Chapter23 Immediate Bankruptcy
“I gave you many chances, but you didn't know how to cherish them. It’s impossible now.”
After giving Sharon a solid shove, Ethan turned to face Jayden and asked, "Jayden, what will happen to the Thomas family after they go bankrupt?"
“The bank will seize all significant assets belonging to the Thomas family because they are currently insolvent. They would have to keep paying back the bank's debts in addition to being made homeless,” Jayden reported right away.
“Perfect!”
Ethan nodded in satisfaction, smirking as he continued coldly, "Previously, the Thomas family thought highly of themselves and looked down on me, humiliating me. Now, I’ll give them the same humiliation they gave me.”
He then turned to Andrew, who was cowering behind others and trembling. Ever since he discovered Ethan's true identity, he had been terrified. As the Johnson family’s young master, he could move freely in Novaria.
However, he knew very well that he meant nothing in front of Ethan.
Ethan really wanted to ruin him now, and the Johnson family didn't dare to utter a word.
Before, when he saw Ethan confronting the Thomas family, he had been praying that he would forget about this.
However, as soon as their affairs were settled, Ethan immediately came looking for him.
“Mr. Wilson, you’re a really kind person, right? Please, spare me this time. I promise...”
Without saying another word, Andrew directly knelt to the ground as he continuously bowed and begged for mercy. He was still young and didn't want to become worthless.
Without saying anything, Ethan kicked Andrew to the ground with a cold and severe expression, throwing four consecutive kicks.
Andrew passed out from the pain, his hands and feet totally broken.
Although the Thomas family was somewhat startled by Ethan's firm act in ruining Andrew, they didn't have any other reaction and continued pleading with him to spare them.
Although they couldn't be considered as distinguished, with their development in recent years, they could be considered a powerful family and lived a prosperous life.
Now, to make them lose everything and end up on the streets, they would never be able to accept it.
After Ethan disposed of Andrew, he completely disregarded the Thomas family and left without a word.
“The Thomas family... is finished...” Uncle Thomas was now completely desperate, his legs giving in as he sat directly on the ground.
The other members of the Thomas family looked as though their souls had been sucked out; some were weeping silently while others were sighing with anguish.
Only Sharon watched Ethan's figure, with an icy gaze resembling a venomous snake.
“Ethan, wait. I need to talk to you,” Beverly chased after Ethan from behind as he came out of the room.
“I have nothing to discuss with you,” he said without even turning his head, already making it clear to Beverly the last time they spoke.
“Are you really planning to reject the family’s decision of making you the heir? Have you considered the consequences?”
"Did they ever think that when they first banished me back then? I’m not the Wilson family’s dog; they can’t push and pull me around as they please," Ethan retorted, sneering.
“Ethan, I hope you can always be this stubborn!” Beverly said angrily.
Ethan paid her no attention and left directly.
As he walked out of the hotel, he suddenly felt a sense of relief as he looked at the busy street ahead.
For the past few years, he had been living for others. Now, thinking about it, he found it somewhat ridiculous.
From now on, he would live for himself.
At that moment, his phone in his pocket vibrated. It was a call from Chloe.
"Finally, you picked up the phone. Is eating with me really so hard for you? We discussed it yesterday, and despite my repeated calls, you didn't even return them!” Chloe was dissatisfied from the moment the call connected.
“Sorry, something came up and I didn't hear you calling,” Ethan apologized.
He noticed the phone was vibrating just now, but he didn't have time to answer. He didn't expect it to be Chloe calling.
“Do you realize how long I've been waiting to eat with you? Do you really believe that saying you have something else will suffice?” Chloe expressed mild displeasure.
Initially, Ethan didn't feel like going out to eat with her, but her words made him feel a little guilty, so he said, “How about I treat you to a meal?”
"I won't hold it against you this time; you've helped me previously, so forget it. I've already made a reservation at a good restaurant; should I meet you there or pick you up?”
“I'll meet you there.”
Ethan didn't want to trouble Chloe, so he hung up the phone after confirming the address.
He took a taxi. When he arrived, he saw Chloe waiting for him at the entrance.
“Sunrise Restaurant?”
He was momentarily taken aback when he saw the restaurant's name.
“Don't let the fact that it's a restaurant make you overlook it. This is one of Novaria’s few fine-dining establishments. This place has better-tasting, more pricey food than some five-star hotels! Normally, I can't bear to visit this place,” Chloe explained with seriousness.
“I know.”
Ethan nodded. Sunrise Restaurant was a high-end chain restaurant under Cloud Group, his family's restaurant. How could he not know about it?
He just hadn't been here before because he married into the Thomas family.
“Let's go. I finally managed to book a seat. If we're late, someone might snatch it from us!”
Chloe said and quickly pulled Ethan into the restaurant.
The restaurant’s interior was luxurious and elegant, exuding a sense of extravagance.
After presenting their reservation number, Chloe and Ethan were led to a table by a glass wall where they could enjoy the view outside.
“What kind of food are you craving? Don't hesitate to choose whatever you want!”
She handed the menu to him and said confidently.
“Aren't you usually reluctant to eat here? Won't it hurt you if I eat whatever I want?” Ethan laughed.
“You saved me before. If I hesitate in paying your meal, wouldn't that be rude?” Chloe revealed her bright white teeth and smiled mysteriously.
“In addition, you seem like my lucky star. Not only did you save me yesterday, but I also unexpectedly signed a large deal! I won't think twice about you ordering the priciest dishes!” Yesterday, she and Gavin had been talking business when that occurrence happened.
She thought the collaboration would definitely fail. However, Gavin unexpected apologized to her and even signed a bigger contract!
He admitted that his people had acted out of line and offended her, and the new contract served as an apology!
This made Chloe both surprised and delighted. She figured it was probably because Gavin didn't want the situation to escalate and tarnish his reputation, so she didn't suspect Ethan's involvement.
But no matter how Ethan played a part in it, as soon as the contract was settled, she immediately wanted to treat him to a meal.
“Is that so? Then I won't hold back.”
Wilson smiled at her words, his eyes subtly shifting as if he knew the reason behind it. Despite that, it seemed that Chloe was unaware of the specifics, and he didn't mention them in details, either.
