't looking good.
"Let me guess, you're Ethan Wilson, right?" Kirk laughed.
"Yeah, so what?" Ethan replied coldly, his identity now out in the open.
"Feisty, aren't you? Hand over the Sacred Wood, and maybe I'll let you live," Kirk said, a smile playing on his lips.
"You wish!" Ethan snorted, summoning the Requiem Tower from his Sea of Qi.
"You've got a defensive spiritual artifact?" Kirk's voice shook with surprise as he saw the Requiem Tower. Clearly, Kirk knew his stuff, recognizing it as a spiritual artifact and not just some random magical tool.
"You know your stuff!" Ethan's heart sank, but he kept his cool, expanding the Requiem Tower to shield Orla.
In a flash, the Requiem Tower's power shattered the weird black threads, wrapping around Orla and keeping her safe.
"A beginner with two spiritual artifacts? Gotta say, you surprised me!" Kirk's tone was calm, almost like he didn't care that Ethan had saved Orla. Maybe he thought he had enough tricks up his sleeve to crush Ethan, and Ethan was just wasting his time.
"Scared, are we?" Ethan shot back.
"Scared? Even if you have two spiritual weapons, so what? You’re just at the early stages of the master level. Do you really think you can take me on?" Kirk laughed, reaching out toward Ethan. Out of nowhere, a huge, pitch-black hand appeared, heading straight for Ethan.Ethan's face went pale, and he quickly unleashed his ultimate move, hitting out with eighteen consecutive palms. But this time, Ethan couldn't break Kirk's palm like he did with Raymond. Even though Kirk's palm showed some cracks, it still came down on him.
Ethan was sent flying, coughing up a mouthful of blood in mid-air. He was shocked. He hadn't expected Kirk to be stronger than Raymond. If his palms hadn't absorbed most of the impact, he might've been done for!
"Impressive technique, to withstand that. I underestimated you!" Kirk was surprised Ethan could take his hit, exclaiming in astonishment.
"There’s a lot you don’t know. You're not all that!" Ethan gritted his teeth, fighting through the pain in his chest.
"Alright, if one palm isn't enough, how about two?" Kirk smiled, then struck out with two consecutive palms.
Ethan's face changed, and he quickly summoned the Grail to shield himself. With two loud bangs, the palms hit the Grail, causing ripples but ultimately being blocked.
Ethan panted heavily. The Grail had blocked the attack, but it had drained a third of his spiritual power!
"What? Another defensive artifact?" Kirk was starting to feel uneasy. Ethan kept neutralizing his attacks, making him look bad.
"Didn't see that coming, did you?" Ethan sneered. He couldn't let Kirk see any sign of weakness.
Even though using the Grail drained a lot of his spiritual power, Ethan had no other choice. If things got worse, he could call on Francis. He was pretty sure Francis could take Kirk down.
But even with his last resort, Ethan felt uncertain. Kirk's overwhelming strength was so formidable that it made him lose confidence in his most reliable trump card.
