Chapter 626 Angel's Fury
"Master!" Orla whispered again, her eyes locked on Ethan. Ethan felt something was off about her stare, like she was seeing someone else through him.
"Master, you don't remember me?" Orla's voice had a tinge of disappointment, and her eyes looked sad.
Ethan's face twisted in confusion. He thought, 'Why does it feel like I have abandoned her?'
Just then, Kirk, who had been quiet, let out a long sigh. Ethan's face changed instantly, and his nerves, which had just relaxed, tensed up again.
A soul attack could be super effective, but pulling it off again would be tough since Kirk would be on guard. Plus, the last attack had nearly drained Ethan's Sea of Consciousness. There was no way he could pull off another strike now. He didn't expect his all-out attack would only make Kirk lose focus for a few breaths.
"What did you just do?" Kirk’s entire figure and facial features became clearer, and he asked Ethan with a weird look.
"Ready for round two?" Ethan jumped up from the ground and shot back, staring at Kirk. Even though he was out of options, he couldn't let Kirk see through his bluff.
"That was a strange feeling. Must be some ancient soul attack technique, right? Where'd you learn that?" Kirk was genuinely intrigued by Ethan now. He hadn't expected this small fry to surprise him so much. He was glad he hadn't killed Ethan with a full-force attack earlier.
"Why should I tell you? How about you beg me?" Ethan sneered.
"Think I'll let you use it again?" Kirk asked with a cold smile.
"Doesn't matter. What matters is you won't get another shot at me! Francis, if you don't show up now, I'm really gonna die!" Ethan laughed and then shouted into the void.
Kirk's face changed dramatically. If Francis was really here, that would be a problem. But after a moment, there was no response. Kirk's gaze towards Ethan became strange again.
"Idiot, I was bluffing. You fell for it just because I shouted?" Ethan laughed heartily. Kirk squinted, a glint of light flashing in his eyes as he stared at Ethan.
"Think a bluff can save you? If you don't answer my question, I'll make you wish you were dead!" Kirk's face was expressionless, but his tone was chilling as he warned Ethan.
At that moment, Orla suddenly appeared in front of Ethan. Kirk frowned. When Orla called Ethan "master," he hadn't yet recovered from the soul attack, so he didn't know. The current scene puzzled him greatly.
"Trying to protect him?" Kirk asked, his face showing a hint of confusion as he stared at Orla.
"If you touch my master, I'll fight you to the death!" Orla stared at Kirk without blinking, like a mother wolf protecting her cub.
"Master? You actually recognize him as your master?" Kirk's face showed shock, and his mouth twitched involuntarily.
"You're wrong. He has always been my master, before and after!" Orla said firmly.
Not only Kirk, but even Ethan widened his eyes in surprise. He didn't remember ever taming a divine beast! But from the moment Orla called him master, Ethan could feel that every word she said was sincere.
"Ethan, Orla is my divine beast!" At this moment, Angel's urgent voice suddenly came from Ethan's Sea of Consciousness.
Ethan was stunned. If Orla was Angel's divine beast, everything made sense. Orla called him master because she sensed Angel's presence in him.
"Fine, I don't care what your relationship with him is. Even if you were his divine beast before, from now on, you can only be mine!" Kirk snorted coldly, and as he spoke, he reached out to grab Orla. A huge black palm, like a small mountain, enveloped Orla's small body.
"Foolish trash, daring to steal my divine beast!" Before Ethan could react, he heard Angel's angry shout in his Sea of Consciousness. Immediately, he felt a vast divine power pouring into his Sea of Consciousness.
Ethan was overjoyed, feeling that the sudden divine power was many times stronger than his own. He didn't hesitate to launch another soul attack on Kirk.
Even though Kirk was prepared this time, Ethan had undergone a transformation. It was as if Angel was using his hand to attack Kirk with her divine power.
With Angel's power, even if Kirk was fully prepared, he would have no chance to resist. The vast divine power instantly condensed into countless needles, shooting towards Kirk like a storm.
Kirk's face showed shock, his heart tightened, and he sensed a deadly danger! Such vast divine power was beyond his ability to resist. Even if he wanted to turn and flee, it was too late.
Countless needles pierced Kirk's body, freezing him in place. A soul attack felt like his soul was suddenly imprisoned, unable to merge with his body.
Kirk was filled with fear. He never expected to fall at the hands of a master level novice. The feeling of his soul being wounded and unable to control his body drove Kirk to the brink of collapse.
He thought, 'What on earth is going on? How could a master-level novice unleash such a terrifying soul attack?'
Kirk, filled with shock and doubt, was destined to find no answers. He could only try to break through the needles' confinement and regain control of his body. Otherwise, he had no doubt that Ethan would destroy his body before he could wake up.
