Chapter 409 Herong's Probe
No one saw Ethan betting with Herong coming!
Even Herong was caught off guard. His eyes lit up, and before he could say anything, he shouted, "Alright! If you can't cure the King, I'll deal with you however I want!"
"I'm trustworthy! But if I do cure the King, what will you do?" Ethan nodded and stared at Herong.
"Me?" Herong was stunned.
"Of course. A bet has to be fair. If you lose, you pay up too!" Alice chimed in.
"Fine, what do you want?" Herong hesitated.
"It's simple. If you lose, give up your engagement to Lilia and never come back to the palace!" Ethan laid out his terms.
If Ethan won, Herong wouldn't marry Lilia anyway. This was just to avoid future issues.
"Alright! I agree. Let's see how you cure the King!" Herong stared at Ethan for over ten seconds before agreeing.
"I'll make you lose big time! Your Majesty, let's move somewhere more convenient, like your bedroom," Ethan chuckled and turned to Ryan.
"No problem, let's go to my bedroom. Just you and Lilia," Ryan instructed calmly.
"Wait for me outside; I'll be out soon!" Ethan told Alice before following Ryan and Lilia into a side hall.
Herong stood by the window, glancing at Alice while thinking about what to do if Ethan succeeded. Should he really give up his engagement to Lilia?
Alice noticed Herong's gaze, frowned, and walked into the side hall. She sat on a large sofa, keeping her distance from Herong but within sight of the guards.
Herong saw this, anger flashing in his eyes, but he quickly looked out the window again.
Just then, Herong's phone rang.
"What's up?" Herong answered, his tone low.
"Mr. Winston, we've got a tough opponent and might need your help!" Arnold's voice came through, surprised Herong answered, and his tone became excited.
"Someone you can't handle must be serious," Herong raised an eyebrow.
"That's right. We think he's a Half-Step Grandmaster from Vexa!" Arnold quickly explained.
"A Half-Step Grandmaster from Vexa? What's his name?" Herong immediately thought of Ethan.
"Ethan, and there's a woman with him named Angela, also from Vexa!" Arnold reported.
"It really is him!" Herong's eyes widened. He wondered how Ethan got involved with Arnold. And wasn't the woman with Ethan supposed to be Alice? Who's this Angela?
"Mr. Winston, do you know him?" Arnold was now the surprised one.
"We just met. He's in the palace with me right now!" Herong squinted and hummed.
"What? That guy's at the palace?" Arnold was shocked.
"Tell me everything about your dealings with him, and I'll know how to handle it!" Herong demanded.
Arnold explained his mission, the possible link between Ethan and Wade, and everything that had happened.
"Mr. Winston, please help us get rid of Ethan! And if possible, find Wade," Arnold pleaded.
"I wasn't sure before, but now there's no way I'm letting him off! Don't worry, I've got this. I'll be in touch." Herong said and hung up before Arnold could respond.
Herong didn't expect such a connection with Ethan. After processing what Arnold told him, he quietly walked towards Alice.
"In such a big place, you had to sit opposite me. Isn't that annoying?" Alice didn't expect Herong to follow her and sit across from her. She frowned.
"No need to be so hostile. I mean no harm," Herong smiled, trying to appear friendly.
"If you're bored, chat with a guard. I don't want to talk to you!" Alice had no good feelings towards Herong and wasn't about to start now.
"What's your relationship with Ethan?" Herong asked, still smiling.
"None of your business!" Alice snapped and walked towards the window to get away from him.
"It might not be my business, but I know Ethan's with some other woman from Vexa. Don't you care?" Herong suddenly asked loudly.
Alice stopped and turned to look at him, surprised.
"Are you investigating him?" Alice frowned.
"I just heard some news. Seems he came to Norway with another woman from Vexa!" Herong's lips curled into a smile, seeing her reaction.
