Chapter 594 Ladies Guild
Watching the off-road vehicle vanish into the distance, Ethan couldn't help but chuckle. He thought, 'This fiery woman is something else. What's she doing heading to Vast Mountain?'
Without overthinking it, Ethan set off for Vast Mountain again, this time not holding back on speed. He was taking his time to check out the local scene and see what was going on around there.
Even though he didn't find any other clues, running into Bonnie might be his only lead for now. According to Brian, the ML Guild was hidden in a secret realm, but it was pretty small, just enough for a sect's base.
To get into the ML Guild, one had to find the right entrance and get through the defensive Magic Circle to open the passage to the secret realm.
Ethan wasn't here to go on a rampage; he wanted to take down the sect using other methods, so he couldn't be too flashy at the start. And Bonnie's fiery attitude made him think his chance might have come.
A bit later, Ethan showed up at the foot of Vast Mountain. Hidden in the dense forest, he saw Bonnie's white off-road vehicle getting closer.
Just then, two Half-Step Grandmaster auras quickly descended from the top of Vast Mountain.
Ethan quickly hid his aura and watched carefully. Not long after, when the white off-road vehicle reached the foot of the mountain, two figures appeared in front of the car.
"Who goes there?" one of the guys who came down from the mountain shouted, they drawing their long knives and looking all serious.
"I'm Bonnie Peterson. Even the ML Guild folks dare to block my way?" Bonnie jumped out of the car, pulled a long whip from her waist, and looked ready to throw down at any moment. Facing two opponents, Bonnie didn't seem scared at all, clearly confident in herself.
"Are you from the Ladies Guild?" The two young men from the ML Guild looked even more surprised after hearing Bonnie's name.
"At least you know something. If you know what's good for you, release my people right now, or don't blame me for flattening the ML Guild's gate," Bonnie said arrogantly, not holding back.
"So what if you're Bonnie from the Ladies Guild? The ML Guild isn't a place where you can act all high and mighty. Besides, this area is sealed off by us. Anyone who dares to trespass on Vast Mountain won't be coming back," one of the young men snorted, clearly not giving Bonnie any respect after the initial surprise.
"I can stay out, but you must release my people." Bonnie frowned, looking a bit hesitant. It was clear that although Bonnie was hot-tempered, she wasn't dumb. She wouldn't dare to storm the ML Guild as just a Half-Step Grandmaster.
"Stop making a scene. We haven't captured anyone from the Ladies Guild. But we have caught quite a few ordinary folks recently. You don't mean to say some of these ordinary people are yours, do you?" The young man refused without hesitation.
"You guys took my sister, Margare Peterson. Don't even try to deny it; she sent me a video before she was grabbed," Bonnie said, pulling out her phone. The screen showed a video of a girl around eighteen being forcibly taken away.
The two young men exchanged glances, and Fabio Harrison said, "There must be some misunderstanding. I'm curious, why is your sister an ordinary person hanging out with those tourists?"
"What do you mean by that? I come from an ordinary family. Margare is just a regular girl. She's still in college and came here with friends for fun. Anyway, release her immediately," Bonnie raised her eyebrows and warned sternly.
"We can't make that call. We need to report to our elder. Wait here; I'll be back soon," Fabio said to Bonnie and then turned to head back up the mountain. The other guy still held his long knife, keeping a close watch on Bonnie.
Ethan had an idea. He glanced at Bonnie and then at Fabio heading up the mountain, and immediately followed him.
In the developed area of Vast Mountain, there were plenty of spots for tourists to rest and play. Ethan followed Fabio up the mountain, slipping past several hidden sentries without being noticed.
Most of the guards were just regular martial artists, led by at most two Half-Step Grandmasters, none of whom could sense Ethan's presence.
Ethan had already scoped out the area. There was only one relatively strong aura on the mountain, a master-level expert, but weaker than Seth, probably a mid-level master. As long as he was careful, the other guy wouldn't detect him.
Ethan followed Fabio to a courtyard near the top of the mountain. The guards here were fewer, but the strongest aura was in the courtyard, so he didn't dare get too close. Luckily, Ethan's spiritual sense was strong enough to cover the entire courtyard.
"Why do I suddenly feel like I'm being watched?" Alessandro Baker, who was meditating in a room, suddenly opened his eyes and muttered suspiciously. As he was feeling uncertain, Fabio walked in.
"Fabio, why are you back? Didn't I tell you to guard the foot of the mountain to keep strangers out?" Alessandro asked with a frown.
"Mr. Baker, a woman from the Ladies Guild named Bonnie Peterson is at the foot of the mountain, saying we captured her sister, Margare, and demanding we release her. How should we handle this?" Fabio reported.
"Ladies Guild? When did we capture anyone from the Ladies Guild?" Alessandro was puzzled.
Fabio quickly explained the situation with Margare, clearly indicating that she had indeed been mistakenly captured by the ML Guild.
"I see. Since we've captured her, we can't release her. These ordinary people have seen things they shouldn't have. We can't let anyone go until we capture that thing, to prevent any leaks. Go back and tell Bonnie that Margare will be released in ten days." After hearing this, Alessandro made a decision, clearly not taking the Ladies Guild or Bonnie seriously.
