Chapter 489 Face-to-Face Provocation
Early in the morning, the Wilson family was already bustling with activity.
In the square, aside from the guards responsible for protecting the Wilson family, almost everyone present at the Wilson Villa was there.
The head of the family succession ceremony had to be conducted in the presence of all members of the Wilson family.
Everyone was patiently waiting for the most important moment for the Wilson family. However, each person harbored different thoughts and emotions. Some were happy, while others were worried. Perhaps there were more people worried than happy.
"Chloe and the others aren't part of the Wilson family, so should we arrange for them to be among the guests? After all, the Miller family and the Ashford family will be arriving soon." Beverly saw Ethan leading Chloe and the others towards the ancestral hall and quickly went up to discuss with Ethan.
"No need. They are my wives. Who dares to say they aren't part of the Wilson family?" Ethan frowned, clearly displeased with Beverly's suggestion.
"That's not what I meant. After all, they won't be recognized by the family members." Beverly looked conflicted, knowing that Ethan would definitely argue with her on this point.
"I don't need to hide anything. Even if everyone knows, so what? I brought them back this time to announce their identities to everyone. Arrange for them to sit next to my mom. I want to see who dares to cause trouble," Ethan said coldly.
"Fine, you're the head of the Wilson family. Whatever you say goes," Beverly said with a helpless smile, nodding in agreement.
"The Miller family of Everglow City has arrived!"
"The Harris family of Everglow City has arrived!"
Suddenly, two loud announcements reverberated across one side of the square. Merrick and Clarence led the Miller family and the Harris family into the square, walking towards Ethan and the others.
"Ethan, I should call you the head of the Wilson family now. Congratulations!" Clarence laughed heartily upon seeing Ethan.
"Congratulations to the head of the Wilson family!" Munro followed suit, offering his congratulations.
"Thank you for coming. There's no need for such formalities between us. Chloe and Sarah would scold me later," Ethan said, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"It's necessary. Today is important to you, and everything must follow the rules. Privately, I consider you my son-in-law, but from the Wilson family's standpoint, you are the head of the Wilson family," Munro patted Ethan on the shoulder, reminding him seriously.
Ethan could only shake his head and smile wryly, quickly asking Chloe and Sarah to accompany the Miller family and the Harris family to the viewing area.
"The Ashford family of Everglow City has arrived!"
Just as the Miller family and the Harris family had finished making their entrance, the Ashford family arrived. Most of the Wilson family members were surprised when they saw Dorian.
"Congratulations," Dorian said with a smile.
What was even more surprising was that only five people from the Ashford family came. Besides Dorian, there were only four guard-like warriors, and none of the important family members, not even Kenny, were present.
"Dorian, it's been a while. I didn't expect you to come so casually!" Ethan looked at Dorian and his group, showing a hint of helplessness.
"Don't be surprised. We both know what's going on." Dorian laughed nonchalantly.
Ethan leaned closer to Dorian and whispered, "I just wanted you to join the fun, not to fight. No need to be so cautious. Afraid Kenny won't make it back if you bring him?"
"You know Kenny is a bit sensitive. Bringing him might upset him," Dorian explained somewhat awkwardly.
Ethan was momentarily stunned but then understood Kenny might indeed overthink things.
"Forget I said anything. Go rest in the viewing area. The Miller family and the Harris family are there. You can chat with them." Ethan invited Dorian to the viewing area and then followed Beverly inside.
With the Ashford family, the Harris family, and the Miller family all present, Ethan didn't plan to stay in the square for long. He was the main character today and had to participate in the succession ceremony.
After changing into a new outfit, Ethan approached Brady and said calmly, "Brady, you still have time to regret it now!"
"I never regret my decisions. You should know, I've always wanted you to be the head of the family. I made you the heir of the Wilson family, but you chose to give it up," Brady frowned and reminded him seriously.
"I almost forgot. I'm curious, you clearly don't like me, so why make me the heir and even the head of the family today?" Ethan asked curiously.
"Do you think I have ulterior motives in making you the head of the family?" Brady responded with a question.
"Only you would know! But it seems I have no choice but to be the head of the family. Just hope you can handle it. If I become the head, I might just anger you to death," Ethan hinted with a smile.
"If you have the ability to anger me to death, then so be it. The Wilson family will be yours!" Brady laughed indifferently.
"Maybe. Since you value me so much, I prepared a surprise for you. I think you'll like it," Ethan said with a smile and walked towards the viewing area.
As Brady watched Ethan's departing figure, his face suddenly darkened.
"Brady, what is he up to now? Dorian only brought four guards. Anyone would think he's here to cause trouble," Herman came up behind Brady, reminding him with some unease.
"I'm not afraid of him coming openly, just worried about his hidden moves." Brady shook his hea .
If Dorian heard Herman's words, he would probably feel wronged.
