Chapter 370 Making a Deal
Gino looked at Dorian and asked, "Why didn't you bring them?"
"No need. Kenny's at home with Caspar. After you told her the truth, she ran back to Rex for answers. She won't see you until she gets them," Dorian explained.
"I told you to keep an eye on her. Make sure she doesn't do anything rash," Gino advised.
"Don't worry. She's not just your sister; she's my wife and Kenny's mom," Dorian assured him.
As they talked, Ethan showed up at Gino's office. He was a regular now, and the staff let him in without a fuss.
"Why are you alone?" Ethan asked Dorian.
"They can't come now. Isn't one of me enough?" Dorian said, glancing at Gino.
"I forgot I saw them this afternoon. Never mind, just you is fine," Ethan said, nodding at Gino.
"You asked me to come, so here I am. I know I imprisoned your mom for years, and that can't be easily forgiven. Tell me how to make it up to you," Dorian said, looking at Ethan.
"You're a master, and I'm just a half-step grandmaster. Killing me would be easy for you, so why the formality?" Ethan asked, smiling.
"Are you testing me?" Dorian frowned.
As Ethan said, he could sense Ethan was at the Half-Step Grandmaster level. In a one-on-one fight, he could easily kill Ethan. But is it really that simple?
Not to mention Ethan had powerful treasures like the Sun and Moon Beads. Even if he killed Ethan, how would he face Francis and Phoenix's wrath? The whole Ashford family wouldn't be enough to compensate for Ethan's death.
"Just kidding. I'm surprised you came. I was really angry and wanted to kill you myself," Ethan laughed, then looked at Gino. "But two people pleaded for you, so I had to listen. Consider yourself lucky."
"Two people pleaded for me?" Dorian was surprised. Did Ethan mean to let him go?
"One is right in front of you, and you probably already know," Ethan smiled.
Dorian looked at Gino, surprised he would speak on his behalf. Gino frowned, confused why Ethan would say that and give him such a big favor.
"And the other person..."
"My mom!" Ethan interrupted Dorian's question.
"Jessie? Why would she plead for me? Shouldn't she hate me the most?" Dorian was genuinely surprised. He never expected Jessie to be so generous!
He thought, 'Aren't women supposed to be petty and vengeful? At least with Caspar, that would never happen!'
"Remember, the person who should hate you the most is me! But my mom told me to think about whether someone deserves a chance to make up for their mistakes before killing them. Be grateful you only imprisoned her and didn't do worse. Otherwise, you'd be dead already," Ethan said, shaking his head.
"You want me to make amends?" Dorian frowned.
"In half a month, I'll inherit the Wilson family head position. Brady's already agreed," Ethan changed the subject.
"Brady's willing to hand it over to you? He must be desperate," Dorian said, starting to understand why Ethan wanted to let him go.
"But he won't give in easily. Even if he temporarily compromises, it's just a facade. I don't trust him. Most of the Wilson family, except for a few close to me, are people he's cultivated. Do you think I can hold onto the position?" Ethan smiled.
"If you get the Shadow Gang's support, you might contend with Brady," Dorian said.
"But it isn't enough!" Another figure appeared at the door—it was Elmer.
"Are you following me?" Ethan frowned.
"You misunderstand. I'm protecting you. I promised Jessie, and I have to keep my word," Elmer laughed.
"What did you mean by what you just said?" Ethan asked.
"Even though I'm a master of the Shadow Gang, most members were cultivated by Brady. You still underestimate him," Elmer reminded calmly.
"Why don't you admit you're just useless?" Ethan snorted.
Elmer didn't get angry; he wisely kept quiet.
"So, is your reason for sparing me related to this?" Dorian asked.
"Yes, we can make a deal. Once it's done, everything from before will be written off. I won't trouble you again," Ethan nodded.
"What do you want me to do? The Wilson family decides who will be the head. Even though I'm the head of the Ashford family, I have no say in your Wilson family," Dorian reminded, frowning.
"I don't need you to do anything but to take a stance! One might not be enough, but what if the heads of the Miller family, the Harris family, and the Ashford family all take a stance?" Ethan asked with a smile.
"You want us to show our support for you when you take over as the head of the family?" Dorian looked surprised. He didn't expect Ethan to come up with such a way to break the deadlock.
Indeed, if it were just him, the Wilson family wouldn't care, and Brady wouldn't take it seriously. But if Carlos and Percival also showed their support, the Wilson family would have to take it seriously.
With the other three of the four families all stood by Ethan, the Wilson family would have to consider the reactions of the other three, even if they didn't recognize Ethan as the head.
"Rather than support, it's more like a direct threat. In my words, if it's not my Wilson family, then what's the point of keeping it?" Ethan's smile disappeared, replaced by a mocking sneer.
