Chapter 250 The Advisor
Upon hearing this, Remington was so excited that he jumped up from the sofa.
"You really felt the energy center of the human body?" Bennit quickly asked.
"I felt it. There is indeed a sensation in my lower abdomen, which should be the location of the energy-gathering point," Lysander confirmed with a nod.
Ethan thought, 'Feeling the energy gathering point and sensing the super energy means that the human body's energy center has been formed. This is basic knowledge for warriors. Since Lysander said so, it must be true!'
"It's not enough that you felt it yourself; Bennit and Remington probably can't understand it. Do you remember the route I guided the super energy through your body just now?" Ethan asked.
"Roughly, but I couldn't remember all of it," Lysander said somewhat with embarrassment.
"Then I'll do it again. You need to pay close attention," Ethan said, and then he guided the super energy through Lysander's body once more.
After three full rounds, although the super energy went through many meridians, the route followed certain rules and could be remembered quickly.
"How about now?" Ethan asked again.
"I can't describe it, but I should be able to control it to go through my body once," Lysander said, clenching his fists with a sense of eagerness.
"Alright, I'll find a prop for you to test on," Ethan said as he looked around the living room. Finally he picked up a solid wooden chair and placed it in front of Remington.
"Ethan, what are you doing?" Remington asked curiously.
"Of course, I'm going to show you Lysander's current strength!" Ethan said with a mysterious smile, then turned to Lysander and said, "In a moment, follow the method I taught you to circulate the super energy, and then strike the surface of this chair with your palm. Remember, don't use brute force; instead, release the super energy through your palm!"
"Let me give it a try!" Lysander took a deep breath, calmed himself for a few seconds, and then began his first test.
Although the circulation of super energy was complicated, it happened almost instantaneously. Lysander suddenly struck the two-inch-thick solid wood chair with his palm, producing a crisp sound, but nothing else happened.
"Why is nothing happening?" Bennit and Remington asked, full of disappointment.
"I must have been too hasty. I think I made a mistake in one of the meridians. Let me try again," Lysander said, scratching his head awkwardly. Encouraged by Ethan's gaze, he began his second attempt.
This time, the force of Lysander's palm strike was much lighter. It was as if he were gently pressing on the chair's surface, barely making any sound.
The chair remained unchanged as if Lysander's palm strike was merely tickling it.
"Why is it still not working?" Bennit frowned, starting to doubt.
"Who said it didn't work? Lysander, take your hand off the chair. Look closely!" Ethan said with a smile, reminding the three.
Lysander, who hadn't figured out what was going on, also thought he had failed. But based on Ethan's words, could it be that he had succeeded?
It wasn't until Lysander removed his hand from the chair's surface that the three of them noticed that Lysander's seemingly powerless palm strike had left a clear handprint on the chair!
The deepest part of the indentation was 0.4 inch, but even so, the effect was enough to shock Bennit and Remington!
"Did I really make this?" Lysander looked at his palm in disbelief, then at the handprint. He fel dizzy for a while.
"If it wasn't you, then who else? Of course, you did it using my super energy," Ethan said with a smile.
"Incredible. I can't believe you actually have this ability. Does this mean Lysander will become a warrior in the future?" Remington asked, his face full of excitement.
"You're thinking too optimistically. The super energy I left in Lysander's body isn't much, but it's enough for him to use a few times. It will completely dissipate by tonight because it's not super energy he cultivated himself. External super energy can't be stored for long." Ethan mercilessly shattered Remington's beautiful fantasy.
"So that's how it is!" Remington said, somewhat disappointed.
"Regardless, you do have the special skill to help warriors develop the energy center of the human body. Now I know how to report to the military," Bennit said and finally breathed a sigh of relief. Although he had previously shown distrust towards Ethan, he was actually a cautious general seeking the truth.
Naturally, he hoped everything Ethan said was true.
"I don't care how you report to the military, but I have one request. Don't treat me like a machine. After all, there are a few million soldiers in the army, and I can't turn every single one of them into a warrior. It's impossible," Ethan reminded seriously.
"I'll discuss forming a special troop and hiring you as a special advisor with the military. Your only responsibility will be to turn all the members of this unit into warriors," Bennit said after a moment of contemplation.
"What scale of this troop will be?" Ethan asked, frowning.
"A few hundred people, but the exact number will depend on the military's arrangements. A few hundred is the minimum. There might be more during the initial selection. We're not asking you to turn all these people into warriors immediately, but to help them grow as quickly as possible over time," Bennit said. He was seriously discussing the matter with Ethan for the first time.
"Bennit is right, and you shouldn't complain about the military treating you like a machine. Just having the title of a special advisor to the military will bring you many unexpected benefits. You should be happy." Remington nodded in agreement.
"So, I'm the one getting the better deal," Ethan said, at a loss whether to cry or to laugh.
"It's not about who gets the better deal. After all, you're part of the country, and you must contribute to the military. More precisely, it's a win-win situation," Remington said righteously.
"Whatever you say is always right. But when I came here, I was telling Lysander that having a military identity would make things much easier for me. I didn't expect it to come true now!" Ethan joked.
"It's too early to be happy. Wait until the military officially appoints you. Also, not everyone will support this, so be prepared," Bennit said, unable to resist dampening Ethan's spirits.
"Really? They won't even give me an honorary title? You're too stingy!" Ethan said, his eyes widening in surprise.
"You're not someone who suffers losses. Do you think I'd take advantage of you? Bennit's concerns are valid. He's suggesting you keep a low profile. Given your situation, even if you get the title, it's better to keep it confidential for now. It might save your life at a critical moment," Remington said and gave Ethan a meaningful look.
"You always know how to put things in a way that makes sense. Now I feel reassured," Ethan said with a laugh.
"Go back and wait for the news. By the way, isn't it time to release Kenny from the Ashford family?" Bennit asked Ethan.
"Of course, he'll be released. But since he has been captured, there's no rush. Release him three days from now. I've already told Dorian to wait for three days, so don't make me break my word!" Ethan quickly shook his head.
Bennit rolled his eyes and couldn't be bothered to respond to him.
